yes ive been seen and done the spinning thing with a beach caster, but my afvice is for people to get 9ft spinning rods and cast with a 2oz spinner with a set of feathers/daylights attached. If theres mackerel there youll get them!!! Maybe try a single spinner first, then when you hit them every cast, put your feathers on!!! Its all good learning and a productive way to bag up with mackerel!!! regards!

lolif ya want some real mackerel then come to bridlington where i live theres boats to go out a little bit and there cheep last 1 i whent on it was £20 for 6 hours of fishing and you wil get your moneys worth i caught about 300 and thats not including the 1ns that i chucked back coz the captin sed for evry 3 put 1 back coz i was catchin loads as in 3 at a time and the weight didnt get to the bottom be4 i got some mackerel and they wer all bout 30" long ma biggest bein bout 45" smallest 24"

Just feathers, we ended up catching about 80 mackerel that morning and it was Robs first go at beach fishing (the next chap along)
