I also worked at a Starbucks and I have no idea why other people are giving you such a hard time! You made it at home, on a cheap machine that you can't time the shots on. Your milk was to YOUR liking and even if you didn't stir the chocolate, Starbucks employees aren't supposed to unless they are asked to! Keep on doing what you do. Forget everyone else.
@lowcostvideos While I realize this is for novices, you shouldn't give false information. Timing a shot is as easy as using a second hand on a watch. Just stop the brew process when you reach the appropriate time.
hey this looks soo yummy! i faved it:) but i have a capuccino/espresso maker and i cant get my mocha lattes to taste right. whats your coffee to water amount ratio when brewing the espresso? thanks!! oh yeah and about how long do you steam the milk because i dont have a thermometer.
@lowcostvideos long overdue message....don't worry about these comments. People love to hate others who can do it better. I love at the end how loud music came and shot on the cup was timed, it looked like you took a lot of pride in making that cup : ) Good video w/ editing lol. Thanks for teaching us! I just started college and needed something like this...
@lowcostvideos Did you watch your own video? You poured the shots over the chocolate and immediately dumped in the milk. Note: This can also be read as YOU DIDN'T STIR THE MOCHA/ESPRESSO.
And, yes, you can time shots on a "cheap" machine. Timing shots involves adjusting the grind of the coffee itself, which is something Starbucks wouldn't have taught you since you guys work on superautomatic machines.
Thank you finally a video that shows all the ingredients!!

Why does it seem like only people who know everything about coffee watch entry level how-to videos? Hmmm.

Does Starbucks use Hershey's Chocolate? I need better chocolate than that I think, better coffee too. I used Maxwell house today, Yuck!
1979roberts 2 years ago
The Hershey's is fine but for really good espresso try Starcucks Guatemala blend.
lowcostvideos 2 years ago
Cool thanks, but what do they use for choc. or is that a trade secret:?:)
1979roberts 2 years ago
It's a powder mixed with water - you can probably find it on ebay ;)

when u say steam the milk, can we just use regular cream?
how do u steam milk if u dont have one of those "special" coffee machines? do we just boil the milk or what?
lilaznoreo2 3 years ago
If you want to you can use half and half, that is called "Breve". I used regular 2%.
If you don't have that machine you can microwave the milk, don't boil it because then it will have a burned taste.

thanks :D
