5:34 am, the fire dept. can't control the blaze.

6:00 am, the fire spreads rapidly to nearby suburban areas.

6:20 am, evacuations take place in saburban DC.

6:57 am, fire spreads to urban areas.

7:10 am, evacuations take place in urban DC.

7:30 am, Fire is 6 blocks from the White House.

7:37 am, the president is evacuated.

9:20 am, DC is burning.
