  • This is the REAL Final Fantasy 2! All those years Square deceived the western gameplayers and never told us about this game or the third.

When I found out about this game I nearly creamed my pants!

  • Oh how the main theme of FInal Fantasy has evolved. *Sigh* :')

  • Music from 3:30-4:22 went hard..

  • I had that game for super Nintendo. It was awesome

  • whats the song at 2:01 called

  • @tasteyrottingchrist Castle Pandaemonium

  • DEAD? They can't say that on an american Nintendo game at the time!

  • @TheGreatMazinger Whatchu talkin' bout Willis? This is the best entry. VII can kiss II's ass.

  • Wow. I remember playing this game YEARS ago. That opening music still make me nostalgic.

  • Gotta be one of the must underated games ever made!

  • Oh man! I so remember bausing the heck out of this game's leveling system...

    Good times,

  • hey guys check it out, i learned the bassline from final fantasy 2

  • "Ineffective"? Ineffecitve my ass! GET UP!

  • heh swan lake beginning rip off.

  • @TheGreatMazinger I agree with you. The leveling system is great...if you're a masochist especially.

  • is this final fantasy IV? or the true final fantasy II

  • @riceball23 This is the original Final Fantasy II. Final Fantasy IV was for the SNES.

  • @riceball23 this is the real final fantasy 2. final fantasy 2 was also released for the GBA in USA with FF1 as well in the same cartridge with updated graphics. if im wrong please correct me.

  • @riceball23 It is the true final fantasy II.

  • Is it me, or is the music in this game fairly Middle Eastern, or Arabic sounding?

  • 5:19 is actually called Templation of the Princess but yeah it's like swan lake xD

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124

Its actually called "the queen's lure" on the soundtrack, but a lot of the music from 1 and 2 are straight from swan lake.

  • @AlphaOmegoat On a video I watched it was called Templation of the Princess but yeah it's going to have different names.

  • In my opnion, this Game is Very Good and Very Underrated. much better that FF1!!!

A shame: this game is are so underrated! and FF1 is overrated compared in this Game.

FF1 is original some in things, however is tipical history for RPG. and...

    FF2 Have:

    Original History for Nes.

One the Best RPG songs for Nes.

I Liked system upload arms and magics. is Original and Very Good.

    is need skill for:

Leave your chars and your magics in a big level.

and for be able make 100% in Game.

  • what's the song at 4:21 called?

  • Swan lake in 8-bit?:

  • Wow, I first played this game on the GBA and could not imagine how the original versions of the tracks sounded at all since they were so complex there... these are very good for NES.

  • i'm a dis-liker of the FF series, don't like any of theese songs :\

  • 5:19 is a tchaicovsky ballet

  • This game has some of my favorite music in the franchise. The Rebel Army theme is amazinggg.

  • whoa. swan lake.

  • Thank God there are people who understand me...I loathe new generation FF with all these fanboyish cliches...FF1 to 6 were good games.

  • @labradoido VII and IX were good.

    Just....don't mention VIII. Please.

  • I love main theme of FF2. One of the greatest 8bit music.

  • I remember this game. I was young.

  • I would play this ff...if not for the leveling system. bur is is an FF so I will have to play it somehow!

  • This is the first and only FF game I've played, and I really liked it! A huge playing time, a great story, nice character, big world. Well, I'm happy with it, oh, forgot, great music too XD

  • I always loved FF games. I love the 8 bit music in this game. I am currently playing it on my PSP on a NES emulaor. Loving it too. i have played all ff's except for number 13 :)

  • lovely music!

    nice program!

  • i really like the 2:01 theme thats the last stage in emperor´s castle right? or pandemonium something like that

  • YOUTUBE AUDIENCE, these play lists are the best easy listening to put on while doing homework.

  • @LEATHERrebelJUSTICE

Agreed. Try the FF:Tactics entry as well.

  • thats all i listen to when doing homework or studying

  • @LEATHERrebelJUSTICE that is so true... i did my homework yesterday listening to these themes and, unlike the usual, i got everything right... wierd...

  • @LEATHERrebelJUSTICE I'm listening to this while doing math work in a computer math class. :D

  • @LEATHERrebelJUSTICE i actually am studing for a exam XDDD

  • @LEATHERrebelJUSTICE What a coincidence... I'm doing my homework right now.. oh yah.. and replying to a year old comment like a boss.

  • wtf? Swan Lake? lol

Never knew that was in FFII

    Where you hear that? lol

  • @andrewalbon When the Lamia Queen tries to seduce Firion while disguised as the princess, I believe.

  • I love old videogames midi, they remind me of the classic videogames. Before all the fancy graphic, voiceactors, instrumentals music and so much more. Just the midi music, and storyline was enough to put a smile on my face.

  • I love the 8bit nes game sounds. NES music all the way!

The battle music is my fave from ff2

  • che sound..wowowo,meraviglioso!

  • That babttle you just saw is impossible, you start off with no magic and other things and those black knights slaughter you so that there is an excuse to wake up at the rebles base where Leon has gon missing but is in fact working for the empire now... WTF

  • It's nice to see the evolution of some of the main FF songs throughout the series.

  • Have you got the theme of Mysidia Tower?

  • The music in this one is so mellow and depressing, love it.

  • I wish they would have released this one here. Such a great game. I don't know why square stopped the translation. Would have been awesome to get this and FFIV for the SNES at the same time.

  • Yeah but most of the people would have bought IV instead of II because it's more advanced and Square would have lost money... You can still consider yourself lucky, here in Europe we had to wait the seventh episode to see the FF franchise in our contries all of that just because in Japan they were sure we didn't like RPG...

  • possibly but you have to remember I and many others didn't get a snes when it first came out. I wanted one but it was too expensive I didn't get mine until late 92. And I loved my nes and would have still gotten it anyways even if I had had a supernes because of the first one. I think it would have still made lots of money but you're right IV would have probably outsold it. (being such an epic game).

  • good game still hate the skill gaining rules I mean damn

  • I found this to be a tough game on the gba, but when I sat at the beginning leveling up, I hadn't realized I over-leveled myself. I made it through the end of the game without leveling up much more. haha

  • Oh wow, it sounds so old it reminds me of Final Fantasy Adventure. (Not like that's a bad thing of course. ^^ In fact, I love that game and it's music. :D) It sounds kind of weird listening to music like this again though compared to how everything else sounds. Heh heh, the good old days are great aren't they? ^^

  • This is like the black sheep of the final fantasy series. Thanks for uploading!

  • Agreed. The end was fucking ridiculous. An NPC told me that Ultima was the best spell against the final boss, so I spent forever leveling it to level 16 and it did NO MORE DAMAGE than it did before. Due to a limited inventory space, I threw out my blood swords and had no idea they're pretty much needed to beat the game. The story was innovative, but the gameplay, damn. It's no wonder I don't play the Saga series and didn't like 12 that much.

  • There are several rumours on how you max out Ultima - some say you simply need high Spirit, some say it's completely random, and others say you need to max out the character in *all* stats and magics.

  • no 3 is the black sheep. You get to fight the devil in this one. Who doesn't like to do that? Just equip 2 weapons on the whole party. You'll kill everybody before they can do anything. Beat the main boss in 3 turns. The nes version is bad. Most of the jobs are useless and the main boss has one stupid attack. the first 2 and the snes trilogy are the pinnacle of the series. The remake of 3 is good though.

  • I meant the way you upgrade your characters stats. On all of the others you battle to gain points which go toward stats. On this what action you take inbattle determines what is upgraded.

  • What song is played in 2:02? I can't remember...

  • Castle Pandemonium.

  • 黒騎士倒しやがったw

  • Was 255 the max stat?

  • ofcourse not. Your looking at the "cinematic" battle at the beginning of the game--although you have control.

You can max everyone out at 9999hp 999mp, i think?

  • No, this game is really bitchy in that it lets you level up to hexadecimals, so the theoretical max HP/MP is actually FFFF and FFF.

    Takes FOREVER. XD

  • The overworld theme is so beautiful.

  • And the one at 2:02 is good too.

  • Geez, Overworld sounds way better on the NES version surprisingly.

  • Actually, I think the song loops quicker ont he nex version. The psx version is slightly extended. I like both. ^_^

  • Listening to this is so weird, as I'm used to the PSP version's music. But I do love some 8-bit music! :)

  • I love these old NES versions and I love the updated ones too. In my opinion, FFII and III had better than the original for the most part.

  • the FF you played was FFIV this is a NES game that was never released here

  • I loved the Overworld theme that begins in 0:54.

  • Ahh, the music from FFII is probably my 3rd favorite soundtrack in the series. Great choice of songs for this video. :]

  • Cool to see the original sequel. I like the eerie track at 3:30.

  • aaaahh! The debut of the chocobo! A staple in the Final Fantasy series.

  • Did Square rip off the theme from Swan Lake???

ON a side note, I want to turn the 3-5th song into piano arrangements

  • You are absolutely and positively correct. That's Swan Lake and I'm totally shocked. lol. Never played this FF so I had no idea.

  • Did u use some kind of cheat in the beginning in order to kill the riders?

  • The footage is from another dude on YouTube, but from what I remember, he pulled it off without any cheats.

  • that is cheating. u are supposed to lose that battle, and u don't have Ultima

  • I prefer this over the remastered version. What do you think?

  • I haven't really heard the re-arranged GBA or PSP versions, so I can't say for sure. I'm sure I'd enjoy listening to all of them.

  • Do you play FF much?

  • Sure, I love the series. I've finished all of them, except for FFII.

  • Have you ever played FFII? If not you should,it is a worthy but underrated sequel to FFI.

  • I probably will one day, but it's not at the top of my list. You do know that I did a 35-part multi-hour series on the FF series, right? I've been a fan since the first one on NES.

  • So good to meet a true FF veteran, who's been there since the very beginnig.Usally the so-called FF fans I meet have only been on board since FF10.I've been a fan since FF6(3 in the U.S. when I was a kid). Oops! I'm making you feel old again.

  • It's cool, I like being an older gamer. I've followed most major franchises since the beginning, and I've refined my tastes over the years. I'll always play the main FF games though, that's for sure.

  • even the shitty ones? I mean, I lost faith in them when Numora began getting waaay to happy with the steampunk clothes and the zippers. not to mention all the hair spikes...

  • Well, even though the newer ones aren't likely to top my favorite list, the one thing about FF games is that I can always find something in there to enjoy.

I mean, I hated the actual gameplay to FFXII, but other aspects made it worthwhile enough to play for me. Like I said, I'll keep playing the main games, but on the flipside, they won't govern my life like the old ones did.

  • @garudoh well keep in mind the older ones also came with you being younger. when you grow up you are undoubtibly going to lose interest somehow

  • @0mnislasher89 Been playing FF since FF4, Personally when they went 3D they began to Suck (in terms of Gameplay feel and Story) the music sucks after 10

Still FF is a game that be around forever.

  • @0mnislasher89 I understand what you mean. I remember playing the very first FF me and my brother had like 4 cartridges of it so we could each have a save as it only had one save slot LOL

  • @garudoh i've played allot of final fantasy games! so that makes me a veteran?

  • Do you mean FFII in America or FFII in Japan?

  • Japan.

  • Right, thanks.

  • Epic!
