Carriers are only needed when you have to retake. 2 old Victoria class carriers carry 20 odd jets. The massive military airbase that the Falklands now has can hold an entire airforce. Carriers are not needed because we are now the defender with Argentina having to attack what is now essentially a massive military base.

Carriers are only needed when you have to retake. 2 old Victoria class carriers carry 20 odd jets. The massive military airbase that the Falklands now has can hold an entire airforce. Carriers are not needed because we are now the defender with Argentina having to attack what is now essentially a massive military base.
This is why they don't attempt such a task mate :)

@chezzylee It would be pretty stupid of the Americans to give Russia intelligence on British nuclear weapons and programs considering that we share nuclear technology. The missiles are also pooled with the US navy so we will keep getting missiles they have used too. The leak says the serial numbers for missiles they provide not that they get back. I'm a bit shocked they did it but it doesn't really tell anyone anything.

Basically, sit this thing in the Thames, London and the Home counties are protected against missile attack from anything short of ICBMs (which go too high and fall too fast). This thing can track 500 air targets and hit anything it can see. Your fighters would be so much target practice. Of course, since you can't even spell 'would mess' correctly, I don't expect you to be bothered by actual facts.

The entire US pacific fleet, carriers, frigates, destroyers and submarines failed to pick up on this song class submarine as it popped up smack bang in the middle of their show of power to the Chinese, a couple of hundred meters from the USS Kitty Hawk, easily within range to sink it. Now get a grip, PLEASE
