Hamas did not respond in self defense as they had already made it quite clear that after Israel's attack, the ceasefire was all but over. Israel broke the ceasefire first.

Hamas failed to do this as rockets still were fired from Israel into Gaza. Consequently, Hamas not only broke the ceasefire each time a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel, but also broke the ceasefire on November 4 while digging a tunnel.
You're more than welcome to read the terms of the ceasefire yourself.

On 4th November Israel attacked a tunnel which was dug by the Hamas beneath the Israeli boarder- probably in order to kidnap/kill Israeli soldiers or kill Israeli citizens inside Israeli settlements which are close do the boarder. That tunnel violated the ceasefire so Israel bombed it.
Look for the pictures of that tunnel my friend, I have and they were smuggling stuff through it (Food, baby milk and medical supplies that's all nothing else)

@mtthwbrnd The Blockade is merely a naval blockade intended to prevent weapons from reaching Gaza, all food aid can be directed by land through checkpoints where they can be inspected properly, tons of food aid enters Gaza on a regular basis and a lot of it is from Israel. The tunnels were illegal, they had weapons and explosives in them, and the Rocket Attacks on Israel never stopped, there were 1 to 3 rockets a month during the ceasefire.

Just to add something to the video; Hamas is not the only Palestinian group that can fire rockets. While the IDF had publicly stated that Hamas was observing the ceasefire before November 5th, a couple of other rockets were fired into Israeli territory.

I suggest you actually read the terms of the treaty before making such statements. A lifting of the "blockade" (in quotes because Israel allowed through ample humanitarian goods) was conditioned upon a halt to rocket attacks, not just from Hamas, but from all parties in Gaza. There was no halt as the video clearly shows.

The digging of the tunnel was SUSPECTED by Israel. There is no credible evidence that they were digging the tunnel to abduct soldiers. Hamas did not respond in self defense as they had already made it quite clear that after Israel's attack, the ceasefire was all but over. Israel broke the ceasefire first.

Nope, because the terms of the ceasefire demanded that Hamas halt all rocket attacks coming from Gaza. Not just those being fired from Hamas. Hamas failed to do this as rockets still were fired from Israel into Gaza. Consequently, Hamas not only broke the ceasefire each time a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel, but also broke the ceasefire on November 4 while digging a tunnel.
You're more than welcome to read the terms of the ceasefire yourself.

When Koffi Annan (who is not an international legal scholar) tried to claim that the occupation was "illegal," he was taken to task by international an legal scholar. See "Annan's Careless Language," George P. Fletcher, New York Times.
It's best to rely on what international legal scholars have to say rather than relying on silly buzzwords.

The events of November 4th aren't even relevant because there were 18 violations of the ceasefire on Hamas' part prior to November 4.

The UN recorded seven Israeli (IDF) violations of the ceasefire between June 20 and June 26 and three violations by Palestinian groups not affiliated with Hamas between June 23 and 26. These are the rocket attacks which you were referring to I'm assuming. So technically, according to the UN and probably just about everyone else in the world agree that Israel violated the ceasefire first.. Disregarding the Nov 4th event, Israel still violated the ceasefire first.

It was broken 4 days later by the "palestinians" !!!

On 4th November Israel attacked a tunnel which was dug by the Hamas beneath the Israeli boarder- probably in order to kidnap/kill Israeli soldiers or kill Israeli citizens inside Israeli settlements which are close do the boarder. That tunnel violated the ceasefire so Israel bombed it.
