the fact remains. the rangers couldn't get it done so they got 7 ( 5 time cup winning ) oiler players and a coach plus 5 ( 1992 finals ) hawk players and a coach to get the job done for them. 7+5=12 / add leetch - 4 russians and jay wells and you have your 1994 n.y. / chicago oilers. new york has to accept that cup because it's all your gonna get.

LMAO. Ive made comments on hockey websites similar to this, but never found anyone with a video bashing the Chicago/Edmonton/New York 93-94 cup winner. Great Job! I loath the Rangers and I could probably fill a book with all their antics ruining the game of hockey.One of my good friends is a die hard Ranger fan but even he laughed at this video when I showed him. His response "Ive got nothing to say." ITS TRUE. Only a select few, ACTUAL RANGERS won the cup in 93-94.

the 1994 cup was a curtain call for the 5 time champion oilers and coach mike keenan gave respect to 6 of his 1992 finals players by getting them to play in new york. leetch, richter and the 4 russian players make up the rest of the rangers 1994 team. that 1994 cup banner should have an orange stripe on it somewhere!

i hav e to admit that was hilarious and i am a die hard ranger fan...it is forever my greatest sports moment as a fan in any sport , i die raqnger blue, however the music and the fact that the salary cap was not in place at the time certainly helped them to win the cup..however i will say that leetch kovey, zubov, richter were home grown and we traded tony granado and dougy weight and todd marchant so neal smith does deserve some credit ..this was very funny nice job.. go blue shirts

Just watched this for the first time in a while.
You say there were seven players from the 1991-92 Chicago Blackhawks on the 1994 Rangers Cup team. I only count five: Larmer, Matteau, Noonan, Gilbert and Hudson. (Olczyk was on the Hawks in the early to mid-'80s.) Hudson didn't even play in the playoffs, so really only four. Big deal.

it's a fact in N.Y. that hockey is at the bottom of the list. Do you read the N.Y. papers? Tell me what you see on the back page. It's all about Baseball, Football, Basketball and then Hockey. I work in N.Y. and not many New Yorkers talk about hockey. The only time it gets any recognition is when the Rangers get to the second round and even then it's not a big deal. It's totally true.

As for the other point, you do realize that Park and Giacomin are HOFers, right? And that Richter will probably be there as well in few years? You refer to Park as "just another D-man"--he's arguably the best defenseman of the 1970s not named Bobby Orr or Larry Robinson. I think you should reevaluate your opinion there.

That doesn't change the fact that he was first ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 1988, or his ranking as the 49th All Time Greatest Player in a Hockey News poll ten years later. (Look it up.) Gretzky puts on an OILER jersey and lifts 4 cups, sets records and becomes the most amazing player in hockey history but then he slips that sad ass Ranger jersey over his head and misses the playoffs, goes 25 straight games without scoring a goal, turns into a 20 goal scorer and plays his last game on a 12th place team. I think Gretzky's decline in production was due much more to his advancing age and the fact that it was a different era ("dead-puck" era) of hockey, than it was to the fact that he joined the Rangers. Just a thought.

I hate the Rangers, too. But to say that they're "at the bottom of the list" is beyond exaggeration. They still have a storied history. As for great players, how about Leetch, Richter, Ratelle, Park, Giacomin, Charlie Conacher, Alex Connell, and Joe Primeau? Not all of them won Cups, but all achieved greatness as Rangers.

They're great by New York standards. I can easily name 100 better goalies than Richter. Park was just another D-man but in N.Y. he was built up to be something he's not. The N.Y. media has a tendency to do that. Like Richter, Giacomin was a fan favorite. I'm way ahead of you on hockey history kid. no offense too you too.
