@ADollsHouse420 thanks for the kind words....the one in this video in a mojo glass slide. I like that one and the jim dunlop thin pyrex slides (thin in circumference not thickness) it's on a few videos.
@DAVWAVE George is impressive for many reasons. Strictly as a guitarist, he's limited (which he uses to his advantage). As a songwriter and overall musician he's definitely a world class force to appreciate. Because of his guitar technical limitations, he focuses on finding just the right notes to serve and propel the song. The results are memorable solos/parts ... not just riffing/noodling ( <- not a fan of that word)
I believe Harrison used the "OPEN A" tuning for this slide work.
Try that tuning and and the riff at 2:47 on ATMP album cut - its the only way to make that riff to sound just right. Please shoot me a reply afterwards.
@88stars hmm ... open A doesn't really make sense for the song. The song is in G. Maybe open G (which is very similar to A) . Another reason i usually choose standard over open tuning is so i can play both the chords and the solo live. If it's open tuning, chords are harder/impossible to play.
If you check out my vid for Thats the Way it Goes i use my version of "open G" and it makes things easy.
when playing slide is it better to play with a clean setting or a distorted setting?

@TheBeatlesfan1991 if it's low volume using overdrive/distortion will help sustain the note. Clean would be fine if you can crank up the volume.

PLEASE continue to do videos of George Harrison's solo work. There's no one else out there doing what you do & it's SO important. Thank you! :)

So, JP, how impressed are you with GH, and how would you describe his overall abilities. I am enjoying your series.

For this song it doesn't seem as necessary.
