  • They bought it in 94

  • @99theguydude -- and it's as obvious as all hell too. just look at the amount of players the rangers dumped from 1991 to 1994 to get all of those Oiler and Hawk players and coaches. they only held onto leetch, richter, nemchinov and during that time picked up 3 more russians. it's a pathetic way to win a cup but i guess you get really desperate after 54 years! --- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • Also, the Rangers first three cups didn't come in a 6 team pick up league. There were nearly 20 teams at the time including all of the original 6 teams.

As for your precious Devils. They seem to be doing well now. Overpaying aging players, under achieving so called "super stars". No cap room to sign your best players. Not even enough money to form 4 lines with NHL players. So much mismanagement you sound like the Rangers!

  • @JamesKlemm87 - YOU TOTAL FUCKING RETARD! There were just 6 to 8 total teams in the league from 1926 till 1967! - I didn't look it up but you are obviously just a kid.

  • @JamesKlemm87 - YOU TOTAL FUCKING RETARD! There were just 6 to 8 total teams in the league from 1926 till 1967! - I didn't look it up but you are obviously just a kid. the original 6 started in 1942 and ended in 1967 as the expansion era started. i'll say no more except READ A BOOK!

  • @ghytgb -

Hm, seems that there were 10 teams in 1928, the second year the Rangers even existed, a record no team has ever or will ever break, 9 teams in 1933, and 7 teams in 1940. So only one year when the Rangers won the cup were there actually 6 to 8 teams. So I'm retarded huh? I'm going with you're another lonely troll.

BTW, how the Devils doing? Parise on a 1 year contract? Wow, someone wants off that sinking ship.

  • @JamesKlemm87 -- WOW! 10 TEAMS COMPARED TO 30! GUESS WHAT! THE N.Y. LOSERS NEVER WON A SINGLE CUP DURING THE ORIGINAL 6 ERA WHILE COMPETING AGAINST JUST 5 OTHER TEAMS! WHAT A JOKE! THE DEVILS ARE DOING GREAT! JUST LOOK UP AT THE GARDEN RAFTERS AND THEN LOOK UP TO THE RAFTERS AT THE ROCK AND YOU'LL SEE FOR YOURSELF! -- 1994 LETS GO REUNITED OILERS! --- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • This is ridiculous. Leetch, Ritcher, Kovalev, Zubov, and Nemchinov all were Rangers draft picks. In order to acquire all those players from EDM and CHI they had to trade Tony Amonte, Doug Weight, and James Patrick. All Rangers draft picks. In it's own way that's building from within you dolt. Also kinda funny how you fail to mention that Zubov leads the team in points that season. Ritcher records 42 wins (along with 16 in the playoffs) and Leetch wins the Conn Smythe.

  • Get over it. It's been 17 years.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC - As if I'm in any way bothered by something that occured 17 yrs ago! -- Guess what retard! - the Devils got knocked out of the playoffs 11 times since 1994. Do you believe I dislike every team that knocked them out? Try again dip shit! Oh yeah - HANG A BANNER! - 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • @ghytgb Last time I checked the NHL records, the 1994 Stanley Cup Champions are the NEW YORK RANGERS. I can't seem to remember Brian Leetch, Alexei Kovalev or Mike Richter hoisting the cup with Edmonton.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC -- ahhhhh haaaaa haaaaa haaaa! -- you were only able to name 3 players on that 1994 team that were original N.Y. Rangers! there were actually a total of just 6 players on that team that came through the Rangers system. Guess where the other 13 came from. You got it - EDMONTON ( 7 ) + Assistant Coach Colin Cambell - CHICAGO ( 5 ) + Coach Keenan and Healy from NYI. -- ahhhhhhh haaaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaaa! --- HANG A BANNER - HANG A BANNER! -- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • someones laughing now...guess who that is?

  • RANGERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I forgot to put the 1994 N.Y. OILERS ASSISTANT COACH CAMBELL into this video.

  • Ur pathetic ghytgb...looks like the NY Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 94...end of story...now go whack off again

  • man this sucks!!

they made smart moves n beat ur shitload of a team!!

  • funny thing! N.Y. had to get Colin Cambell and 7 players from the 5 time champion OILERS along with Mike Keenan and 5 members from his 1992 cup finals HAWKS team to beat that shitload of a team. funny thing! that shitload of a team took the cup right out of the N.Y. Oilers / Hawks hands the very next year. IT'S GOOD TO BE THE KING!

  • they made trades!! its not like thats a sin in hockey or something!! they got players they needed, like matteau beatin brodeur on a pretty shitty shot

  • wrong again! they got 8 members from the 5 time cup winning dynasty OILERS and 6 members from mike keenans 1992 cup finals HAWKS team to win the cup for N.Y. in 1994. -- Hey funny thing! why couldn't they make trades before or after 1994 to win the cup? it's a perfect time for N.Y. to get 6 players from the WINGS and 8 players from the DUCKS to win the cup for them now! -- 1994 LETS GO OILERS! --- 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY! WHOOOOOO YEAH!

  • 1st of all, its not fucking wrong u stupid douche!! rangers made important trades n beat the devils n won the cup!! GET OVER IT!!! ITS NOT ILLEGAL!!!

  • when did anyone say illegal? the ranger had just a handful of players on the 1994 cup team that came up through their system. we win cups through our system in N.J. NOT though EDMONTONS and CHICAGOS the way they do in N.Y. --- 1994 LETS GO OILERS! -- 8 OILERS and 6 HAWKS = 4 LINES and 2 COACHES! add 6 players and you've got = 1994 LETS GO OILERS! WHOOOOOOO YEAHHHHH BOYEEEEEE - 1-2-3 NEW JERSEY!

  • thats good that u won 3 cups through ur system. so did we n we made trades for our 4th cup. that work 4 u?

  • nope! why doesn't N.Y. clean house and get datzuk - lidstrom - holmstrom - zetterberg - ozgood - fillpila - rafalski and a coach from detroit along with 5 players and a coach from another good team to win it for them the way they had to in 1994 with the OILERS and HAWKS. the 1994 cup team will always be known as the 1994 N.Y. OILERS / HAWKS. it's gotta suck to be a ranger fan and know the truth of this but also have to live in denial too. NYRs 1st 3 cups were won in an 8 team pick up league!

  • dumb shit, thats a great idea

  • it's funny how it's more important to this douche bag to win a championship "through your own system"...get a life buddy...or better yet, try to get some more fans...cause you sure as hell can't compete with the Rangers in that department!

  • the 1994 EDMONTON - CHICAGO RANGERS.

  • of course it's important to win it through your own system. we won our cups by playing devils hockey with devil players not OILERS HOCKEY with OILERS PLAYERS the way they had to do in N.Y. -- if you ply rangers hockey the team will go nowhere as they have proved over the past 70 years.

  • like if other teams don't make trades to win a cup dis guy=shitbagged faggot

  • they do but they don't get 8 members from a 5 cup champion dynasty team and 6 members from a 1992 finals team to win it for them. can you name another team that was that desperate enough to do that? i can't.

  • pittsberg,detroit,anahiem,new jersey,chicago

  • ok, name 8 members from one team that the devils, wings, pens, ducks and HAWKS needed to get to win the cup for them. come on answer the question fully. the HAWKS? they haven't won a cup in over 40 yrs! stop talking out your ass. YOU JUST GOT OWNED ROYALLY !

  • The Rangers got Messier for basically Bernie Nichols and 4 million cash, which is like 8-10 million in cash today. It was a bullshit trade that was money driven, which can't happen in today's NHL and should never.

Messier was even trade talent for Bernie Nichols? You are fucking high, Louie "career minor leaguer" DeBrusk and Steven "waste of flesh" Rice are not noteworthy mentions, they both were TERRIBLE.

  • @ghytgb Man, to stoop this low and make a shitty ass video to prove that you're a pathologically obsessed sore headed freak?....it must have really tore you up inside the Rangers won the Cup. Need Mommy to change your diaper? Get a f'n life dick!!!

  • @6tbonemmvn77 -- hey baby talk, it didn't bother me a bit that the up and coming young devils team with their rookie goaltender (brodeur) lost to a 5 time dynasty OILERS team. i never expected the devils to beat the 5 time dynasty OILERS team. i'm just here to remind you that N.Y. needed the 5 time Dynasty OILERS team to win the cup for them after their 54 year drought. I wonder why the Rangers own GM Neil Smith said he'd kiss Glenn Sathers ass in Macys window if N.Y. won the cup in 1994? hmmmm

  • @ghytgb Where was the greatest player of all time? You know, Gretzky? I think he had a thing or two to do with those Stanley Cup winning Oiler teams. After all, he was on 4 of them!! Coffey is a hall of famer! Kurri is a Hall of famer! Fuhr is a hall of famer! Sorry but Graves is a Ranger. Just because he had a cup of coffee on the 4th line in Edmonton, does not mean he was a great Oiler. Beukeboom was compensation (btw so was Scott Stevens)! Should the Rangers say no thank u?

  • This is priceless.

    The Rangers suck cock

  • i forgot to add another oiler to this video. assistant coach colin cambell. unreal huh!

  • what are you 12? your not a real hockey fan, fucking worry about your own team and stop putting your stupid gay ass videos on here. your probably a 40 yrd old loser who lives with his parents and the only way u feel good about yourself is by making fun of the rangers.

  • you said i'm 12 yrs old and within a sentence you said i'm 40 yrs old. did you know that messier missed the playoffs 5 times as a ranger and 3 times as a canuck. he never missed the playoffs as an oiler. great golfer - not a great leader.

  • ur gotta be the only person to say messier was a bad leader.

  • he was a great leader if you wanted to get to the golf course ahead of the other 16 teams. the facts are the facts. he was great when surrounded by oilers. without the oilers he missed the playoffs 8 times. scott stevens never led the devils to the golf course 8 times! mess hung around to set personal records not to help the team. he spent his last 7 yrs skating around looking pathetic. if he really cared about the team he would've hung em up. he was a selfish prick.

  • big deal they picked up people, stop bitching and worry about your own team

  • nothing to worry about in N.J. -- we've risen to the top through our system not through the oilers or chicagos. maybe you should get off the gay porn sites and check the standings. you'll see the 2009 division champion devils at the top of the heap as always. anything else you need to look stupid at just give me a ring and i'll do it for you as always.

  • Matteau, Matteau, Matteau !!!

  • matteau - a hawk - matteau - a hawk - matteau - a hawk!!!

  • lol this did make me laugh but u know what a cup is a cup... does it make it any better or worse if ur players were drafted by u or if they were traded for/signed especially considering they werent cheating... and the yankees might do the exact same thing this year

  • the fact remains. the rangers couldn't get it done so they got 7 ( 5 time cup winning ) oiler players and a coach plus 5 ( 1992 finals ) hawk players and a coach to get the job done for them. 7+5=12 / add leetch - 4 russians and jay wells and you have your 1994 n.y. / chicago oilers. new york has to accept that cup because it's all your gonna get.

  • LMAO. Ive made comments on hockey websites similar to this, but never found anyone with a video bashing the Chicago/Edmonton/New York 93-94 cup winner. Great Job! I loath the Rangers and I could probably fill a book with all their antics ruining the game of hockey. One of my good friends is a die hard Ranger fan but even he laughed at this video when I showed him. His response "Ive got nothing to say." ITS TRUE. Only a select few, ACTUAL RANGERS won the cup in 93-94.

  • the 1994 cup was a curtain call for the 5 time champion oilers and coach mike keenan gave respect to 6 of his 1992 finals players by getting them to play in new york. leetch, richter and the 4 russian players make up the rest of the rangers 1994 team. that 1994 cup banner should have an orange stripe on it somewhere!

  • LetZ Go 1994 NYR!!!!

  • i hav e to admit that was hilarious and i am a die hard ranger fan...it is forever my greatest sports moment as a fan in any sport , i die raqnger blue, however the music and the fact that the salary cap was not in place at the time certainly helped them to win the cup..however i will say that leetch kovey, zubov, richter were home grown and we traded tony granado and dougy weight and todd marchant so neal smith does deserve some credit ..this was very funny nice job.. go blue shirts

  • and that's why Neil Smith kissed Glenn Sather's ass in Macy's window. it had everything to do with very few rangers being on the team. the 5 time champion Oilers / Keenan and players from his 1992 finals team. that's a pretty tough one to cover up. putting ranger jerseys on them didn't change the truth.

  • that was retarded. you're just pised because the rangers ruined another devil's playoff run. my i remind you about matteu(that may be spelled wrong). NYR!!!!

  • whatever we still won the damn cup that is all that matters at the end. its like no other teams buy players jesus.

  • the rangers didn't just buy players they bought a new team. the chicago / edmonton rangers. --- as n.y. rangers they as always SUCK! --- 1994 LETS GO OILERS!

  • Just watched this for the first time in a while.

You say there were seven players from the 1991-92 Chicago Blackhawks on the 1994 Rangers Cup team. I only count five: Larmer, Matteau, Noonan, Gilbert and Hudson. (Olczyk was on the Hawks in the early to mid-'80s.) Hudson didn't even play in the playoffs, so really only four. Big deal.

  • you said "pete rose isn't in the hall of fame are you gonna tell me he's not great". how can you use a guy that's not allowed in the hof to compare to another? it's senseless! O.J. Simpson doesn't do football comantary. is that because he's not good at it? doo daa doo!

  • bare with me people. school's almost over.

  • it's a fact in N.Y. that hockey is at the bottom of the list. Do you read the N.Y. papers? Tell me what you see on the back page. It's all about Baseball, Football, Basketball and then Hockey. I work in N.Y. and not many New Yorkers talk about hockey. The only time it gets any recognition is when the Rangers get to the second round and even then it's not a big deal. It's totally true.

  • Oh--I misunderstood you. (I thought you meant New York itself is at "the bottom of the list" of hockey cities.) I tend to agree with you here, then.

As for the other point, you do realize that Park and Giacomin are HOFers, right? And that Richter will probably be there as well in few years? You refer to Park as "just another D-man"--he's arguably the best defenseman of the 1970s not named Bobby Orr or Larry Robinson. I think you should reevaluate your opinion there.

  • why isn't this incridble brad park's number retired? pffffff

  • Chief,

Are you saying that Park's not that great simply because his number's not retired? That's your reasoning? Any knowledgeable fan knows he's easily one of the top 20--if not top 10--defensemen of all time.

  • Kid, great players are recognized by their organization and respect is given to them by retiring their number. what happened to the great brad park?

  • I'm no kid, Chief. And look at what you're saying. His number's not retired, so that negates what he did on the ice. That's ridiculous. One, they may retire it at some point in the future. Two, even if they don't, it has no bearing on his achievements.

My friend, a little advice: Learn the art of logical reasoning. I'm not trying to be a dick, but a lot of your arguments don't seem too well deduced to me. Just sayin'.

  • kid,

great players are recognized by their organization and respect is given to them by retiring their number. you kept going on about an offside goal and i told you it happens every year in every series. it's a fact. you still kept going back to the offside goal. kids do that. they get stuck on one thing even after it was explained to them over and over. i truely went to your site thinking you were 15 or so. you kept getting stuck on one thing when it was talked about two or three times.

  • Chief,

You keep repeating things of which I'm well aware. I didn't get "stuck" on anything. I simply pointed out your lack of sound reasoning on one point (Park), and responded to your claims regarding another (the offside goal). (Just because something's "talked about two or three times," doesn't mean it was covered thoroughly.)

And what kids really do is what you're doing: Talking without listening to the other person, and without sound logical reasoning.

  • kid, not recognized by his own organization as great. do i have to repeat this one to you as well kid?

  • Genius,

Repeating something doesn't make it any more correct. They didn't retire his number. That has no bearing on what he did on the ice. That doesn't change the fact that he was first ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 1988, or his ranking as the 49th All Time Greatest Player in a Hockey News poll ten years later. (Look it up.) Pete Rose isn't in the Baseball Hall of Fame--are you going to tell me that he wasn't great? See my point?

  • kid, you're comparing pete rose to brad park! there may be some reason why pete rose is not in the hall of fame. do you know why? hmmm maybe it'll come to you. holy shit you are 15 years old! pffffff

  • Oh my God. You cannot be this dense. (I really am trying to remain civil here.)

I'm well aware of the reason Pete Rose isn't in the Hall--MY POINT IS he was still one of the best ever in his sport, regardless. Ditto for Park, despite not having his number retired. That's the parallel I drew. Something tells me you didn't get good grades in English class growing up. Man.

  • kid, pete rose is not allowed in the hall of fame. did brad park do something wrong to not have his number retired? think before you speak.

  • Einstein,

Pete Rose isn't allowed in the Hall of Fame? You don't say. I wonder what he did!

Look pal, I give up. You just won't listen to reason.

  • you need to listen to yourself. see what i've had to put up with for the last hour.

  • Gretzky puts on an OILER jersey and lifts 4 cups, sets records and becomes the most amazing player in hockey history but then he slips that sad ass Ranger jersey over his head and misses the playoffs, goes 25 straight games without scoring a goal, turns into a 20 goal scorer and plays his last game on a 12th place team. Gretzkys time in N.Y. was just another Broadway show! He was used to fill seats!

  • devils suck!

  • I think Gretzky's decline in production was due much more to his advancing age and the fact that it was a different era ("dead-puck" era) of hockey, than it was to the fact that he joined the Rangers. Just a thought.

  • here's a thought. what has anyone ever done as a ranger? lindros, jagr, flury, shanny. the list is endless! new york doesn't really care about hockey. it's at the very bottom of the list.

  • Chief,

I hate the Rangers, too. But to say that they're "at the bottom of the list" is beyond exaggeration. They still have a storied history. As for great players, how about Leetch, Richter, Ratelle, Park, Giacomin, Charlie Conacher, Alex Connell, and Joe Primeau? Not all of them won Cups, but all achieved greatness as Rangers.

  • mostly fan favorites. not great players at all with exception of leetch and ratelle. the rest are just regular players that hung around long enough to be recognized.

  • Whoa. Brad Park isn't one of the greatest defenseman of all time? Mike Richter, Ed Giacomin, and Alex Connell weren't great goalies? I think you need to read up on your hockey history, bud, no offense.

  • They're great by New York standards. I can easily name 100 better goalies than Richter. Park was just another D-man but in N.Y. he was built up to be something he's not. The N.Y. media has a tendency to do that. Like Richter, Giacomin was a fan favorite. I'm way ahead of you on hockey history kid. no offense too you too.

  • someone is still stuck in 1994

  • and neil smith's tongue is still stuck up glenn sather's ass!
