Nikon D7000 vs. Sony A77 - OVF vs. EVF low-light comparison, AF speed test

Dark scenario, say shooting stars, how would the EVF cope? Wont you be temporarily blind in one eye when look away from the EVF because the EVF is very bright compared to the dark night?

@chingy1788 It's OLED, it's not bright when it's dark, similar to samsung's AMOLED displays, when displaying dark screen it's not shining

@VijayNale EVF is electronically brightened, sensor is more light sensitive than just your eye, like night vision

The EVF will always be brighter in the dark but the Nikon would do better than this with a faster lens.

@tbcass you're right that when using faster lens I would see more light, but the same it is with EVF. In this comparison I used f/2.8 sony vs. f/3.5 Nikon, so it's not that much different.

Which VF do you prefer?

@Reneyssa I prefer EVF, in the dark I used to see nothing when using OVF, now I see much better, because it's larger and brighter. In EVF I also see real exposure settings and their impact on final shot like in live view on compact cameras. Next good thing is that I can use EVF when shooting video, OVF is blocked by mirror when shooting with normal DSLR. And at last it's perfect for reviewing photos in bright sunlight when I can see nothing on LCD screen.
