I think the studio were hoping to make a sequel, and ended it like this, where he doesnt get with the girl straight away, but why didit Zeta Jone's character, just stay a "Baddie??" Yeah, she fancied him, but he didnt want her, so what exactly is her role in the rest of the film? She should have just died with the rest of her gang. Instead of choosing to go good, and get nothing out of it.

This is one of the most weird endings in a movie, especially for a Superhero movie. I just find it strange how Zeta Jones, just has a sudden change of heart, half way through the film, and chooses to be a "goodie." She just looks like a spare part in this ending, and the two of them flying off and leaving Zane's "Phantom" to ride off into the wilderness. Its not the usual Hollywood style ending.

The Phantom was really underrated movie. Yes, I expected much more action and fight scenes but still it was great movie. Billy Zane was so cute as Phantom. Kristy Swanson and Catherine Zeta-Jones were charming as always.

i've never even seen this movie. i was looking for kristy swanson (poor kristy, i love her & she was cast in this terriblemovie) and this came up.

the movie looks horrible just from the clips i've seen. a dangerously sexy hero in...purple tights??...who smiles waaay too much.

i like billy zane, very hot, but not at all in this.

I think you'll find the whole goal of the reboot is to make it more realistic, sorta follow The Dark Knight and Batman Begins where the hero's can be real...

Hopefully it's a good reboot..
