I dind't like the first game because I felt it lacked a conclusive ending. Now that I know there's going to be a sequel, my opinion is starting to change. Lightning look amazing! :D
FF13 reminded me so much of FFX-2 here's how... they have the same basic ATB battle system, FF13 paradigm shifts were like FFX2 dress sphere change, FF13 paradigms were like FFX2 garment grids, FF13 has roles while FFX2 has dress speres. Differences being FF13 has Eidolons while FFX2 does not have Aeons, and the Crystarium was more closer to FFX sphere grid.
Epic. Plain & simple. Lightning's new valkyrie look...no words can describe it. Honestly though, I get the feeling SE is really going to give the storyline a bunch of attention this time, you know, go into more detail. THIS sequel doesn't look like a failure at all (just a feeling). Damn! This game gives me goosebumps....and it's only the trailer! Can't imagine how much more beautiful the entire game itself will be!

Apparently what was cut out of the first game was able to make up one entire game. Also, Square is planning on improving on every single aspect of the first game. XIII I thought was good but it could have been better. I'll give XIII-2 a chance, but I'm much more optimistic about Versus XIII.

Fall in love with Lightning? She was an uber bitch for almost half the game. Not my real cup of tea when looking for love. The only real cool character in the game was Sazh. I don't see why you think she was so epic or why anyone would think ANY of the characters were epic in this game. They all just seemed bland to me.

@rochead676 Theory: It's from Odin and it's an addition to Gestalt Mode or a replacement to Gestalt mode. The armor and shield seem similar to Odin so that's my guess. Don't think she got it for fashion.
Which would mean if other characters return then they will be able to do that with their Eidolons.
Looking forward to this game! i know alot of people hated 13 but i thought it was a awesome game from start to finish! The story and charactors kept me wanting to play the whole time and the graphics were amazing! The was a few problems with the game but thats the same with any game! @RinoaShadow agreed till then we won't know anything. Though I don't think they'll mess it up. Since there are alot of holes in FF13 and they had to cut 15 hours of content from the original.

The music, characters (especially Lightning) and battle system are what I like the most. The story's alright, just a little confusing.
I'm 17 years ol and have been playing FF since I was 6. I've played 7-13 (excluding 11), FFT, FF6, and FF5. As a fellow FF-fan, it's fair to say: there's no doubt there's been a decline in FF games. The decline started when Enix merged with Squaresoft, IMO. I loved 7-10. X-2, XII, and XIII just seemed lacking, though I do agree XIII was the best of three but still lacking. I do hope this game is amazing, but Square needs to change something completely for this to happen.
@ffplayervii agreed. I haven't played them all (mainly cuz I'm your age and I've never had a playstation)
Maybe it's cuz I have no way to compare my experiences with other FF's but I thought it was good... though you're right it seemed like it could have more.
I have hopes for this, I won't let anyone take them away from me! Lightning has so much potential, and the world was interesting....I am not a fan on her costume design but that can be overlooked if all else is agreeable!
@Mitty I'm thinking Lightning got that armor from Odin since they look similar. In which case maybe it's a new mode where you get your Eidolons abilities? In which case it could replace or add onto gestalt mode.

Well if her outfit has a real purpose like that then I don't have a problem with it, however I am a little nervous that it might just be ostentatious with no real merit. That's been the case with a past few RPG's, not all FF but including FF. I am still excited for it though :)

Games made in series' (Such as Final Fantasy, or Tales of games) never turn out correctly when they try a sequel. Have you ever played Symphonia 2?
They are acceptable, but they have a strange "Disney Sequel" feel to it.

Fall in love with Lightning? She was an uber bitch for almost half the game. Not my real cup of tea when looking for love. The only real cool character in the game was Sazh. I don't see why you think she was so epic or why anyone would think ANY of the characters were epic in this game. They all just seemed bland to me.
Vanille - The Ditz
Snow - The Douche
Hope - The Pansy (with the most retarded character development I've ever seen)
Fang - The Butch (still sexy as hell though)

the only one thing i ask of this game is that they don't keep the game so turn based i ain't saying its a bad thing but for console it just doesn't go with the games story. i mean you see punching left in right in cutscenes but you just dawdling in the combat part

First of all i love the ost already! :) her new shoulder pads remind me of Zack Fair from ff7,this reminds me of Cloud Vs Sephiroth and she keeps lookin like Cloud!!!!! They TWINS or WHUT??? XD

@rochead676 Theory: It's from Odin and it's an addition to Gestalt Mode or a replacement to Gestalt mode. The armor and shield seem similar to Odin so that's my guess. Don't think she got it for fashion.
Which would mean if other characters return then they will be able to do that with their Eidolons.

Looking forward to this game! i know alot of people hated 13 but i thought it was a awesome game from start to finish! The story and charactors kept me wanting to play the whole time and the graphics were amazing! The was a few problems with the game but thats the same with any game! I should think square will take this on board and produce a even better game second time round! hope so :)

I'm kinda excited for this. The first XIII was decent, the beginning parts of the game were just painful. But if Squeenix promise of hearing our complaints of the first game and improving on it on XIII-2, then this game should be fucking awesome.

@RinoaShadow agreed till then we won't know anything. Though I don't think they'll mess it up. Since there are alot of holes in FF13 and they had to cut 15 hours of content from the original.

@RinoaShadow I liked FF13 too. Not love, but I liked it enough. Though I have to be honest - I haven't beat it quite yet D: Near the end though. Still played enough to have a decent opinion about the game though. Gotta get around to finishing it...
The music, characters (especially Lightning) and battle system are what I like the most. The story's alright, just a little confusing.

I'm 17 years ol and have been playing FF since I was 6. I've played 7-13 (excluding 11), FFT, FF6, and FF5. As a fellow FF-fan, it's fair to say: there's no doubt there's been a decline in FF games. The decline started when Enix merged with Squaresoft, IMO. I loved 7-10. X-2, XII, and XIII just seemed lacking, though I do agree XIII was the best of three but still lacking. I do hope this game is amazing, but Square needs to change something completely for this to happen.

Maybe it's cuz I have no way to compare my experiences with other FF's but I thought it was good... though you're right it seemed like it could have more.

I have hopes for this, I won't let anyone take them away from me! Lightning has so much potential, and the world was interesting....I am not a fan on her costume design but that can be overlooked if all else is agreeable!

@Mitty I'm thinking Lightning got that armor from Odin since they look similar. In which case maybe it's a new mode where you get your Eidolons abilities? In which case it could replace or add onto gestalt mode.

Well if her outfit has a real purpose like that then I don't have a problem with it, however I am a little nervous that it might just be ostentatious with no real merit. That's been the case with a past few RPG's, not all FF but including FF. I am still excited for it though :)
