  • this scene always hurts me as much as his fathers death scene, my father may not have passed on, but what daniel says about how he feels guilty for not listening enough or being there, i know how he feels, its an amazing scene and kills me every time :(

  • @robtek me to ..my dad did die and i feel like daniel ...the words he says sounds so much like me ..this part always brings tears to my eyes no matter how many times i watch it ...and yea your right this is a amazing scene of this movie

  • Mr Miyagi would punk Chuck Norris.

  • they were such an amazing combination in the every karate kid so timeless

  • This was a great moment, but the scene from the first film where he talks about the death of his wife and son is much more powerful.

  • this proves that crying is not the sign of weakness.

  • What a place to mourn.. Just sets for tears to fall for a loved one. I think I'll cry the same way when my old man passes his time

  • @jlagraba fuck yea, my dad is the closest thing to Mr Miyagi to me! i want to impress him by becoming a great father than a student of his!

  • This is great. Love it Someone should post the full scene from the original movie, though, the one where Miyagi breaks down after speaking about his dead wife and child. That's easily as touching as this, especially Daniel's reaction.

  • This is one of the best scenes in cinematic history, in my opinion.

  • Miss being a child watching these, so much

  • the student teaches the master....Brilliant.

  • greatest soundtrack

  • Whats the name of that actor with a greek surname , the one who looks like a teenage even though he is over 40?

  • @modewr Ralph Macchio? lol

  • Pat Morita, Is famous for 1 THING. Saying nothing, and then saying something @ the same time.

  • Gold..

  • If you can watch this scene without at least tearing up you're apart of the Cobra Kai.

  • @joshywood Give them a break, just because they're not crying about that scene doesn't really mean they're wicked people, they're just being strong, and don't you dare compering then to the cobra kai.

  • Mr. Miyagi was doing most of the teaching throughout the movies. And, this was the time when the "son figure" taught the "father figure." Daniel had unfortunately gone through the death of his own father earlier, but used his experience from that to help Mr. Miyagi along.

  • I Love These Movies So Much Now Theres A New One Coming Out But It Will Never Be The Same Ever Not Even Close To It Just Like When Ralph Macchio Wasnt In The 4th One It Just Wasnt As Good To Me With A Different Actor I Enjoyed It Still But It Was Just Different

  • the score really brings out the emotion of this scene

  • sad

  • One of the only movie scenes ever to make me cry.

  • I remember when this movie came out. Alot of people in my family were dying all around me. My cousins' relatives, my grandparents... it was hard and I was only 6 years old. I stood up though and was there for everyone like Daniel-San. I like to think that's why so many good things happen today for me. :) I'd do it all again for everyone who'd need it. :'(

  • what an amazing actor Pat Morita was.

    Just amazing.

  • love the music that goes with this scene

  • i almost cryed

  • that was so sad........even for me.... :(

  • This scene made me cry. It's the most emotional part in the story. It brought me back to what stuff i did bad to my dad. It brings tears to my eyes.

  • Such an emotional moment, during this part of the movie. And considering, its one of my ALL time favorites, this scene never fails in making me cry. Makes me realize, how my own folks are getting older, and wanting to be there for them all i can, before they die. Its such a beautiful background, in the heart felt words, & music that go along with it. That i feel at least, would make anyone stop and think about life for a moment.....

  • His eyes watered up, almost cried.

  • he dont cry

  • Every time i see this scene it brings a tear to my eye

  • how many karate sequals are ther?

  • Is this about the bonsai tree? People shouldn't trust Italians with valuable things cuz they're too concerned with themselves to care much about anything else.

  • he lost his father in that scene

  • awhh... :(

  • i dont have to.

  • did he lose his brother or something

  • read the description for once

  • He lost his dad.

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit.....i almost cried.....trying not to LOL you know that weird feeling you get in your throat when you don't want to cry.....man this scene is amazing.......i also like the scene where his dad see's him for the first time in a long time...he says .something like." If i am dreaming, may i never wake up, If i am awake may i never sleep" that's beautiful.

  • Yeah, but after a touching moment like this, Daniel shouldn't lose so easily in fights. I pretend Karate Kid III doesn't exist.

  • me too, kk3 taints everything

  • probably the most powerful non-spoken moment in any actor's career. and yes bill conti's music elevates it 1000 percent. macchio excellent as well.

  • just the music alone is heart breaking enough...losing anyone you care about hurts just as much...

  • this scene makes me cry too

  • I was so inlove with Danielson

  • miyagi is the father daniel never had, and daniel is the son miyagi never had.

  • wow, that's cool, never seen it that way

  • @ancestron ...the bonsai is the tree they've both had >.>

  • omg this is soooo sad

    i absolutely love this scene

    Mr. Miyagi is fucking awesome

& and Daniel is so HOT!

  • i was very sad to hear Mr. Miyagi died last year...i watched this scence a few times..made me tear up

  • I gotta admit I cried watching this again and thinking about all the sons out there who don't have their fathers any longer. A very surreal scene.

  • nobody is greater that Mr.Miyagi! even daniel n chuck noriss !

  • Yoda is a lame puppet. Miyagi is a real person.

  • Does anybody know if i can get a copy of this soundtrack? Specifically this song?

  • Mr. Miyagi is the man...

  • Mr. Miyagi is the greatest mentor in movie history. He owns all those bitches from Rocky's Paulie to Star Wars's Yoda! God bless you Mr. Morita for you have trully blessed us with your performance on this character.

  • @trustno1 Last time I checked Paulie was a homeless, raging alcoholic that beat on his sister. How exactly was he a mentor to Rocky?

  • @trustno1 Paulie was Rocky's brother in law...The great Mickey Goldmill was Rocky's trainer/mentor.

"Nature is smarter than people think."---Mickey Goldmill

  • get a brain...

  • He doesn't even deserve one.

  • poor mayagi

  • Was this in Karate Kid 2? I don't remember this scene and I love Karate Kid, thought I would surely remember this...

    is this a deleted scene?

  • not deleted

  • No it wasn't deleted. It's probably the most memorable scene. Great tune.

  • I'm sorry...I think he wasn't even born yet.

  • Very touching music.

  • What a classy movie. Definitely one of the best trilogies ever! They don't make movies like this anymore. A karate movie from the 80's has more meaningful dialogue than all of the movies made in the last 3-4 years that have been nominated for an Oscar, pretty sad and pathetic. No orginality in Hollywood anymore.

  • You're 23 years old? Makes sense the movie came out when you were sucking baby bottles.

  • Was referring to poster busuioc85...sorry.

  • Well, i'm sure that means something.

  • fuck you

  • does anybody know the music? it would be a great help, thanks.

  • I loved the setting in this movie. The shore, trees, the tranquility. This was a great scene from the movie

  • Together with Bruce they are my Idols

  • my grandpa was like my mentor, unfortunatly he passed away back in '05. and i still have his funeral in my head... but anyway, pat morita was a good man. RIP miyogi-sensai.

  • gran muestra de amistad

  • This scene was the best scene ever in the film. It probably one of the best of scene that shows asian male actor actually showing emotion. In many hollywood films Asian males have never shown any emotion. I think it was one rare film that did. Awsome. Pat Morita will forever be in my heart.

  • This Bit Makes Me Cry everytime, no matter how many times i've watched the film!! In this film, daniels so sweet and caring and miyagis cute

  • I cry everytime now I see this part I finally got the movie like 4weeks ago I know alittle late cause everyone else owns it and stuff but yeah R.I.P Mr Miyagi Sato and Yukie
