Nintendo pissed on Zelda, and now they're finally paying.

i actually am quite fluent in english, its just i don't give a fat fu** on the internet lol...and also, i was to the sand temple (or watever) and i just could not get into that stupid friggin game. Don't get me wrong, i LOVED PH, but this ST has me so secluded from any type of free ranging and adventuring, it takes all purpose of what zelda is and rapes it whilst killing ur mom and eating your g-mas X-mas turkey.
If you "couldn't get into it" you wouldn't have gotten to the sand temple, the game has a ton of free ranging and adventuring (Unlocking new rails, going to hidden stations, the hyrule castle town battle dungeon with dark link, etc.), and I bet you can't even name what item you get in the sand temple.

First of all, you don't whistle, you call. Second of all, it is still free ranging even though you are on tracks because it lets you go anywhere that you've unlocked through various tasks for other people. Third of all, princess zelda is easy to control if you stand in the right place when you call her. Fourth of all, I highly doubt you JUST sold the game.

Now that I have played through most of Spirit Tracks, I can comment on it.
The music, especially the tunes played when using the Spirit Flute, are fantastic. The music when riding the train is some of the best overworld music in a Zelda game to date.
The story is a bit too short, and the dungeons are a bit abbreviated, as well. Overall, though, I think it's definitely a top-tier Zelda game.
Abbreviated dungeons? The damn tower has 20+ floors! The puzzles are fun though. And I like the train. It's fun to just ride around the map at full speed and shoot stuff...
The Tower of Spirits, like the Temple of the Ocean King, is not a dungeon in the classical sense of the Zelda series. The other non-overworld areas are definitely abbreviated. For instance, it took me less than 15 minutes to clear the Ocean Temple. In Ocarina of Time it took me about 30 minutes to clear the Ocean Temple.
@doanjoey It wasn't really "Legend of Zelda" in the ways we think of "The Legend of Zelda," though. The Triforce really had no role in the game, it broke away from the usual Zelda games, and it is getting ridiculous that Nintendo constantly cell shades the games and limits the amount of exploration you can do. I agree, the game as a game was decent, but it lost the basic storyline.
Haha! I love these so much. Unfortunately Spirit Tracks was kind of a disappointment to me. It felt..so short...and the storyline was pretty much 'get Zelda's body back, the end' : / I am a big Zelda fan..but Spirit Tracks is 'eh'.

I'm just going to play Devil's Advocate and say that to be honest, Wind Waker was my favorite Zelda game thus far. Yeah, pretty sure this comment's going to get thumbs downed, but I said it.
This one was pretty funny. Also, it's interesting to me how younger fans complain that Twilight Princess is too easy, while my generation was making the same complaint about Ocarina. I'd still place OoT as one of the best games of all time, however.

I just love every Zelda Game but to be honest...ocarina was my favorite...but not any more...it is to overrated...and my opinion...Four Swods Adventures i my # 1...but dont worry...Wind Waker is like...in a tie with Four Swords....and in second place...i will gave it to Spirit Tracks....third...Twilight Princess...and fourth...Phantom Hourglass...and this one is in fourth ONLY because it is like 6 times the Temple of the Ocean King...if I remember correctly...
I think the cartoon look is very suitable for the DS. Graphics in the DS tend to look better when the art syle is cartoony, not realistic. It attacts the next generation of Zelda fans which are the children, while maintaining the mature complexity of puzzle solving for adults.
I loved the toon style it makes it seem more creative and more less scary, Majoras mask, scary and dark it was, was still impressive, but i think making it have two types is good. Besides Twilight Princess wasnt as good as it looked liked it wasnt bad, but i loved the windwaker allot more
You've got to be kidding me. Spirit Tracks is one of the best and probably the best DS game of all time, and definitely one of the best top-down zelda's. I am not against Wind Waker, Ocarina Of Time, Or Majora's Mask. But i am just saying that just because it is cell-shading doesn't make it a bad game, and that i quite liked the style ;)
I loved Twilight Princess, it was much more epic than Ocarina of Time. The game had responsive controls, interesting puzzles, challenging dungeons, amazing graphics, a good soundtrack. And Midna is one of the best characters Nintendo has created.
The Wind Waker, from what I played (up to where you find the Triforce shards), was amazing. Some of the dungeons were too easy (the Tower of the Gods), but overall I loved the art style, characters, exploring the ocean, etc.
I found Windwaker harder than Twilight Princess is some parts, like, In TP, I didnt lose A SINGLE HEART vs the spider boss, not ONE, too easy.
TP had a lacking soundtrack, since it was mostly made with MIDI and not actual orchestra, that's why galaxy's soundtrack was so spectacular, the puzzles, while interesting, were too easy, the graphics were ok at best not amazing, I do agree with midna though, she felt more out there.

Now that I have played through most of Spirit Tracks, I can comment on it.
The music, especially the tunes played when using the Spirit Flute, are fantastic. The music when riding the train is some of the best overworld music in a Zelda game to date.
The story is a bit too short, and the dungeons are a bit abbreviated, as well. Overall, though, I think it's definitely a top-tier Zelda game.

Abbreviated dungeons? The damn tower has 20+ floors! The puzzles are fun though. And I like the train. It's fun to just ride around the map at full speed and shoot stuff...

The Tower of Spirits, like the Temple of the Ocean King, is not a dungeon in the classical sense of the Zelda series. The other non-overworld areas are definitely abbreviated. For instance, it took me less than 15 minutes to clear the Ocean Temple. In Ocarina of Time it took me about 30 minutes to clear the Ocean Temple.

@doanjoey It wasn't really "Legend of Zelda" in the ways we think of "The Legend of Zelda," though. The Triforce really had no role in the game, it broke away from the usual Zelda games, and it is getting ridiculous that Nintendo constantly cell shades the games and limits the amount of exploration you can do. I agree, the game as a game was decent, but it lost the basic storyline.

Haha! I love these so much. Unfortunately Spirit Tracks was kind of a disappointment to me. It felt..so short...and the storyline was pretty much 'get Zelda's body back, the end' : / I am a big Zelda fan..but Spirit Tracks is 'eh'.

@Sioreolu Yeah. That I loved. It was way tricky than Phantom Hourglass and I liked the boss battle in the end too. The music rocked as well. The only thing that concerned me was the short as heck storyline...and how they made Zelda so annoying.

This one was pretty funny. Also, it's interesting to me how younger fans complain that Twilight Princess is too easy, while my generation was making the same complaint about Ocarina. I'd still place OoT as one of the best games of all time, however.

You can't forget the cartoon stylings of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, A Link to the Past, Adventure's of Link, and The Legend of Zelda, can you?
Truth is, Twilight Princess is almost the only Zelda game that doesn't look like a cartoon. I don't understand why everyone wants it to look brown and gray and dark like every other boring "next-gen" game out there.
These are probably the same people that objected to having color in a Diablo game.

I just love every Zelda Game but to be honest...ocarina was my favorite...but not any more...it is to overrated...and my opinion...Four Swods Adventures i my # 1...but dont worry...Wind Waker is like...in a tie with Four Swords....and in second place...i will gave it to Spirit Tracks....third...Twilight Princess...and fourth...Phantom Hourglass...and this one is in fourth ONLY because it is like 6 times the Temple of the Ocean King...if I remember correctly...

I think the cartoon look is very suitable for the DS. Graphics in the DS tend to look better when the art syle is cartoony, not realistic. It attacts the next generation of Zelda fans which are the children, while maintaining the mature complexity of puzzle solving for adults.

I loved the toon style it makes it seem more creative and more less scary, Majoras mask, scary and dark it was, was still impressive, but i think making it have two types is good. Besides Twilight Princess wasnt as good as it looked liked it wasnt bad, but i loved the windwaker allot more

I am not against Wind Waker, Ocarina Of Time, Or Majora's Mask. But i am just saying that just because it is cell-shading doesn't make it a bad game, and that i quite liked the style ;)

Every Zelda game has it's good and bad qualities. People rave about Ocarina of Time, making it out to be this perfect game with zero faults.
Twilight Princess and Wind Waker corrected many of the problems I noticed in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask:
- more responsive controls
- better combat techniques
- better graphics
- no stupid 3 day time limit
- better character development
- more realistic music and sound effects

I loved Twilight Princess, it was much more epic than Ocarina of Time. The game had responsive controls, interesting puzzles, challenging dungeons, amazing graphics, a good soundtrack. And Midna is one of the best characters Nintendo has created.
The Wind Waker, from what I played (up to where you find the Triforce shards), was amazing. Some of the dungeons were too easy (the Tower of the Gods), but overall I loved the art style, characters, exploring the ocean, etc.

I found Windwaker harder than Twilight Princess is some parts, like, In TP, I didnt lose A SINGLE HEART vs the spider boss, not ONE, too easy.
TP had a lacking soundtrack, since it was mostly made with MIDI and not actual orchestra, that's why galaxy's soundtrack was so spectacular, the puzzles, while interesting, were too easy, the graphics were ok at best not amazing, I do agree with midna though, she felt more out there.
