It's a scary prospect, Marta. I bought my house 16 years ago, on a 30 year mortgage. As a "first time homeowner," the bank stretched my credit to get me into something that was essentially over my head, but that I COULD do if I worked at it. I'm still working at it, and struggling.

This little house that I bought for $62,000 in 92 is now selling in this area for $200,000! NO FRICKIN' WAY could I buy it now. I don't see how ANYONE can. I'd be living in a damn tent in the woods somewhere...
