I am a christian. I've been meeting up with mormon missionaries for three-weeks. All they have ever had to back up the book of mormon as the word of god is they asked God and he said it was true. They ignore the historical aspects of the book. They ignore the fact that the people and places mentioned in the book have never existed. The stories in it are not historical. I've told them this... yet they still cling to it because of the testimony.

Rev 22:18 - This passage says that if anything is to add anything to the bible, punishment awaits them. BOM is an addition to the bible.

And Rev., the key word there is add, and I think that there are different ways that you could interpret "add". Also, what about Ezekiel 37:16-17 ?

The BOM may teach similar things that Paul would by teaching in Galatians, however, it is a completely "different gospel", it was written "long" after. The fact of the matter is that you cant add anything. Dont quote from scripture if you are going to take it out of context. Ezekiel 37:16-17 only mentions a story of writing on two sticks, "kingdom of Judah and kingdom of Israel", "hold them as if they were one". By no means does this reflect any sort of connection with the BOM or the Bible.

It is the same one that Paul was referring to! and the book of mormon is a record from 600 BC to 400 or so AD anyway, so it wouldn't have been "long after". How am I taking that scripture out of context? And Ezekiel does talk about both books.
