Mine was Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green playing Wah-Wah pedal for 90 min. Black Sabbath was next, we left after 2 songs. They were pretty lame after listening to Green play.
Cool. We got there late. We thought Fleetwood Mac would be the main act! Man, were we wrong!!! Black Sabbath sucked!! Had some electric cool-aid so the ride home (Miami Beach) was fun!! I bet Peter ripped... Did you see Johnny Winter, there?
Yes, I saw the Winter show that was used on the live album. There were a lot of great shows in South Florida from about 1968 to 1973 or so. Jai Li Fronton, Hollywood Sportatorium all had good shows.
Hey, I went to most of those shows. Jai-Alai Fronton was my favorite spot.. saw Airplane - Allman's when Mike Pinera jammed. The one show I missed was Hendrix @ the Fronton! We went to the 2nd Atlanta Pop Festival, instead.. Hendrix played there, it was July 4th, I think the Hendrix show @ fronton was July 2 or 3, just before the Atlanta Pop show... Johnny Winter is playing @ the Culture Room Dec 15.. I got tickets... Are you going?
excuse them... Fleetwood mac was a band with more experience behind them...and they were older...
The 3 First album by Black Sabbath has his classic moments but it was too basic & repetitive... i think that by 72 or 73 the band was developin' a more richer sonic experience...
Not meant to knock Sabbath, they are a classic band and an inventor of a genre. I am a big Peter Green fan and it was a surprise Peter was playing with Mac. He had left a few months before and came back to finish the tour when Spenser dissapeard in LA
i see "then play on" as a classic of 69...mmmhh it's a precious detail that you give here... he came back when Spencer left for that sect... i should be there...
Yes, it was like the "End of the Game" album, but a lot wilder, faster and louder for about an hour and a half. Green and Kirwan trading licks. Green sang the first verse of Black Magic Woman then they played for the rest of the show. A great memory!!
@BohemianConspiracy Toni iommi plays big stupid primitave prehistoric riffs, with cut off fingers no shame..ha! The one thing he loved his hand become cripple to, So determined he put banjo strings on to see if it eased pain. His heart is bigger than his brain ha! I wish i could say i did the best with what i had.
@dannyhood66 ...aahahahhh funny... stupid primitiv prehistory riffs... that's a great definition of the man...apart of the stupid thing (if i've got to take it seriously) but... if you want primitive irresistible dumb cavern men stuff... try Grand Funk Railroad... Survival lp and check the pre iron-age cover...

The song is not live. At 6:36 you can hear the drum stick click on either the other stick or rim. That click is on the lp.

The audience actually looks more fucked up than the band does.
