  • Nadia's routine was more difficult, with 2 releases. But she fell, so the gold went to Maxie... That's it..

  • she was my trainer for some years :)

  • @saralaurenlovesNCIS Mine too. But to be honest: I never enjoyed it - she might have been a great athlete but in person she was horrible.

  • She reminds me a lot of Hollie Vise on bars honestly.

  • @gymnasticsloverxoxo

why? i think they couldn't be more different IMHO

she's really tight and stiff looking (maxi) but hollie was always very soft in the back and on bars in general

  • @bbhouk1 I personally think they have very similar ways of swinging the bars, the way they pop out each skill instead of swinging into it. They obviously do have very different styles though.

  • super Bar worker

  • I love Maxi Gnauck she is the best

  • They gave her 10.0 in the optionals with the shuffle on the landing?

  • It was simpler back in the 80's.

  • Ah. But still....0_o.

  • It didn't rely so much on technicality.

  • LOL ok.

  • Though this routine looks simpler. Even Nadia and Shaposnikova had more difficulty at the time(oore bar releases) I guess that because it had a lot of swings over the bar made it look spectacular, but if you look closer, she didn't even get into a full handstand. Her body looks arched every time she's doing them.

  • Does look simpler, and the white socks make Maxi's already poor form look even worse. Seriously. :)

  • Yes Nadia and Shaposh had more difficulty, but keep in mind Nadia fell every time she did the hetch 1/2, also that dismount was really really difficult.

  • @gymnasticsloverxoxo No, not every time, but too often!

  • nadia's first ten came with a shuffle on the landing too.

  • Yes, this was 1980 and the code of points was MUCH different then it is nowadays. Also that dismount was incredibly difficult for that time, it was performed in 1988, eight years later by Daniela Silivas who also took gold on this event.

  • Awesome video.

Keep making more of those. I'm loving them.
