I know this is a few years old, but Spinosaurus was primarily a fish eater, possibly of the 7m long swordfish living at the time. It may have hunter beached Plesiosaurs, Crocodiles (except Sarcosuchus) and probably young herbivores to weak to outrun the predator. It also scavenged Pliosaur and Dinosaur carcasses. By no means was it 'top dog' on land, that went to the smaller, but no less fearsome Carcharadontosaurus.
spinosaurus probably would have an advantage over trex 60-40, just due to its massive size. And as far as this documentary concerns, it's just hyped up, spinosaurus would not have actively hunted theropods. it's jaws aren't designed for it and its sail could easily be broken. It doesn't take a whole lot of zoology to know that it wouldn't be worth it for spinosaurus to frequently hunt such large theropods, due to the chance of it being injured back. That's why it hunted fish and small herbivores
@LoverDino true but trex had infectious teeth cause of all the meat it ate which rotted and caused deseaises that is why if it bites its prey or opposing competition one bite and it would die within a few hoours or a week depending on how much teeth got into body
ok I'm a big Spinosaurus fan, but I'm just gonna say this to the big T-rex vs. Spino groups. WE. WEREN'T. THERE. We cannot give an opinion on something we've never seen alive before. We can only assume what they were like from the fossils they left behind. For all we know Spino could have won, or T-rex, when it comes to fighting i'd say they're on equal ground. Spino has his size and massive arms and claws, T-rex has its powerful jaws. So can we all just agree to disagree and get along?
@Gojiraking1 Plus, they just would of never fought. They can tell they are both massive creatures and they simply wont fight each other else forced to by starvation. But we would probably have witnessed quite a yelling match.
Despite the fact that Primeval is called the X-Files with dinosaurs, it wasn't until the second season when they actually had dinosaurs on the show. When they eventually decided to bring in a large carniverous dinosaur to the show, they chose Spinosaurs. Why? Because Spinosarus is fucking awesome!

is this video made by and for spinosaurus fangays? because in every other documentary it's a piscivore (primary feeds on fish) and here thats not portrayed at all.
this program was probably sponsored by the idiots who failed research and made JP3 and want to cover their asses funding this illusion to make you spino fangays feel better
and this is coming from a neutral point when i watched JP3 as a kid and believed spino was the king, but that was then.
no offense to the maker of this documentary, but there are a few mistakes, such as the carchardontosaurus, its too small, the rugops is too small, the skull of spinosaurus is not so detailed, it had a jaw that was not so strong, and it mainly hunted on fish rather than other dinosaurs. it weighed 11 tonnes, not 9. it was probably 17 m rather than 18.
@jninogamaradawa The jaw was extremely powerful, but yeah this documentary was not about Carcharo or Rugops, so thus the mistakes (they probably didn't research him a whole lot). But everything else about Spino in this have been said by other documentaries, paleontologists, and professors from what I've seen and heard.
Who un-knowledgable people and JP fans who were kids that loved T-Rex when they saw JP3 and generally make up all their facts think would win in a fight: T-Rex.
Who PHDs, college professors, zoologists, and paleontologists that have studied long, gathered intel, and tested the weapons think would win: Spinosaurus
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@StylesonStiles where's your source? because i only have watched youtube videos and the palaeontologists mostly conclude that t-rex would win having a thicker hide and stronger bite
@deerini And which documentary have you been watching? All the ones I've seen say that Spino fought and killed bigger predators that T-Rex, had bigger mass, was heavier, and have the powerful, body builder arms that could swat T-Rex to the ground and finish off the final blow with a good twist of the neck. Not to mention even all documentaries today state the rules of predatory dominance: The bigger predator wins. Why? They win the fight of intimidation, a major aspect of T-Rex combat.
@StylesonStiles Spino was bigger and heavier. Its arms could have been used yes, but they were not very moveable and not design to cut through sick skinned animals. Unless those arms could knock out around 8 tons of power a T-rex would be able to balance the smash out (especially since T-rex was one of the most intelligent big theropods with a brain that were design to handle a lot of info at once)
@StylesonStiles The spino was also design for fishing. Everything from its long snout and thin but very sharp teeth points towards it. Ofc this doesnt mean the spino didnt hunt other stuff, it could very much kill medium and large herbivores aswell if it needed too (but it wasnt design for it). T-rex had a way more robust built then Spino. Much due to its massive amount of muscle (which are not only an "offensive" weapon but also deffensive as it protects organs)
@StylesonStiles T-rex was also built for killing very tough herbivores. It teeth design to crush bones and a jaw just aswell design for it. T-rex had one of the strongests jaws of that time. It were design to kill prey alot more armored then a spino. Spino instead actually had one of the weakest jaws thanks to its longer design. Its good for fishing but the lenght instead decrease the strenght it can produce. Its hard to say if a spino even could breake the neck of a fully grown T-rex.
@StylesonStiles why dont you send me a link to any other that support you? because this is the only one that feeds spino fanboys.
i could name planet dinosaur for one, watch their episode on spino. it's a lot more well illustrated and explained than this half-pretentious, assumption-based "documentary". i dont know any intelligent audience can find this documentary even legit.
@deerini if you googled or even youtubed any related info on the subject you'll always find how scientists always gather that the tyrannosauridae and therapods were the apex land killers and scavengers, let alone t-rex itself. i think even walking with dinosaurs support my notion here.
if u're way too lazy and ill probably have to give you links. and legit ones. compare UK documentaries like walking with dinosaurs/planet dinosaur to this pretentious, hollywood-paid US one. who would you trust?

@deerini and just wait til you see the spino fangays start piling on dislikes here. on the one and only video in the internet that talk of spino as much more than other scientists have gathered it to be.
hey i'm not saying who's right or who's wrong because we probably won't know, at least not in this lifetime. but look whos claims are more plausible, and hence supported by more (as in more than this one and only LOL) and more legit sources.
@deerini Hey, you seem a little steamed. At first I was into this debate but now I just feel I'm wasting away my life and my time. You seem like this thing has been the biggest pain in the side for a while. What the heck happened? Did all this happen just because a director added a new dinosaur and took out a much-beloved one in one of everyone's favorite franchises? How in the heck is this thing even a debate? Both died and showed even they bow to everyone's master: Time. Have a good day friend

@Yceb0x even if i'm feisty my points are as valid. it surprised me to see a pretentious documentary that is so dodgily "supported" by mere speculation that it feels like all these "professionals" in this video are actors or people that have a different cause.
@deerini That's the thing though, you're completely discrediting PHD's and paleontologists who've been researching the info for this documentary even before JP3 came out. The guy at 0:28 (Thomas Holtz) is actually a very well known Theropod expert (especially on T-Rexes, and he's been in a couple documentaries on him too). Just because they don't agree with your opinion, doesn't mean they cannot be creditable.
@monmontae Um, I don't know if this is the only one you've seen, but they've clearly stated several times that Spinosaurus hunted on fish and other dinos. What was that you said about stupid? Leave the guy alone already.
@StylesonStiles When I was a kid I used to think that T-Rex would've won. I was so mad that JP3 killed him. So I looked up the facts then realized I was only looking up facts about the T-Rex from other Youtubers and T-Rex fans. After looking at both sides from professionals and documentaries I realized most of the "facts" about T-Rex (and all the ones slamming Spino) were actually wrong. I like you know the truth now.
@Bubba1135 Haha, other way around here xD I always thought spino was the biggest and baddest of all of the two but after doing some reading I've found that even though spino was the bigger of the two, and as such had the advantage of size, it just was not built like T-rex. Possible it had the mass to be able to knock a T-rex down (and as such the T-rex own weight would be a problem). But other then that the odds are leaning in favor of T-rex. a Battleaxe vs a fishingspear : /
@StylesonStiles Well then you would also know that there are plenty (if not the majority) of paleontologists who actually think T-rex would have had the advantage. I think both are wicked dinosaurs so I usually try to stay out of the discussion. But there are plenty of discussion on this from educated palentologists. Also, this show "Mega-beasts" got a ton of critic from not only by palentologist for being wildly inaccurate at times. Just saying
@StylesonStiles The thing is the Spino never fought against dinosaurs on a daily basis. They didn't need to since they ate fish. The T-Rex also had a larger and better brain. Brain always beats brawn. Either way the T-Rex also had a much larger bight force. If anything you are just like the T-Rex fan boys who instead of making up facts you make up, saying scientist agree with me. This show does not have all the scientist on Earth. The T-Rex would simply win, they are smarter and stronger.
@XIronChancellorX Is Carcharodontosaurus not a dinosaur? Funny how people never think of animal instinct. When I was on a safari, the guide told us to stay inside the jeep because the animals saw us as one whole object (a big one at that). Even the rhinos didn't challenge it. Why? They didn't know anything about it. T-Rex fought mostly herbivores rather than theropods. Spino did have experience fighting theropods and had the size (intimidation) factor. T-Rex wouldn't even pick a fight.
@Yceb0x The Spino never fought dinos on as a daily routine. They ate fish 90% of the time. The T-Rex had the brain, power (their jaws were a lot stronger than the Spino's jaw), and the experience. If they ever would of fought I would give it to the T-Rex. The Spino was larger but that doesn't mean power. In addition, BOTH would back down from a fight with each other. They both can tell they are giants. They would of never fought even if they met each other.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Yceb0x In addition, you make it seem herbivores are weak? During this time they were built like tanks. I love it when people think herbivores are weak and pathetic even though a Triceratops could destroy many carnivores. By the way, the Triceratops probably would of crushed Spino. Spino didn't have the jaw strength nor the experience with the Triceratops to kill it. If the T-Rex can beat a tank, I think he can beat a fish eater.
@StylesonStiles In addition, you don't need to have a PHD to be an expert in the field. I am not saying I am, just some people go to college for their carrier and then study their interests in their own time. So you can trust some people who don't have PHD's. Hell who knows some people may have hundreds of books about paleontology and even knows more about these guys, but he is an accountant.
@Tobius11 "spino only got that big because of other crocodiles" Care to elaborate what you mean? Their size was a sign that they were so good at their "role" that they got afford being big and need more food then usual. Being big is only an advantage as long as you can supply the extre need of nutrition. Which it eventually couldnt and died out.
@subzerowarrior1 Well it prob wasnt an advantage atleast, but we dont know what it was used to. Also I think most scientists that study these things nowdays agree that the spinal cord was not in the sail but in the spine below. Also, if Spino had the size that it didnt actually have any real enemies for it to properly "fight" with, that that would not be a problem.
@subzerowarrior1 Yeah but I bet none of the other dinosaurs knew about that. Think about this, they're not humans, they don't think the way we do. They look at size and appearance first. Intimidation is nearly half the fight.
@TheMIKE130 So far the largest fossil of a theropod found have been bones from spinos. Now, we havent found a full "set" of bones from one individual, so basicly was there is are estemates of how big it could have become. But it still doesnt mean that for ex. the Gigantosaur couldnt get bigger etc. It could possibly have been and that we just havent found evidence / fossils for that yet.
@iadoremanga Well actually the main reason to why it is estimated that their main food source was fish, was not its arms but rathers its snout and jaws. The possible motion detection holes in its nose and the long jaws and mouth like the ones on crocs, instead of the wider shorter jaws of a T-rex or a lion etc. The claws would prob be used when the spino had alredy captured its prey and then use the claws to rip it open / kill it
the giant ripper is like a giant komodo dragon and they have pits on there skull aswell they says its because its that freakin' big that everthing can see it miles away so it you its pits to sense vibrations in the ground
reptiles are cold blooded reptiles need to stay warm the dot regulate there temprature with a sail . And I think its for breeding because male iguanas has flap under neath there necks that change colur dureing breeding season and anoles and some day gecko species have flaps under there necks that chage colour dureing breedig season to atract mates
@omid2011uowd I dont get the whole spino vs T-ex debate. Spino had size, weight and claws. While T-rex had stronger jaws. Ex. If a T-rex would be able to get around the neck of a spino it could quite possible kill it with its big powerfull jaws. But a grown T-ex vs a grown Spino? The spino would be quite substantionaly bigger and weigh several extra ton more. If it would manage to for ex. knock the T-rex to the ground then it would prob quite easly finnish it off with its hughe claws and teeth
@omid2011uowd Yeah, but you're not a PHD, a college professor, a paleontologist, or a zoologist, you're a person who's mad their precious T-Rex got his tail handed to him by a superior predator in one of your favorite childhood franchises.
@Yceb0x The thing is the Spino never fought against dinosaurs on a daily basis. The T-Rex would simply win, they are smarter and stronger.
welll thing is guys if a t-rex and mr spino here ever got into a fight it could go either way there both strong ass predetors if a t-rex gets onto a spinos neck spino is a goner t-rex gets hit with spinos claws its a goner its a either way battle
I suspect that Spinosaurus was not the biggest, nastiest land predator but a huge fish eater that waded in shallow water in hot steaming swamps and hooked large fish with those big claws. The skull is long and narrow, it's jaws have spike like teeth and a notch behind the premaxilla like a crocodile, mainly a fish eater. Spinosaurus also did not have the thick neck of a croc so shaking large prey in it's thin, narrow jaws would likely break those jaws and stress it's neck.
@2sheilach This makes the most sense to me, Spino doesn't strike me as a full fledged land predator or a fully aquatic one, and I don't think it would be able to sustain itself on a diet of fish. (might have been bigger fish on coastal waters but I don't know)
It seems like it would have to eat all day every day if that were the case.
1. t-rex and spino did not live in the same times so they could never fight so we could honsetly never tell who would win.
2. Spino is bigger, and stronger and with those claws and hands it could easily grab t-rex and pull him to the gorund, t-rex might have been smarter...but spino..is truely stronger
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@TheNintenCraft99 T.Rex is heavier and more muscular, which is more important then raw size. Also it's biteforce was greater; meaning that a single bite could finish the Spinosaurus. At the other hand the Spinosaurus had it's claws. It's just what would have happened, you never know.
Also most predators today avoid eachoter; probably it was the same back then meaning they'd go out of their way instead of killing eachoter like documentaries and movies often portray them to do haha.
First Off No i have been learning all of my life that Spinosaurus Does not have teeth design to crush bones and Spino was a fish eater also they had long narrow nails so that is for gutting/skinning fish Spino may have been fast yes but These so called scientist are just basing stop off of assumptions
Wow. This is fracking staggering. And LOL at the retards defending the people in the DVD. Yes, I agree their professions should be respected. But this is the most retardedly innacurate documentary about dinosaurs I've seen in my entire life.
This is just a fracking tribute to Spinosaurus hyping it up to be the greatest creature that has ever lived on this planet. It's not accurate in the least.
@Ins3ktz it is, spinosaurus was huge, lethal and very dangerous, people say it coulnt beat t-rex using its jaw, thats right it couldn't, however those claws would have ripped rexy's face off and like crocodiles, spinosaurus probably had unlimited teeth, it was bigger than t-rex, giganotoraptor and giganotosaurus, liopleurodon, predator x and megalodon and carcharodontosaurus
\SPINOSAURUS WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE SIZE OF PARALITITAN. The size fluctuates from ~45 feet to around 90 feet. It's stupid and makes no sense.
Also, those claws that could tear Rex's face off? What makes you think Spinosaurus had the dexterity that we do? It couldn't even Pronate it's hand, so it would have to swipe from side to side.
Id never heard of Spino until Jurasic park, even then i thought maybe it was made up, until these video's and if it weighed in at 16000 Lbs and fought like a Crockadile, just to be able to watch this thing kill in real life would probably make you piss and crap yourself...looks like this world has housed some real monsters..
the absurdity of the building of the dino arm is beyond measure.
no.1-if the dino was as big as they claim ,and i have no reason to believe it wasn't,,,,then i only need my minds eye to imagine the damage he could do
no.2-the dino arm mock-up is in no way an analogue for the real thing,,,,rigid heavy steel vs flexible flesh and bone,,,simply ridiculous
just another sad hallmark in the invasion of reality tv mentality into what should be pure science
it kind of blows my mind that anyone would try to disagree with what these PROFESSIONALS are saying without rock-solid proof that you didn't just read somewhere on the internet
If spino was against a t rex who would win the spino or the t rex because my fraind said that t rex would win because it had sharp teeth but wouldent spino win with teeth and jaws?
@asherrz It depends on the variables. Does one get the drop on the other? Are they both fully grown adults and are they on level ground. All that can effect a battle. If in actuality they did meet they'd likely not battle unless absolutely necessary to avoid getting killed. T-Rex had a vicious bit, but so does Spinosaurus. Not as powerful, granted but it would make up for that in versatility and it's Freddy Krueger claws. about 50/50 is my guess.
don't forget, Spinosaurus was able to put a foot on top of an armored prey like Ankylosaurus, provided that the tail club won't shatter its ankle in mid-air.
big arms..vicius claws..crap! No one can touch spinos right?..Really?..No, Look Spinos vs Carcharosaurus..one spinos jab and Carchas´s neck is broken. Yeah so credible. Spinos=Chucknorrisaurs, ajajajaja..
Heres what I honestly think but this is just my opinion. I think Spinosaur was a ambush predator/Fisher. Its sheer size and power could over whelm unaware prey while protecting it from other predators. But its main diet was fish due to the jaw shape as speculated. but thats just my honest opinion.
@MrRayquazaking Dude I think the same..JP3 was a crap..Spinos is a megabeast..right but. isn´t a super monster..did U see spinos vs carcharosaurus one spinos hit and the top predator is down?..No way!..Seriusly..I dont think Spinos was a super letal pretador..AMBUSH..yeah why not..but U right predator/fisher is the spinos role.
@MrRayquazaking ¡Exactly!..Just a big croc just like the "light" version baryonyx . Giganotosaur or the King T-REX are the true top predators..looks the massive skulls, the powerful jaws and his neck..one T-Rex bite and good bye Spinos shit. Sorry man..I love Dinos..but this show isn´t a reference for me.
its amazing that all of these prehistory show try (foolishly)to link every jelly fish, every lizard, every ape to be our ancestor.not once did i hear them say this might be an ancestor of modern crocs or alligators
@Hynes1404 Are u mentally stupid or what? Long and narrow jaw means a grip, not shatter or crunch. And they SPECIFICALLY said that Spino was INCAPABLE of crushing bones. That's why they previously compared the crocodile killing tactics and applied it to Spino. The sail is not for scare or show if you've actually watched other dinosaur documentaries. Obviously cuz it's a LIZARD, it's COLD-BLOODED. Therefore it needs to regulate it's temperature using the sun. That's where the sail comes in.
@Hynes1404 And furthermore, the claw OBVIOUSLY wasn't there to "carry" the meat away! Why did Spino live near water again?? IT ATE FISH!! The claws acted as spears!! Now, I have no problem that these guys are trying to find an alternative lifestyle to Spino's life and making it a flesh eater and not a fish eater, but you can at least PAY ATTENTION TO THE DAMN VIDEO and not make stupid remarks that were already explained the video!!!
@Hynes1404 Oh yeah, your stegosaurus shit remark? That tells EVERYONE that you are a COMPLETE NOOB on dinosaurs. IT WAS THERE FOR BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION!!! Same with Spino. Now, either you can watch the video and pay attention so that you don't make anymore stupid remarks, or you can read at least 3 frickin books about dinosaurs and then come back with a VALID argument.
@1997mclarencongo Not quite! Yes I 'may' have over looked the temperature regulation, Palentologists cannot say for sure that its sole use was temperature regulation, Compare these plates/sails that we see on dinosaurs to modern day birds, animals, and fish, we see their primary use is not body regulation, but for use in attracting mates, and scaring off predators, other males of the species. We can only assume what dinosaurs used these sails/plates for.
@Hynes1404 great point. sorry, i got a little carried away, especially how he said that stegosaurus only used the sail to scare off other dinosaurs....actually he sorta has a point there too. now that i look at it, everyone else said that we can only assume. I guess i just didn't like the way he addressed the scientists as stupid b/c I'm pretty sure he isn't a scientist as well
@SuperheldScottie Same here!! Although most books and documentaries say that it's a fish eater, i like to see it as a meat-eating machine. Besides, how can something so big live off of only fish? This theory seems more plausible!! :D
@1997mclarencongo That's what I think. Ok, it may have eaten 2 meter (6 foot) long fish but still. This thing is 18 meters long, thats 9 times as long. Spino is probably gonna be like 30 times a heavy. It's gonna need to eat some Dinosaurs (Also, did you know that Spino was the least aquatic Spinosaurid?)
@1997mclarencongo I don't know how they know that. Scientist just say it was. I gues it has do do with the way the animal is build or that they found something in Spinosaurid bones that only aquatic/semi-aquatic animals have and that Spinosaurus has the least of that something.
spino sucks -_- trex well kill that dum crocodlie its had strong bite it will snap the that neck and spino had hallow teeth and it eat fish and small dinos trex kill one big meal and willl last for weeks i think trex was the best dinosaur ever lived
I am sick and tired of people trying to talk shit about Spino look he's a big carnivoris dinosaur that also eats fish and if he can beat T-Rex good for him he isn't the only one though Gigantosaurus and Chacharadontosaurus can also beat him to beacause all 3 of them are bigger nastyer and more equiped. And atleast they know that they could hunt unlike how they don't know for sure if the T-Rex can hunt! ugh my god .
@KILLSHOCK1100 Your saying a Spinosaurus is the biggest Predator? it was not the biggest or EVEN included in the Top 5 largest predator. shonisaurus is the top then Megalodon and then Sperm Whale.
@Spnozilla Your incorrect, Shonisaurus,Megalodon,Sperm whales,Basilosaurus then Predator X where the top 5, They grew even larger then Spinosaurus and can kill one. But Spinosaurus is the Largest Land Predator, Not of all. I also can tell your a spinosaurus fan because your name is Spnozilla :P
@MRWEEGEE98 what the hell? we're not even talking about carcharodontosaur, we're talking about spinosaur. Spinosaurus is the longest and tallest carnivore dinosaur yet.
It may not be the strongest, no, it ate fish, but It is the largest carnivore.
I've read a few comments on this video and wow. Who do you guys actualy think you are? Who do you think knows more about this creature, you who just wikipedia or a whole team of scientists who have been studying this creature for years?
WHAT A BUNCH OF FANTASY BULL SHIT, FUCKING GEEKS WERE SMOKING GEEKROOMS WHEN THEY DECLARE THIS SHIT. DUMB FUCKS NOT SUGGEST BUT WENT AS FAR AS DRAWN UP AN ENTIRE STORY BASE ON 6 FUCKING "90" MILL. YR OLD ROCKS...FUCKING NERDS
@luckypx Can you just respect the PROFESSION of these guys? they´ve a lot of knowledge in these aspect that no one else does and I think if there is anyone who could speculate, experiment and invest their time; as good scientists, ARE THEY.
@CHADE47lol oh that was a old comment when i fought this was good i know t-rex can whip spinosaurus ass but i would like to see gigantosaurus vs t-rex
@lifeform106 giga is the strongest carnivorous dino after rex i have watched a documentary called beyond t-rex and it said that t-rex can beat giga and carcharo
@CHADE47lol No it said it was still the king and was the most advanced predatory dinosaur. They didn`t talk about fighting because it was inappropriate. Also was n`t bob bakker`s theory about megalosaurus being the biggest weird? It could be true, with 7.5 feeet of torso!
I have herd of spino when I was 2

no offense to the maker of this documentary, but there are a few mistakes, such as the carchardontosaurus, its too small, the rugops is too small, the skull of spinosaurus is not so detailed, it had a jaw that was not so strong, and it mainly hunted on fish rather than other dinosaurs. it weighed 11 tonnes, not 9. it was probably 17 m rather than 18.
jninogamaradawa 1 month ago

@StylesonStiles where's your source? because i only have watched youtube videos and the palaeontologists mostly conclude that t-rex would win having a thicker hide and stronger bite
deerini 1 month ago
@deerini And which documentary have you been watching? All the ones I've seen say that Spino fought and killed bigger predators that T-Rex, had bigger mass, was heavier, and have the powerful, body builder arms that could swat T-Rex to the ground and finish off the final blow with a good twist of the neck. Not to mention even all documentaries today state the rules of predatory dominance: The bigger predator wins. Why? They win the fight of intimidation, a major aspect of T-Rex combat.
StylesonStiles 3 weeks ago 4
@StylesonStiles Spino was bigger and heavier. Its arms could have been used yes, but they were not very moveable and not design to cut through sick skinned animals. Unless those arms could knock out around 8 tons of power a T-rex would be able to balance the smash out (especially since T-rex was one of the most intelligent big theropods with a brain that were design to handle a lot of info at once)
pepparmostheelder 3 weeks ago
@StylesonStiles The spino was also design for fishing. Everything from its long snout and thin but very sharp teeth points towards it. Ofc this doesnt mean the spino didnt hunt other stuff, it could very much kill medium and large herbivores aswell if it needed too (but it wasnt design for it). T-rex had a way more robust built then Spino. Much due to its massive amount of muscle (which are not only an "offensive" weapon but also deffensive as it protects organs)
pepparmostheelder 3 weeks ago
@StylesonStiles T-rex was also built for killing very tough herbivores. It teeth design to crush bones and a jaw just aswell design for it. T-rex had one of the strongests jaws of that time. It were design to kill prey alot more armored then a spino. Spino instead actually had one of the weakest jaws thanks to its longer design. Its good for fishing but the lenght instead decrease the strenght it can produce. Its hard to say if a spino even could breake the neck of a fully grown T-rex.
pepparmostheelder 3 weeks ago
@StylesonStiles why dont you send me a link to any other that support you? because this is the only one that feeds spino fanboys.
i could name planet dinosaur for one, watch their episode on spino. it's a lot more well illustrated and explained than this half-pretentious, assumption-based "documentary". i dont know any intelligent audience can find this documentary even legit.
deerini 3 weeks ago
@deerini if you googled or even youtubed any related info on the subject you'll always find how scientists always gather that the tyrannosauridae and therapods were the apex land killers and scavengers, let alone t-rex itself. i think even walking with dinosaurs support my notion here.

@deerini That's the thing though, you're completely discrediting PHD's and paleontologists who've been researching the info for this documentary even before JP3 came out.
Bubba1135 3 weeks ago 3
@Bubba1135 Haha, other way around here xD I always thought spino was the biggest and baddest of all of the two but after doing some reading I've found that even though spino was the bigger of the two, and as such had the advantage of size, it just was not built like T-rex. Possible it had the mass to be able to knock a T-rex down (and as such the T-rex own weight would be a problem). But other then that the odds are leaning in favor of T-rex. a Battleaxe vs a fishingspear : /
pepparmostheelder 3 weeks ago

Yceb0x 1 week ago
@Yceb0x The Spino never fought dinos on as a daily routine. They ate fish 90% of the time. The T-Rex had the brain, power (their jaws were a lot stronger than the Spino's jaw), and the experience. If they ever would of fought I would give it to the T-Rex. The Spino was larger but that doesn't mean power. In addition, BOTH would back down from a fight with each other. They both can tell they are giants. They would of never fought even if they met each other.

@Tobius11 "spino only got that big because of other crocodiles" Care to elaborate what you mean? Their size was a sign that they were so good at their "role" that they got afford being big and need more food then usual. Being big is only an advantage as long as you can supply the extre need of nutrition. Which it eventually couldnt and died out.
pepparmostheelder 1 month ago
Spinosaurus is overhyped as a predator. Surely having that massive sail on the back would be a disadvantage in a fight.
subzerowarrior1 1 month ago
@subzerowarrior1 Well it prob wasnt an advantage atleast, but we dont know what it was used to. Also I think most scientists that study these things nowdays agree that the spinal cord was not in the sail but in the spine below. Also, if Spino had the size that it didnt actually have any real enemies for it to properly "fight" with, that that would not be a problem.
pepparmostheelder 1 month ago
@subzerowarrior1 Yeah but I bet none of the other dinosaurs knew about that. Think about this, they're not humans, they don't think the way we do. They look at size and appearance first. Intimidation is nearly half the fight.

spino were thought to mainly eat fish which is why they have longer arms.
iadoremanga 1 month ago
@iadoremanga Well actually the main reason to why it is estimated that their main food source was fish, was not its arms but rathers its snout and jaws. The possible motion detection holes in its nose and the long jaws and mouth like the ones on crocs, instead of the wider shorter jaws of a T-rex or a lion etc. The claws would prob be used when the spino had alredy captured its prey and then use the claws to rip it open / kill it

2sheilach 2 months ago
@2sheilach This makes the most sense to me, Spino doesn't strike me as a full fledged land predator or a fully aquatic one, and I don't think it would be able to sustain itself on a diet of fish. (might have been bigger fish on coastal waters but I don't know)
It seems like it would have to eat all day every day if that were the case.

\SPINOSAURUS WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE SIZE OF PARALITITAN. The size fluctuates from ~45 feet to around 90 feet. It's stupid and makes no sense.

Such a load of Bull-SH1T.
Spinosaurus would have been more of an apex-scavenger, then a super carnivore. Look at the facts,
Its long yet narrow jaw, would not have been able to break bone like those of an Allosaurus, Giganotosaurus, or Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Its Sail, might have been used to scare off other dinosaurs, much like that of the Stegosaurus.
Its claws, would have been used to rip, tear and severe limbs, off a dead dinosaur, for it to carry to safety and eat.
Hynes1404 6 months ago
@Hynes1404 Are u mentally stupid or what? Long and narrow jaw means a grip, not shatter or crunch. And they SPECIFICALLY said that Spino was INCAPABLE of crushing bones. That's why they previously compared the crocodile killing tactics and applied it to Spino. The sail is not for scare or show if you've actually watched other dinosaur documentaries. Obviously cuz it's a LIZARD, it's COLD-BLOODED. Therefore it needs to regulate it's temperature using the sun. That's where the sail comes in.
1997mclarencongo 6 months ago
@Hynes1404 And furthermore, the claw OBVIOUSLY wasn't there to "carry" the meat away! Why did Spino live near water again?? IT ATE FISH!! The claws acted as spears!! Now, I have no problem that these guys are trying to find an alternative lifestyle to Spino's life and making it a flesh eater and not a fish eater, but you can at least PAY ATTENTION TO THE DAMN VIDEO and not make stupid remarks that were already explained the video!!!
1997mclarencongo 6 months ago
@Hynes1404 Oh yeah, your stegosaurus shit remark? That tells EVERYONE that you are a COMPLETE NOOB on dinosaurs. IT WAS THERE FOR BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION!!! Same with Spino. Now, either you can watch the video and pay attention so that you don't make anymore stupid remarks, or you can read at least 3 frickin books about dinosaurs and then come back with a VALID argument.
1997mclarencongo 6 months ago
@1997mclarencongo Not quite! Yes I 'may' have over looked the temperature regulation, Palentologists cannot say for sure that its sole use was temperature regulation, Compare these plates/sails that we see on dinosaurs to modern day birds, animals, and fish, we see their primary use is not body regulation, but for use in attracting mates, and scaring off predators, other males of the species. We can only assume what dinosaurs used these sails/plates for.
Hynes1404 6 months ago 6
@Hynes1404 great point. sorry, i got a little carried away, especially how he said that stegosaurus only used the sail to scare off other dinosaurs....actually he sorta has a point there too. now that i look at it, everyone else said that we can only assume. @1997mclarencongo I don't know how they know that. Scientist just say it was. I gues it has do do with the way the animal is build or that they found something in Spinosaurid bones that only aquatic/semi-aquatic animals have and that Spinosaurus has the least of that something.
SuperheldScottie 4 months ago
the big animals in this show always die by being overpowered by a pack of smaller predators

@KILLSHOCK1100 Your saying a Spinosaurus is the biggest Predator? it was not the biggest or EVEN included in the Top 5 largest predator. shonisaurus is the top then Megalodon and then Sperm Whale.
yes4roblox 6 months ago
@yes4roblox nope
Spnozilla 6 months ago
@Spnozilla Your incorrect, Shonisaurus,Megalodon,Sperm whales,Basilosaurus then Predator X where the top 5, They grew even larger then Spinosaurus and can kill one. But Spinosaurus is the Largest Land Predator, Not of all. I also can tell your a spinosaurus fan because your name is Spnozilla :P
yes4roblox 6 months ago
@yes4roblox um I alredy know that.
Spnozilla 6 months ago
@samlosl T-Rex have best bite of Dino times, Megalodon has best bite of All time.

123agumon 6 months ago
@123agumon they put carcharodontosaurus like a raptor infront a triceratops
MRWEEGEE98 6 months ago
@MRWEEGEE98 what the hell? we're not even talking about carcharodontosaur, we're talking about spinosaur. Spinosaurus is the longest and tallest carnivore dinosaur yet.
It may not be the strongest, no, it ate fish, but It is the largest carnivore.
123agumon 6 months ago
@123agumon yea, but in a 1:00 spino kill a carcarodontosaurus, and carcharodontosaurus was deally big
MRWEEGEE98 6 months ago
@MRWEEGEE98 just because carchara was big, it doesn't mean this one has to be. The carcharadontosaurus could have been a young one.

CHADE47lol 7 months ago
@CHADE47lol oh that was a old comment when i fought this was good i know t-rex can whip spinosaurus ass but i would like to see gigantosaurus vs t-rex
lifeform106 7 months ago
@lifeform106 giga is the strongest carnivorous dino after rex i have watched a documentary called beyond t-rex and it said that t-rex can beat giga and carcharo
CHADE47lol 7 months ago
@CHADE47lol No it said it was still the king and was the most advanced predatory dinosaur. They didn`t talk about fighting because it was inappropriate. Also was n`t bob bakker`s theory about megalosaurus being the biggest weird? It could be true, with 7.5 feeet of torso!
