I actually like both versions (Eliza's and Tom's). I think both artists poured a lot into the song when they sing it.

Eliza's had a sense of "I'm taking control of my life and I'm going to grow into a better person"

Tom's is more of a " I haven't been living my life right so I'm going to change and be better."

Both versions are amazing. And I think we need to have a little respect for anyone brave enough to put their work out there.

There is no comparison whatsoever!!! The depth of power yet frailty, the passion portrail and feelings Tom puts into each every song is beyond whatever Eliza could ever muster. Sorry to get anal but I have to be honest, Tom's version is far, far superior! I respect your view, but have to give mine.

I think I like Eliza Bennett's cover more. This version makes me a tad bit sad. And, Eliza's vocals give it a more upbeat feel.

Then again, that was the first version I heard.

Tom Baxter seems to be a genius however...

It's not totally pessimistic and gloomy, in Finland we have got some totally melancholic pieces of music! In this song, the major scale is used both in reverse and during the verses... No wonder the Rasmus is finnish!.. But I wish we would be known of something else than dark-gloomy-depressive-wintery music :P

The cover from Eliza gives it something extra... it gives it spirit,... this sounds a little too depressed. Doesn't make you wanna sing along, Eliza's cover does...

With the song from Eliza you get a kick, not with this version from Tom.

But of course must we be thankfull for the man singing it, if he had nog sung it first, Eliza probably never covered it!!!

Comparing Eliza's version with Tom's is like comparing Leona Lewis' version of Run and the original Snow Patrol version...

They are both great covers, but they are just that... covers. Nothing beats the thought, feeling and power of the original (and nowadays with the growing alienation of our identities and distance of our true art, it always has a fantastic significance to appreciate an original and measuring it by its own merit and not comparing it to a copy - even a very well made one...)

Elizabeths cover is rubbish, void of any emotion. It makes the song sound generic and rubbish. The song is perfect as is, his voice has a beautiful distressed quality and is sang the way it was intended to be.
