Loved the bike however. It not only looks and sounds great but seems to make good power, easily enough to pull wheelies on demand!

@1234nan4 you can buy it anytime you want... but if you have no experience.. it will be much much much heavier for you to learn how to ride properly as if you would start on a smaller bike and you would have to be veery careful on the throotle because of that power... it's easy to watch.. but not as easy to ride.. for no experience.. that's why all prefer starting with smaller bikes, to learn how to handle bike gradually

Kawasaki never marketed the 2010 Z1000 as a bike that belongs in the same class as the Streetfigher or Superduke.

But Neeves takes it upon himself to place the Z1000 into the same category with what he calls it "the real super nakeds", then announces that it doesn't quite belong there. Of course it doesn't. It wasn't made to be.

So I wonder why Neeves unfairly pitted the Z1000 with bikes that it was never intended to compete with in his closing statement.

You'd be a fool to think at 16,000 USD compared to 10,000 USD that the two bikes are comparable. Ducati's come with brembo brakes, racing suspension, and make no mistake about it are meant for the track. The Z1000 wasn't made for the track, it was made for the road, and thats where he complimented it, you wouldn't want more than the z1000 onroad.

Well thats cool, I respect your opinion.. it's "out there" in the styling dept. but like all Z1000's there are things that can be done to clean them up a bit... I would pull the plastic crap around the forks for sure, go with crg mirrors, FE, ect. And new pipes right away. The motor is tits! The only thing that eerks me is the cluster it is way too "spaceship". Still, I like it!

i had a 82 csr -was nice, a 79-1000,, but they were no where near the gs 4 valve

its a fact, the 900 and 1000 early, were modified to get a lot of performance, law changes ,kept bikes to 85mph speedo's as well, it killed kaw for a while

Looks like they started out in the middle of the hwy so it had to get warmed up to get there, plus the idle was low so it was probably warm. He is actually a very good test rider who has been around for a long time. Don't think kawasaki would let just anybody in to do a Release ride without checking credentials.
