God has a dream for all of us, thank you Katie for allowing God to work through you and for being willing to follow his dream for you. You are an inspiration!
Just yesterday in my Philosophy class we were discussing weather helping children like this is optional or obligatory, and my professor brought up Peter Singer with his notion that we have an OBLIGATION to help those in need, and that is of a secular view. I like that Katie reminds us that it is a commend, not a recommendation! Even Mohammed REQUIRED that all Muslims give a percentage of their wealth to help those in need, and they do. Think about it!
As well, Paul tells us in Romans not only that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory but he echos the Psalmist in that none of us are righteous; not one.
So from that perspective I feel confident that Katie would say, "Yes, I am a scumbag; a scumbag who for whatever reason, the Creator of all humbly came and adopted me. He is the One who loved me first despite my sinful wickedness and that is why I love Him".
I must say that, that from your perspective I agree with you completely! :)
@Android5217, first I would like to respectfully suggest that your unbelief in the Creator of all is not a license for such rudeness and would like to ask you to show the deserved respect that is due. @ourgenerationisdumb, humbly and from a different perspective, I would like to point out, and I think that Katie would agree, she is a "scumbag" (stay with me 'cause I think that you will agree). The writer of Ecclesiasties says, "Surely there is not a man on earth who does good and never sins".
I've been struggling to discern my vocation, searching for a ministry such as this one, and I pray that the Lord will help me in the same way he's helped Katie. I'm so grateful for God's call to this life! Peace and blessings <3
@Android5217 I was going to argue with you on the problem of evil, but instead, I just want to ask, does this girl really deserve to be called a scumbag? I can see you believing she's misguided, but that's different. Katie and scumbag don't belong in the same sentence.
Katie, you are so inspiring. Thanks for following God's voice in your life and inspiring so many others (like me!) to do the same. I have your book and it is great - hope you write another one very soon :)
We are 12 and 9 yr old sisters who are inspired by you and want to someday do more to help but for now we are sponsoring..its a start. We love you!!!!!!! <3
Thank you, precious sister, for your obedience and love for the least of these! I pray God continues to bless you richly and continue to be your Provider & use you greatly in His Kingdom!

Scumbag Katy, does good things for people out of kindness. Gives credit to a God that lets horrible things happen to innocent people.
