  • That guy is Keanu Reeves.

  • love. see you 2morrow night joe.

  • What part of Alberta you guys are from? Really good beat and great lyrics! Thoroughly enjoyed!

  • whaat. why do i feel this song is telling me that the quest for happiness is futile?... :(

  • I find that all the choices made described in the song seemed justified, at the time at least. It's all impulses and thoughts that have crossed all of our minds in similar generations/economic backgrounds. It's a matter of what we act on. The fact that the person gained such self-awareness at the end of the video is a part of the story that only the lucky can come to, as messed up as that seems. It's just natural parts of growing up. Everyone cries about it, if they're paying attention.

  • I'M NOT A HIPSTER

  • Good lyrics but I'm not a fan of the singer. He comes off so arrogantly.

  • @bubsadoozy it's an act

  • Not a hipster, but this was great

  • "We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell."

    — Oscar Wilde

  • to the boy buying fuel who scribbled the name of this song down on the back of a receipt for me to check out: thank you. and your presence was an essence. you said we shared energies and i want to share music with you and i think we would make some shade of altruistic friends.

  • liam looks awesome with long hair

  • Thanks for that. Now excuse me while I kill myself.

  • Genius music. Love it. Can't wait to see The Joe live in a few weeks!

  • I love the Joe mostly because Ive met him in real life and loved him he told this really weird story about this kid getting swarmed by tiny horses which i though was weird and we live in the same city! EDMONTON FTW

  • "You felt you built this house without a door to get back out" - Accent sooo Canadian hahaha. awesome song

  • Rippin them multies

  • im cool :)

  • this man is a genius. I am buying your album man

  • Sounds kind of like Paul Barman

  • @BestCoolGuy22 For sure, except not as sexually focused lol

  • The futility of the ever elusive quest of cool...I smiled.

  • this is genius. should be more recognised.

  • this i just, lovely

  • Is "The Joe" the name of this artist/band?

Where can I get more of this ironic satire?

  • @TKMVillar olduglyco (dot) com

  • it's satire, dummies

  • This is a great song

  • AMAZING herd this on the radio last night!!

  • @mellowfellow00

    Pfft, mainstream.

  • Sure is /r9depressing/

  • Sure is /r9depressing/

  • This doesn't relate to me, but this is depressing. What was the point of this.....

  • I'm not a "hipster"

that's too mainstream, I call myself something different, you probably haven't heard of it

  • @jfpacelli

    Very nice.

  • lol @ hipsters trying to rap

  • I fucking love the joe. What a wit.

  • I can relate somehow

  • This literally was my life in a 4min song. =[

  • Comment removed

  • wow i dunno why but for some reason that just depressed the shit outta me

  • @bassmanjake666

I think that means it was a success, right?

  • @bassmanjake666 Same here. I hated hipsters and laughed my ass off till the end when I just felt so bad. I feel sorry for them now

  • That was crazaay awesome! :) Proud that you're from Edmonton

  • This makes me miss Edmonton and my friends who are in this video.

  • This song really reminds me of an ex boyfriend I had when I was 16....HAHAHAH

  • I'm an not an advocate for Autotunes, I believe that it is destroying hiphop, and many agree. But I really hope that the egineer (if he or she has not shot themselves in the head) will apply autotune to all this guys music. I have never been so frustrated with music lol

  • @arya721 i disagree. I saw them live. His voice makes it enjoyable. I rather a unique voice then some auto tune crap.

  • This is fucking awesome

  • DAMN STRAIGHT!

  • wow this is brilliant

  • I LIKED THE part WHERE THEY SAID OORGASM

  • No, you're cool.

  • Dope,

    Thats some innovative shit

    Shiest

  • Oh wow! That was amazing! So good to see a couple of those faces I haven't seen in a long time!

  • YES Christian Hansen at 1:03 !!

  • excellent, really enjoyed it

  • The Joe never ceases to amaze me. We need more of this kind of hip-hop these days. Very intelligently written, lots of theological and indie references that most people would not be able to pick up in a single listen. Mr. Gurba, you're cool!

-Double A Ron from OC Remix

  • oh edmonton.

    books! books! books! jj!

  • Gord Steinke!!!!!!!!! He is so Edmonton.

  • I still like the joe, even after I had to clean all his stickers off my bathrooms. Fucker. Guess you're rap's that good.

  • @theonlyidris haha, soooorrry.

  • Haha this is great!

Reminds me of me almost mostly not quite.

I could at least olly up a curb... I haven't read The Road. and I don't get laid as much.

Is the nose-ring guy from Shout Out Out Out Out?

  • @Dilutedled laid by your WIFE you mean

  • I think some people are missing the point of this song...

  • what's the point/meaning?

  • @MackABeeny, in all honesty I can't say what it does or does not mean. Everyone will interpret it differently, as they should. But I can almost guarantee this song is not about "how much hipsters suck". IMO the song is about growing up and trying to find your niche in life. It plays off common threads that almost every middle class kid sees or experiences. I think it's a great song but it really sucks to see people jump on the "OMG HIPSTERS RUIN EVERYTHANG!!!1" bandwagon.

  • @Yetiman223: almost every WHITE middle class kid, you mean! you must be a hipster to respond like that, thinking it's all about you. and sorry, but hipsters do kinda suck. don't get defensive just cuz the joe thrashed your cute little subculture!

  • @carlosmenzca oh my goodness why it is always a race thing? I like that everyone can feel safe to share opinions but can people stop hating on everyone and just enjoy music or look at other music. People are not labels so stop picking on people. Its connection through music not hate. Thanks.

  • @BellaMorte17: it isn't ALWAYS a race thing. but being a hipster is a race thing cuz hipsters are white, middle-class and college educated. the song and video is a critique of that sub-culture. it has everything to do with race.

  • @carlosmenzca People consider Cadence Weapon, who is not white, to be a hipster. He seems like one, except for the fact that he is talented and driven etc. etc. I always thought hipsters were rich kids with no direction, and as a result they acted accordingly, hanging out and getting high, dressing ironically, obsessing over music and art, etc. etc. i know a lot of hipsters in my city that are different races. some of the indian kids i know are hipster as fuck.

  • @according2 - yeah, i'll give you that. asian kids and white kids do share a lot of similarities. i've seen lots of asian hipsters too. most hipsters are white though cuz everything about it is white to the core.

  • @Yetiman223 Well the Joe live in Edmonton and I can honestly say that the Joe did catch wind of this on the internet because here there's not that many "hipsters" that live here.

  • @MackABeenY

it's pretty much an anthem for growing up in edmonton.

or at least, trying to fit in with a music scene/theatre scene/university scene. we've all been there...

  • this is very cool.

  • hipsters are dumb fucks, this video owns
