This CArtoon , made me want to have a Super power to turn into a DOG ! .....i would pretent to turn into a Dog .....and scare my little sister ....Classic Memorably
remember watching this when arriving home from work-it was on just before the bbc 1, 6pm news broadcast-was around 5 mins duration.i think it was year 1976 as well.
@michaeln544able News was on at 5:40 back then. That 5:35-5:40 slot was gold dust to producers. Roobarb, Perishers, Wombles, Ivor, Clangers, Paddington....
I think you'll find Grange Calveley was born in Cheshire England & Roobarb was based on his Welsh Border Collie and Custard on a fat cat that lived next door.
Howdy people, this is a brilliant cartoon and the fella behind it, Grange Calveley, an Aussie artist is soon to be on facebook and wishes to hear people's views of R and C, especially in Britain where it was hugely popular. There'll be a R and C fan page with links to Grange, so if anyone wants to let him know why it's such an enduring carttoon or maybe chat to the man himself, get on facebook. Cheers, all the best.
This song reminds me of the inside of my mind....any twopenny psychologists out theret .....go on try?/..lol
...great to see this again...however I have seen this prog,Bagpuss,The Clangers+The Banana Splits all of them on LSD a fair few times ...the Banana Splits won but the Rhoobarb theme tune is my fav!!
LOL - Listening to this after reading your comment - I can totally see why. I can't think of a more perfect tune for it. The filthy 'guitar' and farting synth suit the purpose well :D

arobekie 7 months ago
@arobekie Hmm - I'd challenge that, considering that at least 2 of those programmes were aired in the same slot... on BBC1, just before the news.

@alcockell Challenge what?what has being aired in the same slot got to do with whatever it is your challenging.

i can still remeber watching this as a kid, back in the day when the world still had videos, and that theme has been stuck in my head ever since
i was always confused why Roobard percks up his ears in the intro, he never did in the show, so why does he do it in the intro?
