@Old68honda Your tach does not reflect the true speed of the engine speed. It should rise immediately when you twist the throttle. Remove the cable and lube it well with light oil.
You need a new tach! Nice looking Cl, I have a 1971 CL450K4 w/6k orig miles. Always get someone walk over at gas stations and tell me they used to have one! Don't ever sell it! :)

Those CL's were even classics back in the day and had the best sounding pipes at least through 1971 when they had to tone them down abit.
