2)How to prepare for a descent (including descent rates ft/min, and extension of flaps, with speed and distance in NM of when to descend
3)And last, Landing procedures (visual) how to...
Well imnot sure but i8 think if I was the pilot id make it one of those that hard land because you would need spoilers to take you down quick then sudd turn them of and put throttle and land forward as soon as you touch down or star moving then you take throttle off
I dunno about the 727 ... but there's a video on YouTube of 737 landing a Toncontín International Airport .. He misses the touchdown so by quite some distance... some one used Google earth to measure hoe much runway he had left after he landed... apparently it worked out at approximately 800 - 700 meters ... I guess break hard enough and planes will stop xD... mind you, he didn't stop, he just got it slow enough to turn off the runway.
I was going to ask if the flaps are ALL the way down because on mine I walways put it to 45 (emergency flaps) and it reaches almost the bottom of the tires.
Yea I've done the same, it's because the airplane is soo heavy and when you land you have to have the power at 80% unless you stall because of the weight.
I couldn't help but hear you say " in a somewhat realistic way". Being a training pilot, that makes me chuckle. I did hear you say that you chose a unrealistic setting as requested, but still. "Somewhat realistic way" and "727 lands at St Barts" is pretty much not happening. Nice videos:)
@seattle129 search youtube for "ILS in FSX" or "How to land ILS in FSX" it's quite simple on smaller aircraft. But for larger aircraft it becomes more confusing.
@deltafan909 Wrong. You can, it's just inneffective in braking in normal landings where your autobrakes will work better. Obviously, in this case it helps to keep the reversers at max reverse until whenever to ensure you do not overrun the runway.
@jordanngregory Maybe you don't know one the big reasons that reverse thrust has to be disengaged at or above 60kts. When you get down that slow, you have an extremely high risk of suck up debris on the runway.
And as others have mentioned how'd you stop so fast? Takes me back to one of your earlier videos about the unrealistic stopping distances of the default 737-800. I think I'm gunna go try this right after I try the crooked 747 approach into TNCM.
i agree with michelarjuna realism is cool and all but i play for fun and realism isn't all that important to me but some realism is nice i suppose and i do like your videos thank you
i think the most unrealistic air well no SPACEcraft would be the space shuttle do it from max alt in fsx i'll be hard as heck lol i cant even get the shuttle into orbit on orbiter space flight simulator. almost got it one day but i just cant seem to get enough speed to put the thing in orbit properly for some reason
Hay great landing, I have a question again, sorry, is there a way to simulate rudder movement, without pedals, if I get a flight yoke from CH Products? or do I need to buy pedals as well, Currently, I use a Sidewinder 2 from MS. so I just twist it back and forth for rudder inputs. Any help would be great, and tks in advance.
Hey Cessna, search for Rockwell Aero Commander 500 on avsim. It's a great plane. try it out, you will like it. I guarantee it. I flew it for hours, it is just great for island hops around the Caribbean. it's pretty fast for a prop plane, it's go ta nice vc too. try it!
wow i got a laptop for my bday yesterday and its 799.99 has an NVIDEA and an i5 and a 14' resulution with 4 gigs a ram worth the money get it the flight sim looks great on it u can run 50fps on it on full graphics!
What scenery is this? The default scenery let's you see the feild from far away and high, but when you get close, terrain completely covers the airport!
Not meaning to bash, a genuine question from an X-Planer:
FSX has a lot of excellent payware aircraft, the visuals are stunning and ive heard the flight models are also incredible. Despite this, the stopping distances seem to me to be far too short on every aircraft? Now I'm no real life pilot (yet :P) but from real life videos Ive seen of landings it just doesnt make sense that they could stop that quickly? It certainly takes a lot longer on X-plane :P I dont take sides though :)
If you had to land there in an emergency situation it would be extremely difficult because you need like 0 fuel, but the 727 doesnt have a fuel dumping system. Just saying. Nice vid BTW! Im gonna go try it out:)
If you had used TSR AUTOBRAKE you probably would stop at the damn water! :D
