"Gizmo" is the term that Autodesk uses to describe the tool used for constraining editing operations to one axis or plane. Co-ordinates are still "co-ordinates" and axes are still "axes".

I would take it that they have renamed it
x,y,z is the co-ordinates why do they call it a gizmo, i was always told here in scotland to call it co-ordinates axis
