Dawn is used to clean oil off animals that are caught in an oil spill. It can be used infrequently on animals. Just use a pet shampoo to re-moisturize their skin. There's a common process to grooming cats, but some of those finer details are up to the cat and its owner/groomer. Some groomers say yes, some say no. It's really a moot issue as long as the groomer is responsible and cares properly for the animal.
okay, that is a quiet kitten, my cat just had a litter and their almost 2 weeks now and they will squeak if you're not holding them so their whole body is supported, and that ones just dangling there...
ur being to rough, its too little too, using dawn burns the animals eyes and makes the eratated and red, and then using the stuff u used can dry its skin out, wut i think is that its too small to take a bath. and the way ur rubbing it looks painfull
After watching multiple videos of this lady, I've come to the conclusion that she has no clue how to properly care for animals. And it looks like she has quite a few cats, which is sad. Those poor cats don't deserve this lady and her crazy ideas. I wonder, if she has kids, did she wash them in vinegar water with Dawn too?
@RenaSunflash ...well I do know that Dawn will kill headlice! There was an outbreak of it at my daughter's preschool and the nurse said Dawn will do the trick and it did!
I have been a bather/ dryer at a groom shop for a year and this lady is crazy. Yes you can use dawn for really dirty or greasy dogs, but after you should use an oatmeal shampoo or conditioner too keep from drying the dog's skin out. Also, dawn DOES burn the animal's eyes!
So because I'm not a professioinal hair dresser, but I do cut my sons hair, if I look up hair dressing tips, are they going to suggest I use dawn on him too?
People watching this, the trick to killing fleas is to suds up the cat with ANIMAL SHAMPOO BEFORE wetting him. Leave on for about 10 minutes, working it while he sits there, then rinse. DOES NOT HAVE TO BE FLEA SHAMPOO and especially NOT DAWN!
The logic is that a flea once it gets wet will form an air bubble around itself to survive, IF you get shampoo on it before it gets the chance to form that air bubble, it'll die! You can look that up, it's fact.
I've been grooming for over 17 years now, and the majority of my clients would prefer to use products specifically developed with cats and dogs in mind. Silly reasoning, I use harsh scrub brushes on my pots, does that mean I should use them on cats too? Dawn is hard on a cats sensitive skin.
Why Dawn when there are great CAT shampoos on the market? This is misleading cat owners to promote using dish liquid. Any shampoo will kill fleas if used properly. The secret is to not wet the animal before applying DILUTED shampoo. I've been grooming 17 years now, I know a little about what I'm talking about. lol
Because these are meant for people who are at home, and people who aren't professional. I personaly like using Dawn better than cat shampoos,t's meant for scrubbing pots, I think it'll clean a cat. xD
