I have been a member of Co. E since 1999 & President since 2004. I have never heard of you, I know the Drew listed below. Please let us know what group your with.

  • 2ndWisconsinCoE,

to tell you the truth, i haven't heard of you either, probably because i have not been able to reenact since 2003 because of my work schedule, also i don't really pay any attention to the others in the regiment, but hey i might be able to be there this year ill have to wait an see

  • the comment i posted a few months ago was just to give information on who i was, I'll let you know if ill be there this year

  • @captainkeys12

Paul, that would make more sense but your post made it seem like you were a current member. I look foward to meeting you sometime as having been a member since 1999 I don't recall having met you at a any past events as part of Co.E.

  • please don't make things black n white!...i want to see the uniforms! milwaukee

  • My name is Drew Young. I am 22 years old and I live in Green Bay Wisconsin. I am A civil war reenactor. I am a member of Company E 2nd Wisconsin infantry volunteers. Company E is in this video. My rank is Private. And I enjoy reenacting at Wade House. I have been with Company E for 4 years now.

  • I have 3 videos from this year at the Wade House showing the 2nd Wisconsin overtaking our lines. You might want to check it out to see if you're in them.

    Pvt. Robson

    2nd Virginia Infantry Division

  • awesome video one of the best ive seen. i was there too. im a confederate drummer and im going this year too i hope you'll make another great video

  • nice im goin this year its next week im goin confederate my impression is im a 13 year old teen who gets brought to the army with his dad and goes in to the confedrates nmy name is really steven but my impression name it Timothy Shiloh Parker

  • Do you have any footage of Mockingbird Theatre Company? They were at this same event too! :D

  • I only stayed for the first battle and pretty much stayed in that one spot.

  • Were you the guy with the flannel shirt and wood tripod on the feild? if you were, I was behind you when you were close to the crowds.

  • It is on the weekend of september 25th and 26th I believe. I'm pretty exited to go this year. Hope you get another good video in!!!

  • I'm going to this this year! I just joined the 2nd Wisconsin Company E, infact, I've met all the people at 0:43 and are good friends with them.

  • Awesome....Im hoping to come back and film more. Pass this video along to your friends. If you remember let me know when Wade house is doing it again.

  • This is a really good venue and the event has tremendous potential. Unfortunately, it's a common problem with many events but there is never enough infantry on the field. The 2nd Wisconsin does a fine job with what they have, but I'll never understand why more Iron Brigade units-from Michigan and Indiana- don't make the trip. It's a long drive, sure- but you'll never find friendlier or more outgoing event sponsors than at Greenbush.

  • where was Jim Dumkee in the video?

  • I'm sorry, who is that?

  • As a participant in this reenactment, I really enjoyed watching this VERY WELL DONE video. Thank you!

  • Awesome, I am glad you enjoyed it. This was my first attempt at filming a reenactment. Next time I would love to get more onto the field.

  • really amazingly done... one thing that i noticed is the southern part of Wisconsin is really into knowing more about and keeping the knowledge alive on the Civil War. I had a third great uncle who passed away during the Civil War. Many people named after him in the Ozaukee area. jodie

  • Thanks. My Great Great Grandfather and his two sons served in the Civil war. One of them was killed during Shermans March. All were from Wisconsin. Last name Stanley. We

We were camping at Mauthe Lake that weekened and decided to grab the cameras and film a battle. It was 10 miles from us, Im so glad we went.

  • Participant

  • Interesting choice of music as the soundtrack...

    JFK

  • Nice catch. You are the first to call it.

  • When you're on the field it's like you're actually there... depending on where you're standing, if you're by the crowd then it's like putting on a play but if you were where I was then it's like the real thing it's sweet... just thought I had to say that.

  • Were you filming or a participant?

  • Yeah I'm from 1st Virginia Co. H Wyatt's Batt. artillary it's really fun reenacting I think it just makes life more interesting.

  • This was my first attempt at filming this type of event. I truly enjoyed it. I should try to get on the field like the other filmmakers next time though. Were you in this video?

  • I was there but I was in the way back you wouldn't of been able to see me.

  • Better than most historical films made by hollywood...

  • 2 good cameras and my time machine, except when I was back in time I stepped on a butterfly.Whos this George Bush, George Clooney was president.

  • Nicely done, too bad I did CS Navy there this year. But looks like you got the Berdan Sharpshooters, so good job!

  • Thanks for the nice comment.

  • I was at the reenactment, a member of Co. K. Fantastic job!

  • Thanks. I wish I could have been a bit more mobile to get more footage. If you know anyone in this video make sure to share it with them.

  • Awesome, baby, awesome 'n cool, baby, cool!!!

  • Thanx.

  • Cool! When did you guys go to this?

  • Last Saturday when we were camping at Mauthe Lake.

  • Those rebs must have been pretty ugly. Hardly any footage of the confederates.

  • Ugly as sin. Unfortunatly I was based on the Union side of the field.

  • I thought I was going to get a credit!

Nice editing, but the camera work was FANTASTIC!

  • Sorry, I missed it, it's at the beginning.

  • My dad and I went to one of these once, The cannon fire reports were intense.

  • The first time it fired I nearly jumped outa my skin.
