TG was influenced by many art movements as Dadá, Futurism, Fluxus (they all experimented with noise... and it is highly considered art) so TG can be an evolution of that movements. The begginnings of TG are so Dadaistics.

The difference is that 30 years ago TG were important and meant something. Like all genuine, thoughtful experimental music, a lot of what they did was brilliant, a lot was unlistenable, but nearly all of it was worth hearing and you could see the point of it.
