They did lose it. The Wild Card was still new at the time, and Pat forgot to ask for it back immediately. I remember him asking for it after Sheila and C.J.'s first or second spin -- it must have been cut from the episode in post-production, perhaps for time constraints.
i just love the dollar amount space change colors for Season 24, the pink $300 is now blue, the red $600 is now blue, the golden yellow $300 is now red, and the golden yellow $500 is now blue.
