I have never been married and I mindfully chose to stay at a distance from women who only seem to have marriage on her agenda. This is going to be my last comment about this subject! From what I have noticed as we all know that most black people do not care about marriage like other races. A black man can be with a black woman for 15 yrs and not be married to her but still consider her as being his wife. Lets face it! Black people do not believe in marriage like other races do! smh
unfortunately, the reasons a large minority of black men and women don't marry are rather simple: 24% of black men are / have been in prison (not good candidates for marriage to many women) and 50% of black women are obese, and many (something in the lower 30 percentile) are single mothers, never married (neither stat is 'attractive' to men that choose). don't commit crimes men, and lose the weight/dont have out of wedlock kids, ladies.

Stats are not predictions. They tell what's going on right now. 2nd, you're forgetting about ratio. 0.6% is a small number but you have to remember there are way more white men than black women.

0.6% is small, when looking at the numbers. whites outnumber blacks by about 5 times. 42% of black women go their whole lives unmarried, currently 70% single. PLENTY of single black women, few non black men willing to marry them.

I saw the segment on Night line and I can definitely relate to those women saying how hard it is to get a man to commit to you.Since I moved to Georgia I too have this issue. I have never had this problem before which is why I will be moving away from here in the next year.I have been married before and would like to marry again. Very well said.... As an unmarried black man it just pains me to think that we as a black race continue to let the media lead us in the direction that they so want us to go. I have never been married and I mindfully chose to stay at a distance from women who only seem to have marriage on her agenda. If more Black women were to be at ease with who they are then the right mate will surely find you. Read "Moments of Grace" by Patrice Gaines. An excellent book of finding who you are. Thks Curt G.

thank you for making this vid. I saw a few of them on youtube and didn't watch them all the way through. I tried makin a few vids on this subject and failed; mostly because I don't care how many black women are single. Thank you for mentioning the number of black men who are single; some black men act as if they have nothing to do with black women being single; not accepting that sometime it's their behavior that keeps black women single.

not really, because if black men say "we dont want to be married" you cant state that that causes black women to not get married, because there are many other races they could be marrying. if a black woman wants to get married and every black man sais no, then there are some 3 billion other men you could marry. so quit acting likeyou HAVE to marry a black man, its just racist thinking. I'm a Black man and I have a baby by a White woman, and I don't believe in marriage. I believe in baby daddy baby momma. Marriage is a trap, as well as parent hood and the responsibility that comes with it, It a trap. I don't speak for ALL Black men, but cats like me and Willy P are on the same page in this. I'm a world traveler and I like to be free. If a woman wants my seed I will give it to her because I'm a breeder, that's what I do. But yes at the moment I live with my BM and I feel traped.

This is going to be my last comment about this subject! From what I have noticed as we all know that most black people do not care about marriage like other races. A black man can be with a black woman for 15 yrs and not be married to her but still consider her as being his wife. Lets face it! Black people do not believe in marriage like other races do! smh

unfortunately, the reasons a large minority of black men and women don't marry are rather simple: 24% of black men are / have been in prison (not good candidates for marriage to many women) and 50% of black women are obese, and many (something in the lower 30 percentile) are single mothers, never married (neither stat is 'attractive' to men that choose). don't commit crimes men, and lose the weight/dont have out of wedlock kids, ladies.

however, why can't black women get white men? because white men tend NOT to want to marry black women in large numbers.

A look at these numbers, plus the 'Get you a white guy' videos and statements show most black women are open to IR...most non black men are simply not open to dating black owmen.

Like I said, most black women only want black men & while most non-black men may not be into black women, the ratio of black women to non-black men would make it possible for most black women to get with non-black men if they wanted to. If only 3 percent of non-black men were into black women that would take up a lot of black women.

@UHeardMe1stTime so, using white men (the highest percentage of non black men) as a barometer, and given that asian men are even LESS likely to marry black women, 0.6% marry black women. this means that, crudely, the 'maximum percentage of non black men are marrying black women'. and even though non black women marry black men at a rate 2.5 times higher, same can be said here.

@UHeardMe1stTime sorry for the late response, uheardme. unfortunately, 3% of 'non black men' are NOT 'in to' black women. white men are the MOST likely of 'non black men' to marry black woman, and only 0.6% will marry a black woman. asian men and hispanic men are WAY LESS LIKELY to marry a black woman and when they do, it's to a white woman. not 'good', just fact. black men are 2.5-3 times more likely to marry IR, but they're also the last to be chosen by non black women.

You must not think very highly of Black women, or Black people, which is sad. I find that the most racially secluded Blacks think that everyone hates them, but thats not really true.

@chocolatbuny chocalat, you can say what you want, i believe the stats.i believe what i see. VERY FEW white men marry OUTSIDE THE RACE (3%) and VERY FEW OF THEM marry black women. 2.4%marry asian women and 0.6% marry black women. these are stats based upon the TOTAL NUMBER OF MARRIAGES.
its not a function of what i 'think' of black women. my sister is married to a white guy, and SHE will tell you FEW white men marry black women. i never said white men HATE black women. they PREFER white.

Stats are not predictions. They tell what's going on right now. 2nd, you're forgetting about ratio. 0.6% is a small number but you have to remember there are way more white men than black women.

@UHeardMe1stTime i never said it was a 'prediction.it shows what white men do. the stat has been fairly constant over the last couple of decades. the NUMBER of white men/black women married goes up, but the PERCENTAGE stays the same.
0.6% is small, when looking at the numbers. whites outnumber blacks by about 5 times. 42% of black women go their whole lives unmarried, currently 70% single. PLENTY of single black women, few non black men willing to marry them.

You didn't refute what I said. I'll give you that 0.6 is a small number but ratio puts it into perspective. & using the 42% unmarried proves nothing especially when 43% of BM never marry. Most BW only want BM & if black men won't marry them, they'll stay single. Plus you're assuming that the whole 42% WANTS to be married. Some of the 70% are in relationships but not married & therefore not available.

looking at dept of human services and other stats, 25% of black men and women live in POVERTY. poor black folks simply don't marry. and poor WOMEN on public aid CAN'T marry. so more than HALF of the 42% of black women that never marry are accounted for as being poor.
figure in 80% of black women are fat, 50% obese, and they dont rate.

you CAN measure MARRIAGE, and it's a pretty good indicator on whom a person DATES.
