Most old school salseros used duct tape along the inside of the mouth of the bell....it may help the responsiveness of the bell. If not, it may be worth buying a quality handmade bell if yours is really out of whack or poorly made.

i got a guiro after i said that and ur right. but that one that he has is made of plastic, i dont know how he gets the authenic sound. i tried and nope. nothin. i could only play the Puerto Rican one.
