If the music we can hear in this trailer can be found on the new "Skyforger"-album, I may not be all that wrong when I say that once again we are going to hear some breath-taking melodies and catchy songs! In my opinion it is hardly possible that Amorphis wouldn't do everything a bit better than on "Silent Waters" - just like "Silent Waters" was a bit better than "Eclipse"

In the 90's Tales From The Thousand Lakes, Elegy, Tuonela etc. And now we have Eclipse, Silent Water and in a couple of days we get Skyforger! I'm speechless, best Finnish band EVER!!!

Agreed. Both is SUPERB!! and I think this is very rare in music industry that a band after changing a member (especially a singer) can keep up the quality of their music. And Amorphis is a good example for that.

I love their new stuff and can't wait for the album but appearantly unlike a lot of people here I prefered their old stuff such as 'tales from the thousand lakes' which is my personal favourite Amorphis album, 'am universum' and 'tuonela'.

(I mean let a newbie hear 'Privilege of evil' for exemple and they'll sh*t their pants cursing your name saying it ain't Amorphis)

Tomi Joutsen was the best thing that could happen to Amorphis. The band made a good move when switching from Death Metal to a more cleaner and more mainstream but they're old vocalist sucked. God I cant wait for this album!!

yeah but they weren't all death metal before.... what are you even referring to? Tuonela and AmU have plenty of clean, I even prefer his clean voice to Tomi's. But I'm happy the new Amorphis are still going strong, Tomi is great but I don't mind saying I preferred the old one.

I heard a radio show that played two tracks in entirety, Sky Is Mine and Majestic Beast. Sky Is Mine is a fast song, kinda powerish feel to it (don't freak out lol). Majestic Beast reminds us that Amorphis still writes death metal, heavy and doomish song with a beautiful chorus.

I can't see how anyone with an appreciation for beautiful music would prefer the old Amorphis. I guess those who do, DON'T have a decent appreciation for brautiful music. The old Amorphis was nothing new and nothing unique. The new Amorphis is new, unique, and beautiful.

music is in the ear of the listener, we can't really set what's beautiful or not for others, only for us. the first amorphis song i heard was drowning maid back in the 90's, it was music to me. as time goes, amorphis changed... and they still makes music to my ears. and every year i looked forward to their new work... it's one of my life's pleasures.. cheers!

you are totally wrong. Amorphis played first this type of melodic epic death metal. Tales was the base for this kind. Elegy also was and is the most unique album ever made. I love them. I love every masterpiece of them. but those two albums with Tuonela and karelian were something else...

Unfortunately you're fighting the windmills saying Tales from the Thousand Lakes wasn't anything new. In 1994 it was said they were way ahead of their time, hence selling hundreds of thousands of copies. THAT album inspired bands like Swallow the Sun and Insomnium. I appreciate your opinion on music quality, but something just needed notifying :)
