this really does help! its been around for thousands of years. just make sure no one walks in your room while your doing this. LOL! ....but i recommend this for anyone, even good for weight loss.....it feels like it XD
there is a lot of negative comments. i think its jealousy. i agree chrisman -their dvds are awesome! kundalini yoga has so much weird stuff around it and ravi & ana have made it normal and asccessible. i know i am always guaranteed to feel good after even 15 minutes of their practice. i love anas voice here - so sweet. and i love the black hair - go back to black ana!
If that were true - why wouldn't they get some friends to counter all the negativity on youtube???
I have a few of their DVDs now. They are honestly the most awesome yoga DVDs I have ever found. They really are that good. I love Kundalini Yoga and adore the Breath of Fire!

I'm currently very interested in yoga, but, I'm wondering if what is experienced is more of an effect of hyperventilation than something greater. I'm not trying to speak badly of it, I'm just wondering...anybody care to share their thoughts ?
Breath of Fire is the opposite of hyperventilation. It increases oxygen levels in the blood and decreases carbon dioxide. Keep in mind Breath of fire has been around for thousands of years and is not something Ana Brett & Ravi Singh invented. It is also called Bhastrika. Its great for instant energy and is said to be "more aerobic than aerobics." I do it whenever I need a lift. I recommend really listening to the advice Ana gives here. The way they present it here is a great way to learn it.

Ana, thanks for putting this on line. your kundalini yoga DVDs I got on amazon helped me to get into yoga, which is something that i have been wanting to do for a while but have felt too intimidated to go into a studio.
This is the very best lesson in breath of fire I have seen and the only one you should need if you listen to Ana carefully. Breath of Fire is a good warmup for the core before and during workouts. I use it during other workouts not just during yoga.
Great that Ana & Ravi are bringing these techniques to the mainstream!

can you just do this breath if you do not do yoga? I have a hard time coordinating my stomach in and out with my breath.....
