this scene always hurts me as much as his fathers death scene, my father may not have passed on, but what daniel says about how he feels guilty for not listening enough or being there, i know how he feels, its an amazing scene and kills me every time :(
@robtek me to ..my dad did die and i feel like daniel ...the words he says sounds so much like me ..this part always brings tears to my eyes no matter how many times i watch it ...and yea your right this is a amazing scene of this movie
This is great. Love it Someone should post the full scene from the original movie, though, the one where Miyagi breaks down after speaking about his dead wife and child. That's easily as touching as this, especially Daniel's reaction.
@joshywood Give them a break, just because they're not crying about that scene doesn't really mean they're wicked people, they're just being strong, and don't you dare compering then to the cobra kai.
Mr. Miyagi was doing most of the teaching throughout the movies. And, this was the time when the "son figure" taught the "father figure." Daniel had unfortunately gone through the death of his own father earlier, but used his experience from that to help Mr. Miyagi along.
I Love These Movies So Much Now Theres A New One Coming Out But It Will Never Be The Same Ever Not Even Close To It Just Like When Ralph Macchio Wasnt In The 4th One It Just Wasnt As Good To Me With A Different Actor I Enjoyed It Still But It Was Just Different
I remember when this movie came out. Alot of people in my family were dying all around me. My cousins' relatives, my grandparents... it was hard and I was only 6 years old. I stood up though and was there for everyone like Daniel-San. I like to think that's why so many good things happen today for me. :) I'd do it all again for everyone who'd need it. :'(
Such an emotional moment, during this part of the movie. And considering, its one of my ALL time favorites, this scene never fails in making me cry. Makes me realize, how my own folks are getting older, and wanting to be there for them all i can, before they die. Its such a beautiful background, in the heart felt words, & music that go along with it. That i feel at least, would make anyone stop and think about life for a moment.....
Is this about the bonsai tree? People shouldn't trust Italians with valuable things cuz they're too concerned with themselves to care much about anything else.
holy shit.....i almost cried.....trying not to LOL you know that weird feeling you get in your throat when you don't want to cry.....man this scene is amazing.......i also like the scene where his dad see's him for the first time in a long time...he says .something like." If i am dreaming, may i never wake up, If i am awake may i never sleep" that's beautiful.
Mr. Miyagi is the greatest mentor in movie history. He owns all those bitches from Rocky's Paulie to Star Wars's Yoda! God bless you Mr. Morita for you have trully blessed us with your performance on this character.
What a classy movie. Definitely one of the best trilogies ever! They don't make movies like this anymore. A karate movie from the 80's has more meaningful dialogue than all of the movies made in the last 3-4 years that have been nominated for an Oscar, pretty sad and pathetic. No orginality in Hollywood anymore.
This part of the move made me well up in the eyes. The speech, music, everything just flowed. It really got you emotionally invovled. RIP Pat Morita....
my grandpa was like my mentor, unfortunatly he passed away back in '05. and i still have his funeral in my head... but anyway, pat morita was a good man. RIP miyogi-sensai.
This scene was the best scene ever in the film. It probably one of the best of scene that shows asian male actor actually showing emotion. In many hollywood films Asian males have never shown any emotion. I think it was one rare film that did. Awsome. Pat Morita will forever be in my heart.
I cry everytime now I see this part I finally got the movie like 4weeks ago I know alittle late cause everyone else owns it and stuff but yeah R.I.P Mr Miyagi Sato and Yukie
One of the all time classic sequel movies of probably the best movie I've ever watched (Part 1). This is very touching. Mr. Miyagi-san...you'll always be remembered.

@trustno1 Last time I checked Paulie was a homeless, raging alcoholic that beat on his sister. How exactly was he a mentor to Rocky?

@trustno1 Paulie was Rocky's brother in law...The great Mickey Goldmill was Rocky's trainer/mentor.
