  • Even though the Asian guy has a really harsh accent, am I imagining things or does he have a far more sophisticated English vocabulary than the majority of Americans?

  • Ultrabook...aka tablets with docks.

  • mac book air anyone?

  • @munkisax mac book air chips made by intel too :p

  • @munkisax Even if it is a Shameless rip off the mac book air, its still cooler. Because its not mac and it dosent cost s Skrillion dollars.

  • @Willaraz sorry but these eat mac airs for dinner.

  • I want to see the flip over touchscreen ultrabooks!!

  • arm is actually better architecture than x86. arm is a risc processor. a risc architecture is much more efficient. requiring less transistors and is less expensive. intel's processors are getting cheaper and more low power sure but they will always be sub par price/performance wise. its simply an architectural limitation of x86. its complex and powerful but clunky. its easier to scale up or down an arm processor. now with multi core..arm is wasting no power..only increasing die size.

  • @trollworkout i just wanted to add..when comparing intel with arm for products of similar clock speeds/caliber intel is 10% faster than arm...but arm is 50% more power efficient. intel only mostly simplifies the cpu and unvervolts/underclocks its products to make it mobile viable. maybe that works for tablets or ultraportable laptops but does not work for cellphones or most mobile devices...with never work. not with x86

  • Shit I accidentally hit dislike, sorry Intel :(

  • @newballin i forgive you

  • @mattdyer1991 portability mainly. But new technology has been released that allows a 15.6 inch screen to be crammed into a 13.3 inch chassis.

  • buy macbook air

  • but it comes with windows :/

  • @elementaryunleashed cause windows is for winners

  • @MrBawbSmith This is usually the case, but Jobs actually did claim that he took part in the design process of all the products, provided suggestions (more like, "Do this or you're fired"), and he claimed that he worked collaboratively with people in all divisions of Apple.

  • @mrhozer of course he will fire someone if they don't do what they're told... it's logical if you pay an engineer and he does whatever the hell he wants he would be fired, right?

  • @wakepa I was about to say that lol

  • I like the part where the guy on the left was thinking that the Asus chairmain was going place the ultrabook in his hand but pulled it away in the beginning.

  • @wakepa Pretty sure its the screen saver, look closely.

  • I like it.

  • This guy does NOTHING but copy Steve Jobs. Presentation posture and product "design" (or lack thereof)

  • This is shame.

  • Do you think the Chairman (or aka BOSS) of Asus, one of top 10 IT companies of the world, is that stupid to show a cracked laptop as a sample? god people are so ignorant sometimes

  • @wakepa no thats just the windows wallpaper and aero transparency turned all the way down making it look like the screen is cracked abit

  • Ultrabooks will be a hit. Who wouldn't want to carry a thin, light laptop.

  • Looks good :)

  • @wakepa HAHAHAHA er no thats the background it's the windows 7 green swirls , I get why you thought it was a crack though ...

  • @wakepa tht guy is so stupid representing it , its always the stupid people

that get the spot light, while the engineers are never hear of.

  • look at the guys face on 0:08 when he sees the crack in the screen..priceless

  • so what do PC people use to watch TV series and movies? Zune is so pricey...

  • this looks like a macbook air kind of device to me,( on the market for many years), not that I'm a big fan of apple, just think ultrabooks are nothing new. just saying

  • @wakepa

    Yep, sure is cracked :p

  • Aluminium case? Apple will sue.

  • what sucks is that you cant customize it...

  • hhhhhhhh broken screen watch that hahahaha'

  • I bet when everything is sued by Apple they will sue them self`s for having "i" in front of everything.

  • too shiny. I don't like the design

  • Only the i3 one will be priced below $1000

  • I am getting this

  • THE MACBOOK AIR IS SO OVERPRI....... Oh wait, how much is the ultrabook? $2000 dollars??!! Never mind, ill take 2 MacBook Airs!!!

  • @daniel98734 There going to be priced from $1000-$1600.

  • @daniel98734 It's going to be priced below $1000, so it's going to be cheaper than an MacBook Air, as well as being given a higher performance.

  • @daniel98734 : nope, it will be close (or below) $1k. so go ahead, pay more..

  • It won't be $2000 but around $1000 to $1500 with upgrades such as (more RAM or an miniSSD?) for higher.

  • Asus makes some of the bodies for Apple laptops, so this is most likely pulled from the batch that Asus makes the MacBook Airs from and given a different look.

Being a hardcore Apple user (for the quality and performance), this is great, I love competition for Apple. And Im typing this on Windows 7, which is an excellent OS as well.

  • @wakepa

You are wrong i saw the same weird shape in LG's ultrabook too.

  • actually, simiilar ux21 and mac air.but i dont think that asus copied to macair. if i develope design for thin only, made similar macair! dear macfanboys,,

  • @wakepa No, that's just the win7 desktop wallpaper showing up through the transparent taskbar.

  • @GeekLion True, altho if really companies would sue others for stealing there idea's, this world would suck! I can do things on MS that I can't on MS and vise versa as I travel a lot... How would that world look like :P

  • @PVTDon MS and Mac*

  • @GeekLion Wait... Didn't IBM released the 1st portable computer called a "laptop"? PS: it had the famous "Microsoft" installed :D How cool is that!

  • Price ?

  • @GeekLion Yeah, I figured that.

I think apple stole their design from a slice of bread then. Bread is only .68 inch thick, you know.

  • @GeekLion What, two flat pieces of electronics that fold together like a book?

  • mtoo boooom eu kero o meu ultrabook logo logo mas prefiro o macbook AIR

  • Apple traps people to be under any copyright claim EVER, seriously, with apple you have no freedom WHATSOEVER!! DEAL with it, im a former user of a Macbook..

  • With Mac, You'll never look back.

    NO COMPRESSION.

All The Respect & Appreciation to every working mind and hand behind APPLE.

  • Personally,, I spend a long hard 10 years with my unreliable windows computers, from all brands that have developed for Microsoft.. after that i switch to .. It was the best switch i have done in my computing live ...

People need a new invention,, and every thing we're seeing now! is already been seen from the one: () Well all we know if they gonna keep chasing & copying  !,

: They will never, ever catch up with ..

  • Switch to AMD APU, they are luch better then intels

  • haha take that Apple!! :)

  • wow not bad

  • Apple is better!Apple is better!Apple is better!

  • Is it just me, or does that exactly look like the MacBook Air I'm using right now?

Even the specs are the same... Talk about uncreative.

  • @Dilster3k Keys aren't black... not brushed aluminum, etc. And they didn't mention any specs soooo...derp.

  • For me a perfect product of 2011 would be:

a super slim laptop running Windows 7 and Android with a rotating touchscreen like the HP Pavilion tx series.

In laptop-mode you'd get the functionality of todays tablet pc's with a physical keyboard for typing and a pen-enabled touchscreen to use with Photoshop etc.

In tablet-mode the OS would switch to Android Honeycomb.

As a graphic designer I see this as a perfect merge of business functionalities (Windows 7) and Entertainment (Android).

  • I guess I'm going to put my laptop shopping on hold.

  • I like the part where Chinaman shows the laptop

  • stop copying Apple and invent your own idea! Jesus Christ!!!

  • @NewOrleansComputerRe lol really?, making a thinner laptop is bad?. ooohh big deal

  • @NewOrleansComputerRe

So do we say Apple copied Microsoft by making an operating system even though the specs are completely different?

Just because it's a thin laptop with a shiny material doesn't make it Apples trademark

    Moron

  • Macbooks air for everyone!? =D XD

  • i like how shiny it is o.O

  • So its a MacBook Air ripoff.......and Intel are calling it a new class of laptops?

Apple introduced the Air almost 3 and a half years ago (January 15, 2008).

Suppose imitation is the best form of flattery :)

  • @rinnin It's all about marketing.

  • wow apple hatts schon ein paar jährchen länger :D

  • i kinda want one

  • Yay Asus!

  • I'm actually worried that apple might sue them.

  • @mendozairis I doubt it's even legal to take the whole market on "thin" laptops.

  • @mendozairis For what? It's not that Apple owns the design? Not the alu, and not battery time? What should they sue them for?

  • @iloveebeeto Well you know Apple. They like to claim copyright of anything. No one's even allowed to use "i" at all.

  • @mendozairis apple can go suck a dick

  • @mendozairis : why, because the battery last longer than mcbook and cost a fraction of the price? LoL!!!

  • @mendozairis

Apple don't know what to sue anymore! AMG UV GOT "APP" IN UR COMPANY NAME!!! ZOMG SUED...

  • @mendozairis it won't! :) because it can't!

  • @mendozairis

I really don't think that they will considering that ALL of the processors for ALL Apple computers are made by Intel, which would mean Intel could stop supplying apple, and severely cripple Apple.

  • @MrGamemaka

In that case Apple will jump to AMD. I am sure OS X is running in AMD in the Lab. Just as an insurance policy.

  • @MrGamemaka That's stupid. why would intel do that? Apple is a major consumer of intel chips.

  • @flagman57 Actually Apple is already using ARM-based CPUs in iPhones and iPads. In fact Apple was going to use Atom chips but ditched that thought and went for ARM instead. But Apple warned Intel that they may end the partnership as chipmakers for Mac if Intel don't improve on power consumption. Intel may be king still for PC and Mac but they do stink on low-powered consumption CPUs.

  • @COYI1895 Intel doesn't make mobile processors. Their mobile atom has not been developed very thoroughly. However, ARM has been making chips for mobile devices for a long time (Nintendo DS, mobile phones etc.). Intel is the most popular for PC's and is also a major selling point because the system structure of Intel chips allows for most programs to run on the device whereas other chips would require a different program to be made for it.Power consumption is improving rapidly with next gen stuff

  • @flagman57 You're right that Intel doesn't do that but to be honest ARM is king when it comes to power consumption. Smartphones demand more power without affecting batt life and this is where ARM is good at and honed their expertise. Intel and AMD approach to power consumption is underclocking and undervolting to reduce the power draw whereas ARM's approach is big.LITTLE concept. Very clever stuff. True, right now they are dominant in phones and etc but they can transfer.

  • @mendozairis Apple is using Intel technology. Apple computers are equipped with Intel CPU. In fact MacBook AIr is part of Intel's ultrabook category.

  • @mendozairis why?

  • I actually really like having a bulky laptop so I don't have to have a desktop as well when I need some good performance so I wonder if this will help that as well.

  • 7 hours is not too shabby,

  • Johnny Shih is da man!

  • I don't really see why people like tablets, considering they do what Laptops have been doing for more than a decade.

  • Since my third HP laptop monitor crashed I am considering a tablet. I may wait to see this in stores...

  • Interesting...Keen to see this
