Thank you so much for sharing! If and when I have kids, I will be reading them that book! :) Big hug and a big thanks! I'm going to go spread this around to my friends!
Homosexuality is as much alive as the winds, the waters, the laughter, the togetherness, etc. What you say or do only reveals how you see yourself and the world you live in.
People want to be right. And when they really want to be right, they bring in their "elite" Religion. Religions are a group of people who decide a certain way to live then make up their own beliefs and then enforce it on other people. A Religion isn't a Religion unless that need to enforce beliefs upon others is present. If not so, it shouldn't be considered a Religion.
I agree with you, im a straight dude and i would have no problem with my children reading that book. Shit, I'd rather have them read it and discuss it with me that hear the hatefull opinion of some folks in this world. It's kinda cool but i must admit, it would come as a shock to me too as I realized what the title actually meant.
morals have nothing to do with religion. It's a set of guidelines that your parents should give you to get you started. The rest are figured out on your way through life.
Your comparison is way off. Owning slaves is wrong and so a book about that would be promoting that wrong behavior. Now if this book was gay bashing then your comparison would be spot on but it's not, it's displaying that it's ok for two men to love one another.
I do not agree at all. I do not think that a childrens book should have controversial subject matters that take away from the greatest gift a child has : HIS IMAGINATION... When force fed adult issues, you rob a child of childhood.. all things learned are in due time.. a kid does NOT need to know about GAYs or GAYNESS until he/she is ready, asks questions, and encounters a situation that he/she needs knowledge. Dont be fooled by the "educating" of children on all things. They deserve to be KIDS
I see your point. But my kids are young, I only read it to them once, and I 'm sure they didn't even get the point. Now if I was reading this story to them over and over again then maybe you could say I am force feeding them.
My point was that I am cool with reading this type of story to them. I know others would not have or been disgusted by it. The fact that there isn't even a children's book about this is what I like.
@Melindaca2 Some kids have gay parents, gay friends, gay family members, ..and some are in fact - gay! It's a fact. Kids deserve to be surrounded by loving people.
funny you say that.. I have kids, whom have a gay aunt. I would take my children around their gay aunt, and the part about what they do, and how they love one another did not come up. Nor did I choose to educate them on it until age appropriate. Little kids should be fantasizing on how to fly to the moon.. not why so and so is with so and so.. today, and not tomorrow. Childhood happens ONCE, love leaves... gay or straight... I tend to think "teaching" gay is over a small child's head.
But it's not. You seem to think "teaching gay" whatever that means - is teaching sex. That's stupid.
It's called King and King not King and King Get Down.
Maybe you think you can 'catch gay' from noticing that gay people exist. Parenting has little to do with it. My charismatic very Christian grandparents to their surprise produced two straight kids and two gay kids in the 50s when no one discussed it.
Oddly enough, I am not being a hater in this area.. I think kids are most definitely taught things adults need to worry about. and preserving their minds are far superior than dealing with anyone's relationship matters, MALE, FEMALE, GAY straight.. Kids learn the world soon enough, it is too bad adults try to rob them of their innocence by making sure they UNDERSTAND everything.. it is not their job to understand,.. their job is to be a kid! I am not anti gay.. I am PRO KID and CHILDHOOD!
@Melindaca2 I'm prokid and pro childhood too. One of the reasons I didn't have kids was I had no interest in trying to raise them in this poison culture. Gays are not on my list of toxins. I would be much more worried about my kid spending time in front of a boob tube which turns them into thoughtless little consuming machines with violent fantasies than I am in letting them read about two boys or girls that care about each other.I'm more worried about 3 year old girls dressed up like hookers.
I hold strong to my opinion, kids do not need to know about adult issues, as parents need to protect their minds. I personally find it un-natural, and get a very uncomfy feeling when it is exposed to me in a way that is not of an "individual", and presented to me as a representation of who they are; that of a LABEL "GAY".Kids can form their own opinion when it is age appropriate. If I get a weird feeling, than why expose my kids to it? Besides, they have tea parties to attend.
Melinda - you might have gay kids. You harm them by not dealing with your homophobia. I am not suggesting you talk to your kids about sex. We agree that sexual information is not appropriate for kids under a certain age. Love and sex are separate topics for gays and for straights. You of course have the right to shelter your kids however you choose. But what if they are gay?
Kids form opinions based on what they are taught. If their parents are bigots, they are likely to be bigots.
I already know you are pro-butch due to your inability to see through eyes of a child. U lack of understanding on what I am saying, and you intent is strictly to SELL gayness. I am not homophobic. I am just not into selling GAY to children. U have the right to do what you want, and you have the right to be un-natural. This subject was about children. Children is the subject! .That is what gives gays a bad name, not the fact they are gay,the fact they have to sell every1on being gay!
Funny jane... you preach gay love by calling me names? LOL.. better go take a long look in the mirror, and rethink this loving gay thing.. the loving part is not working out too well for ya!
I'm not preaching 'gay love' I am telling you that you are taking a bigoted position. It's not 'calling you names' its telling you to your face that your behavior is bigoted.
I'm not a 'loving gay person" I'm a pissed off straight woman telling you that you are full of shit.
"Kids can form their own opinion when it is age appropriate."
So, in your opinion, children aren't actually boys or girls until they're adults? And, who has a mommy and a daddy, verses who has a mommy and a mommy, is purely an adult issue? That kids should be protected from? Even if that means keeping them from going to their friend's house?
I'm sorry, but unless you want to seek out a protectionist community, your kids ARE exposed to reality, however you feel about it.
I do not need to expose my kids to all the ways of the world, nor did I. it is too bad, people like you think that kids need to know EVERYTHING. They don't. their job is to be a freaking KID, and enjoy their childhood. if you can't understand that, you are a contributing factor of why I tried to protect my kids mind.. often a losing battle... sorry you can't see this as being important.. you teach about gayness, I will teach about flying to the moon! see who has HAPPIER more accepting kids!
Either you are suggesting that childhood means being ignorant of all gender ideas (an utter impossibility) or you are implying that your particular take on gender roles is the only one that is "right". It is that simple. You are either being a bigot or you want the impossible.
Know what, nevermind. You are obviously too attached to your prejudices to see that this is no more threatening to a happy childhood than a story about a prince who finds a princess.
Nevermind dude, you don't get it.. lets conform the entire world to tell the kids of the world SANTA does not exist.. because Paul and Paul is a better story for their little imaginations.. OR King and KING, whatever the case may be... that way you will feel better about YOUR gayness.. lets all adapt to YOU and YOUR lifestyle.. ! Much better then a child thinking santa is coming to deliver gifts.. Gay is much more up their alleys!?!?!?!?! God help this world!!!
Typical. When did I even hint about my sexuality or gender identity? You know almost nothing about me, yet you are sure you know about my private life.
I said nothing about Santa or traditional stories. Girls dress up as princesses and play house before they even go to kindergarden, so they already have ideas about gender. The only difference between you and me is that you pretend that they are all straight and anything else is a corruption... I just don't think anyone should be left out.
You still haven't shown any reason why allowing children to accept a wider world limits them. How is a little boy's imagination limited when he is NOT told he can't wear a dress? How are little girls' creativity stunted when you don't say they can't play house with two mommies? You have in no way demonstrated a reason why this story robs a child of more innocence than a story like sleeping beauty, where a prince kisses a princess. The only person you're trying to protect is yourself.
You will not get it... obviously the world does not get it.. people are so into teaching their kids crap they do not need to know until they are older; which essentially steals and robs them from childhood--- their imagination, their creativity, their OWN personality... Should I sit down and read a book about divorce? Death? Marital Separation? or no.. Just about Gay love??? These are "realities" in life.. and I still choose to encourage kids to fly to the moon! But you can teach the gay thing!
Seriously disappointed that people like you want to teach reality... kids learn it soon enough.. right after they learn santa never existed.. Holy crap.. how you want to rob kids from their imagination, their creativity, their excitement in life, and be a miserable person that sits on youtube defending a kids book about the serious crap in life... I do not get it.. I will never get it... I would not want a parent like this nor would I want to be a parent like that!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Thats horrible that someone wold try to tell a child that young in book that being gay is okay...well its not..really your not a christian if your gay because in the bible it says men are to woman as woman are to man only.
Being Gay is wrong...
At least your children dont know what you read to them was REALLY about.
well, there is a lot in the Bible, and you for sure are not obeying it... check on pearls, pork, pork skin, stoning (btw we critizise some country who still obey those rules...), .... luckily times change!!
OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!! Your children are so truely blessed to have you as their father! <3 I really do wish more people were so open and willing to teach their children the way of love and acceptance, these are the people who make the world a far better place to be in. I hope that you are proud of yourself as a parent because you earned the right to be. Keep on going the way you are and lots of love and light your way. <3
I think this is awesome. (stumbled) Finally, a children's book that shows all walks of life. It's depicted as innocent as in which if it were a Prince and Princess. Things like this urge society forward, and I hope that one day, we can all be together as people, where love is love, and not love within gender boundaries. I hope my children can live in a world where there is no discrimination in this manner, and books like these will expedite this. Thank you, you have given me hope for our world.
williamhbonney55 and GodGunsGutsGlory: you seem to be basing a lot of if not all of your opinions on religious teachings or your beliefs. So this reenforces the fact that children believe or model their thoughts based on what they are taught by their parents. You were most likely raised in a family with christian beliefs. Think if more people started accepting homosexuality. Over the years the hate towards gays would be in the minority of society.
If we're talking about acquiring behavior via modeling, there's no "rule" that says that the son imitates the father's behavior, and the daughter imitates the mother's. Indeed, many families see quite the opposite occur. ("What can I say? The girl likes to go hunting with me.") Sex does have something to do with whether behavior is imitated, but kids are more affected by the behavior of their PEERS than of their parents. Sexuality is an even more complicated matter.
No, not really! I'm a psych major. Had to learn about all this stuff for Psychology of Learning. Great class, try to take it if you ever get the chance.
One reason I would take psychology is to see what makes people tick. Why a minority of people are gay? What I could do to help them leave that lifestyle? Also what is the major causes of divorce and what can be done to prevent it?
There are a couple of serious hypotheses I can think of which would help explain why homosexuals are a minority. One involves social modeling. How many homosexual people do you bump into? And are they punished or rewarded for "being out"?
Another is biological. It seems that a number of homosexuals are born into large families with very sexually active mothers (another minority). The mother's immune system can become very efficient against the fetus.
My thinking is that some gay people has messed up hormones.
My wife was concerned about our oldest son because she was still taking the birth control pill for a while when she was first pregnant. Also many gay men were bullied as kids and made to feel not very masculine. Some lesbian females were deeply hurt by possibly a male relative. Maybe she was heavily criticized for liking hunting and other masculine activities.
We don't find a trend between homosexuality and certain kinds or levels of hormones. Behavior depends on a special combination of genetics, environment, and current circumstance. I can only really tell you what we don't know.
BC while pregnant results in birth defects and sometimes miscarriages. I don't think there's a link. He should be fine.
Like I said, it's a special combination. I'd be surprised if we ever found out in my lifetime.
A lot of homosexuals wouldn't consider it "helping." They seek acceptance rather than remedies. Some, for some reason or another, are perfectly willing to change their sex lives. I won't deny them their self-determination, maybe they can. But for sure, they have to WANT to change before you could ever "help" them change.
I do know that women's sexuality seems a lot more malleable than men's. You'd have more luck with them.
There's a strong correlation between getting married younger than 23 and getting divorced later on. There's also a trend of multiple divorces.
"and what can be done to prevent it?"
Making individuals wiser, more intellectual, more conscious, more thorough, etc. Subservience on one side or the other used to be enough. Times change.
I'm just happy that some churches are willing to deal with the issues. In the past everyone wanted to just sweep things under the carpet and hope the problems would go away. Religious and Conservative people are never going to except homosexuality.
Did you know that out of all the people that play Halo 3 that only 2% are female? Also that the Canadian government wants a percentage of women to join the Army and police and yet females typically do not join. Anyone that says that men and women are no that different are insane.
I don't think she cares. Just like she really doesn't care about religion. If you were to ask her if she believed in god or anything in the bible she would simply say "i don't know".
And I think a more accurate statement would be that you feel that it is wrong.
It is not hard to prove that homosexuality is wrong.
One can argue from a biblical point of view or a nature point of view. Either way it is wrong. Gay people cannot procreate no matter what. If God would have made Adam and Steve the world would not have become populated. You and I wouldn't be here if everyone was gay. In nature homosexuality doesn't work.
No same sex relationship can duplicate what 1 man + 1 woman is. Yet they want marriage and family just handed over to them. Even if it means ruining the definition of marriage, and creating an even larger demand for babies so CPS can steal even more of them from GOOD man + woman parents. (CPS is a mafia, operating outside the law on tax money plus money coming in from Foster/Adoption).
I like how the gays make us out to be the bad guys. Meanwhile they say that teaching our children that homosexuality is wrong is child abuse. I could see them trying to take away our children just for that reason and making it so that loving heterosexual parents would cry and have a nervous breakdown because their children are taken away because of trying to teach their children right. Some heterosexual parents would fall into such a depression that they would commit suicide.
Indeed. But keeping a baby or children with their NATURAL mother and father to properly bond isn't important to the perverts who practice unhealthy and unnatural acts or important to the perverts who run CPS and the likes.
Every CPS agent I've talked to have no clue about parenting.
If a man marries a woman and finds out that she is infertile it is still a heterosexual marriage. Also I believe that God allows for some people to be infertile. Maybe those infertile heterosexual couples are supposed to adopt children.During WW2 an infertile heterosexual couple saved the lives of some Jewish children. The woman said that if she had, had her own children she may not have taken the risk.
Would your affection for your partner lessen if you found out that she was infertile before you married her? How can we know homosexual couples aren't supposed to adopt children? I'd expect many would like to, and many children would love to have a home.
If a guy knew she was infertile before hand then it is likely that he didn't want to be a dad. I knew a heterosexual coup[le that didn't want to have children. The couple made good money and just wanted to have lots of toys and sail around the world when they retired. You are trying to play a sympathy card. First of all an infertile heterosexual couple and a gay couple are completely different. No matter what a child needs a mom and a dad.
No, I'm not trying to play the sympathy card. I'm just questioning whether or not we can establish whether homosexuality is "unnatural" and "wrong" on the basis that there's no procreation. We have no problems with infertile individuals marrying heterosexually. And we have no problems with their using modern medical advances to have children, either ("assisted reproduction").
I'm in favor of adoption myself. More than biological or non-biological parents that they can call "mom and dad," a kid needs to feel wanted, and they need a home. I'd have to say being raised in an orphanage or by many foster parents (nothing against foster parents) is likely more damaging than being raised by a homosexual couple.
I understand your position, though. You've likely noticed the decline of modern society emerge as quickly as the the traditional home disappeared.
I am a married man and I have two boys. Children need a mom and a dad. I could never take the place of their mother. My wife could never take the place of me. A women cannot teach a boy how to be a man. A man cannot teach a girl how to be a woman.
Janet Boynes was called out of homosexuality by God's love.
Love Won Out is an ex-gay ministry launched by Focus on the Family
The perverts think a man to an adopted daughter is equal to a MOTHER is to her daughter when she starts puberty, starts her menstrual cycle, asks about sex, gets married, gets pregnant, has a baby.
No way a man = a mother's role and vice versa.
Look how screwed up kids are when they are missing a parent and raised by a single parent. Another man don't make a mom. Another woman don't make a dad. Only a evil pervert would subject children to homo parents!
William, that's simply not true. A man *can" teach a girl how to be a woman. I grew up in an all-male household with two dads and two brothers, and I'm perfectly fine. I think you have a limited view of what men and women can do. The ability to nurture a child doesn't depend on what's between someone's legs. It depends on what's in their heart. What can a mother do that a father can't do? They're both capable of taking good care of a child.
William, individuals are all different. Maybe you can provide me a specific example of something that only a mother can do? A good father should be just as capable of taking care of a child as a good mother. As for me, yes, I'm perfectly fine. According to anyone who knows me. I'm a nice person who is caring and compassionate. I'm a good citizen. I work hard and pay my taxes. I've never been arrested or in any kind of trouble with the law. What do you think is wrong with me?
My dad was a good provider. He worked hard. He took my brother and I to hockey games. People have differences and yet people are not all that unique. He tried to teach my brother and I different things. However he didn't hug us or read to us at night. He didn't take care of our emotional needs. You seem to lack the understanding when it comes to the sexes. Men are stronger on average.
William, my dads were good providers, too. They also worked hard. And guess, what? They took us to sports games, too. And they *also* did the stereotypical things that moms are expected to do. They hugged us and they read to us at night. There is no reason your father could not have done the same. It was his choice not to be a nurturer; it's not like he was biologically incapable of it. I have a perfectly good understanding of the sexes. I simply don't think people are limited by their sex.
Studies have shown definite differences between males and females. In order to have women in the military or police they had to lower the physical standards. One study showed that women are better at memorization. Women are better at communication. A Harvard study showed that the male voice is more commanding then the female voice. I'm on vacation right now so I will post replies but not to often. Just to let you know.
William, I think that's debatable, but what does memorization and/or having a more commanding voice have to do with taking proper care of children? There is no *action* that a mother can do that a father cannot also do. And vice versa. Any parent can read to a child and sing to a child and cuddle a child and dress/bathe/feed a child. Any parent can make a child feel special and loved. If your father was unable to express his love in that way, it does not mean that all men are.
I was just showing that there are differences between men and women. As far as debatable you only thing you can say is that not every man fits into the mold and not every woman fits into the mold. That is why they say on average. As far as parenting when children are asked who is most important in their lives they will say their parents. When asked who is the most important they will say their mother. If you deny the differences between men and women then you are lying to yourself.
William, I'm not denying any differences. I already said that everyone is an individual. Not every woman is cut out to be a good nurturer, just like every man is not cut out to be a good nurturer. To deny that men have the capability of nurturing a child or being the most important person in a young child's life just seems kind of ridiculous to me. Single fathers and gay fathers have been proven to raise children who are just as emotionally healthy as children who have mothers.
I do not know many men that would be comfortable about talking with their daughter about their period. A mother would speak to her daughter before it happens. How on earth is a woman going to explain to a boy what it means to be a man? More important an example needs to be set. How is a woman going to set an example to her son of what it means to be a man? She can't.
William, you may not know this, but every woman's cycle is different. A mother would not necessarily have anything *special* to tell a girl about her period, since every girl gets it at a different age and experiences different symptoms. My parents *did* talk to me about my period. They were very open about it. In fact, after I got it, we went out for ice cream to celebrate. There was no awkwardness or confusion. They were always very clear that I *could* talk to my aunts if I wanted, as well.
William, you seem to have a lot of stereotypes. Women can't discipline their children? I know plenty of families where women are disciplinarians. I know lesbian moms who've raised very respectful teenage boys. Women cry about their children's disappointment? In the first place, not all women cry easily. And in the second, place, there's nothing wrong with crying! Men and boys can cry, too. I can't believe in 2009 that still needs to be said. What's wrong with a man crying?
"Men and boys can cry, too. What's wrong with a man crying?"
>> What's very interesting about that statement is that when it comes to the general consensus, nobody cares about the tears of a man or a boy. Beyonce"s recent anti-male diatribe "If I Were A Boy" proved it hands down.
When a boy or a man cries, he's referred to as a sissy, or at the very least, he's passed by and ignored.
When a girl or a woman cries, a man is immediately accused of rape and sent to jail.
Final, honestly, from the comments you've made on other videos, it sounds like you believe there's some kind of anti-male conspiracy in the world. Have you not looked around and noticed that men worldwide are the ones with the most political and religious power? Women in America are lucky that things are much more equal here, but they're still not perfect for us. Of course, they're not perfect for men, either. I'm against any kind of gender limitations or stereotypes for anyone.
Just the simple fact that the homosexual agenda (which is run mostly by females) has reached almost right past to the point of no return seals the deal right there.
Unfortunately, your surroundings have you COMPLETELY BLIND to the cold, hard, very depressing realities of gender relations.
--Traditional marriage doesn't benefit men because it stands to decimate his family rights, property and assets
--Women have more rights and entitlements than men.
In all the cases I know the only reason men grew up and took responsibility and settled down was because of traditional marriage.Men that are in a traditional marriage tend to live longer.
My wife and oldest son were ill before we left for vacation. My oldest son still feels ill. We waited a few days before leaving so that he could see the doctor. My wife was crying the day before we left. I came upstairs and asked why she was crying? She said that our youngest son was very excited to go but she felt that we could go yet and our youngest son would be very upset. Men do not cry about things like that.
She said that our youngest son was very excited to go but she felt that we couldn't go yet and our youngest son would be very upset. Men do not cry about things like that.
Anyone that is for gay marriage and gays raising children are people that refuse to except that men and women are different and that children need a mother and a father.
William, as far as Focus on the Family is concerned, I don't see them here debating on Youtube. I can only respond to people who make statements here, and when they make comments that don't make sense to me, I feel compelled to respond. By the way, I do hope your son feels better!
I think that I would have to make a video in order to explain things better. I do not think I do great justice to this debate in text. I do feel sorry for you though.
William, if you make a video, let me know. In the meantime, I don't see why you should feel sorry for me. I have a good life. I have a fulfilling job and a nice apartment and a wonderful boyfriend and two adorable cats and a great relationship with my dads and my brothers. No one's life is perfect of course, but I consider that I have been lucky and blessed. I think growing up with gay parents was really beneficial. I'm open minded and don't feel like stereotypes of any kind should limit people.
I see were you are lacking in your life from what you have told me. Not everything is a stereotype. Have you ever read Men are from mars and women are from venus? Being open minded is wonderful. However it can also be dangerous.
William, what was I lacking in my life? I'm curious what you think I was missing. I consider that my childhood was full and happy. My dads did all of the things that a mom traditionally would have done. I wasn't lacking a nurturing environment. Trust me, I had just as many hugs and kisses as any other child. As far as stereotypes go, I just think it's important not to limit people by their gender. There's nothing about a man that makes him incapable of caring for a baby.
I did the stay at home dad thing for seven years with two boys. No matter what you say a child needs a dad and a mother.A man can take care of a child. My biological mother walked out on my dad when my brother and I were babies. She was a severe alcoholic. My dad chose to raise my brother and I.The lack of having our biological mother in our lives I believe had a profound effect on my brother and I.
Our biological mother had twins and gave them up for adoption because alcohol was more important to her.Although my dad tried his best he couldn't play the mother role. When it comes to gender there are definite differences. Also there are definite similarities. Only women can have babies. However having a baby doesn't make a woman a mother. I would love to work for Focus on the Family. My brother and I have stayed married despite the fact that my dad went through 9 women in 40 years.
William, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I understand that it must gave been a very difficult situation, and I have no doubt that it had a negative effect on you. Alcoholism and abandonment are very bad for children. In addition, your father did not nurture you, and every child needs to be loved and nurtured. I'm sorry that your father was unable to do that for you. But you have to realize that not all children without mothers are in the same situation.
My fathers *were* able to provide the loving, nurturing care that babies and toddlers and young children need. We weren't deprived of that. Your father, perhaps because of his socialization, perhaps because of his personality, was not able to nurture you. But that doesn't mean that all fathers, especially gay fathers by choice, cannot and will not. According to studies, it's just the opposite. Gay fathers have been found to be very nurturing of their young children.
Somethings are stereotypes and somethings are not. I would encourage you to read about studies that are done on the differences between men and women. One thing I was told recently is that only 2% of the people that play Halo 3 are female. Some schools are changing the way they teach boy and girls because they realize that boys and girls have different interests and learn in different ways.
William, yes, I know there are studies on differences between men and women. I did not deny that generalizations can be made, but there is absolutely no evidence that a person's sex has an effect on their *ability to be an effective parent.* That's the only thing we're talking about here. Not video games. Being male does not mean a parent cannot be caring and nurturing and tender. Being female does not mean a parent cannot be strong and assertive.
One thing is that children tend to ask were they came from? A child will ask why they do not have a mother or a father? Depending on the situation. A man can b e a good parent. A woman can be a good parent. However for a child to have two dad's or two mothers is unnatural and unhealthy.
Willia, sure, children ask where they come from. As a matter of fact, I actually had a book called "Where Did I Come From?" when I was little. It's not hard to explain conception to children. If parents need help, there are books available. There are also lots of books for children who were born or adopted into gay families. It's not hard for parents to explain that a child was adopted or conceived through insemination. Plenty of children of straight couples join their families that way, too.
I'm glad you think that men can be good parents and women can be good parents. So I guess I would question why you think having two moms or two dads is unhealthy? If they can both be good parents, what's the problem? Their kids will have the love and nurturing and discipline that they need. Why would it be unhealthy?
This is pointless. Your mind is so reprobate that you do not even understand that a child needs a mom and a dad. Not two dad's or two mom's. I shake my head. It is like trying to explain to you that 1 + 1 = 2 and you insist that 1 + 1 = 3.
William, that's kind of mean. Haven't I been nice to you? Why would you say my mind is reprobate? I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from. If you say something is unhealthy, then doesn't it make sense to explain *why* it's unhealthy? I know you believe children need a mom and a dad, but you haven't explained why two moms or two dads can't provide the *exact same* love and nurturing and discipline.
God created man and woman. He created women so that they can get pregnant and have babies. He created men so that we only provide the sperm. He also created men so that we are stronger and will hunt and gather. A baby hears the voice of the mother from inside while he/she is growing inside the womb. The baby loves to lay on top of the mother because he/she can hear the mothers heart beat and smell the mothers milk. It may bother you to be called reprobate but I shouldn't have to explain the obvious.
A biological mother is like a bear with her cubs. The fact that the baby grew side her for 9 months is a big deal. The fact that she went through labour to have that baby makes her close to the baby. If the biological mother breast fed the baby then there is even more of a relationship between her and that baby. You cannot replace that with two gay pervert men that adopt a child. Also a man cannot raise a girl to be a proper woman. A woman cannot teach a boy how to be a man.
William, wow, do you think straight adoptive parents are inferior and worthless, too? I don't know why you're so focused on biology, but I love my adoptive relatives just as much as my biological ones. And I bet 100% of adoptive parents would fight to the death for their kids, same as any other parents. And that has nothing to do with sexual orientation anyway. Plenty of gay people have biological children, not that it should matter how a child joins his/her family.
The way you talk reveals a great lack of respect."Gay pervert men?" What makes a gay man any different from a straight man? We are all human beings. A gay father is just as capable of loving his child as a straight father. "A man cannot raise a girl to be a proper woman?" Completely untrue. I've already told you that I was raised by two men, and they provided all the love I could have needed. Are you seriously trying to argue that I'm not a proper woman? If so, please explain your reasoning.
Adoptive parents run into problems because when the children grow up they want to know who their mom and dad was and why they were given up for adoption? Many children seek out their biological parents when they grow up. It is still not the same as two perverted, reprobate gays. Is one of the gay "dad's" going to tell the child that he/she came from his arse? Lol! What is the gay, reprobate, pervert going to say to the child when asked why he/she has no mother?
William, wow, it's like you're two different people. What happened to the polite guy I was talking to yesterday? Why are you being so hostile? There's no need for that. Sheesh. I don't hate you, and I hope you don't hate me. In any case, not all adopted children search for their birth parents, and even those that do, absolutely still consider their real parents to be the ones that raised them. Wandting to know your roots is competely different from discarding your adoptive family.
And why is it different if you're adopted by a gay couple or a straight couple? In both cases, the adoptive parents simply explain that the birth mom and dad loved the baby but could not care for a child, so the baby was placed in an adoptive family. It's no different if it's two dads or two moms or a mom and a dad explaining the situation.

It is like talking to a child. I have had enough. You have a reprobate mind. Gay people are perverted, reprobate people. I tried to be nice. I teach my children that homosexuality is wrong because it is.Sadly you were taught wrong and it may be impossible for you to have a healthy mind.
William, I'm not the one who's acting like a child. You have failed to provide any evidence that shows two men or two women can't be equally good parents, so it seems you have fallen back on hostility and insults. I think it's sad that you don't seem to recognize gay people are just ordinary human beings. What would you do if one of your loved ones was gay? Would you disown them? What if it was one of your own kids? Would you just cut them out of your life?
You have a reprobate mind because you think that my wife and I having children naturally is the same as two perverted, reprobate men who adopt and raise children in a fake family.
William, and, again , you think my mind is wicked just because I believe in equality? Why is that?? I just want everyone to be treated fairly. I want everyone to be respected. I think it's terrible that you call people "perverted" and that you say my family is a "fake family." How would you like someone saying that to you? My family is just as real as yours. And it sounds like my childhood was a lot better than yours, since neither of your straight parents were able to meet your needs.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Your mind is wicked and it has nothing to do with equality. Equality is like when a man and a woman can do the say career because they both have the same credentials so they should get paid the same. Two men cannot have a baby. Two women cannot have a baby. It takes a man and a woman to have a baby naturally.
William, apparently my mind is wicked because I see gay people as equal, valid members of society? Since when did I say two men or two women could each contribute 50% of their genes to a baby? That has nothing to do with parenting. They can still make babies and adopt children. Our families still exist, and we deserve to be treated equally. If anything here is wicked, I think it's the idea that some families are inferior to others. It's wicked to treat certain children as second-class citizens.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
A heterosexual couple that cannot naturally have a baby and adopt is still not the same as a perverted, reprobate, gay couple. The adopted child in a heterosexual home will still have a mother and a father. You arguments are not valid.
@WilliamHBonney55 you are a sad angry little man...who needs to look to his own life and perfect it before casting aspersions on an entire class of people.
William, I'm going to have to roll with Heart on this one.
The differences between men and women that you tend to support are SOCIALIZED, STEREOTYPICAL LIES meant to divide us as men and women and keep us at odds against each other.
Men and women are from RIGHT HERE ON EARTH, and women ARE NOT SUPERIOR to men, nor are men INFERIOR to woman, nor vice versa. People tend to believe such lies, then accommodate them by engaging in homosexual behavior to seal our ultimate doom as a society.
One show that my wife and I watched talked about a women scientist that was doing studies on male and female brains. She put the brains under microscopes and cut up the brains and she found out that male and female brains are structured differently.
Feminists have stood to prove (or should I say, propagate) that everything in nature that men and women equally share are not so.
They teach us that women are victims of violence, yet women commit 70% of all domestic violence in the U.S.
They teach us that men are filthy perverted dogs when a male simply MENTIONS the word "girl", but the female libido is HIGHER and FAR STRONGER than the male libido, hands down!
John Gray NEVER admitted this, and that's why he was a hit on Oprah!
Girls are different from boys in the fact that boys never have to worry about getting a period and becoming moody. Boys never have to worry about getting pregnant. Boys are more aggressive by nature. You are denying the fact that God created male and female and that we are created differently because we have different roles to play.
Well at least we agree on something. However you are very arrogant to tell me were I am correct and were I am not correct. If women are so capable of harming people and society then why do we never see it? In all studies it show that when men commit suicide they chose a far more brutal way of doing it then women. The amount of women that join the armed forces or police force is low. 9 out of 10 times when we hear about terrible crimes it is a man that was involved.
Women are far less likely to get addicted to WW2 or Halo 3 war simulation games for WII, XBOX or PlayStation. Yet we live in a society today that doesn't encourage or discourage girls in this regard.
I totally agree with you on this one.. the command of dad, and the love of mom does make a perfect balance. It is too bad people do not understand this.
Some people don't understand that men and women are different but equal. I grew up without my biological mother and I grew up in a very male dominate home. That created an imbalance in me.
I agree about the different but equal thing... one huge prob anymore is there is plenty of gender and role confusion going on.. due to all the imbalances of families as you discussed.. I find it very odd that people want to teach 3-5 yr olds about gays.. I just dont get it... never will!
My oldest son is 13 years old. He hardly really understands his own anatomy. Let alone understanding female anatomy. So why on earth should anyone want to teach youngsters about homosexuality? My sons are 10 and 13 years old. Most times they forget what their testicles are for. Yet both of my sons are doing well in school. The oldest one explained to his class a couple of years ago the full scientific explanation for why the sky is blue. The other one was on the honor roll in school.
It makes me sad that adults think it is AOK to poison kids minds with things they do not understand and SHOULD NOT understand! It makes me even more sad that adults do not think it is bad, and ultimately steal their childhood and innocence away from them quicker then they should have it taken away. I am glad you get it, and it seems we are pretty rare in wanting to preserve a kid's mind. Good for you with having good kids!
I think there are plenty of other things to teach children at the age where they would appreciate this book.
Relationships between people are complicated enough as it is. Children will have plenty of time to determine there "sexual" orientation when the time comes for them.
I don't think there needs to be books for "gay children" because children don't think about sex and relationships.
This book, if anything, would put subliminal messages into a child's mind only confusing them more.
I can see how it could confuse them. But it's not like I have it on my shelf and reading it to them every night. It was a one time deal this video was simply my reaction that the book even existed. thanks for watching.
I was in no way saying you were a bad father for reading this book to your children and I know you didn't take it as such. After watching your video I too thought it was strange that there was a childrens book about this subject.
I just thought that this subject is way over a child's head and much more than they need to be worried about at a young age.
It's like having a children's book on micro and macro economics.
There are somethings best left taught by responsible parents. This is one.
Hmm, but children do think about relationships to some extent. Didn't you have crushes in elementary school? I know I did. It wasn't about sex or anything, but there were boys I was "in love with" and we'd hold hands. Innocent stuff like that. Gay children would be likely to experience the same things. In any case, I don't think kids are confused by homosexuality. I grew up with two gay dads, and I never found it confusing. I knew I was straight from a young age. Either way seems normal to me.

If not so, it shouldn't be considered a Religion.

morals have nothing to do with religion.

Melindaca2 2 years ago
I see your point. But my kids are young, I only read it to them once, and I 'm sure they didn't even get the point. Now if I was reading this story to them over and over again then maybe you could say I am force feeding them.
My point was that I am cool with reading this type of story to them. I know others would not have or been disgusted by it. The fact that there isn't even a children's book about this is what I like.
Clintus 2 years ago
@Melindaca2 Some kids have gay parents, gay friends, gay family members, ..and some are in fact - gay! It's a fact. Kids deserve to be surrounded by loving people.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
funny you say that..
Melindaca2 2 years ago
But it's not. You seem to think "teaching gay" whatever that means - is teaching sex. That's stupid.
It's called King and King not King and King Get Down.
Maybe you think you can 'catch gay' from noticing that gay people exist. Parenting has little to do with it. My charismatic very Christian grandparents to their surprise produced two straight kids and two gay kids in the 50s when no one discussed it.
Kids do pick up hateful attitudes though.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
Oddly enough, I am not being a hater in this area.. I think kids are most definitely taught things adults need to worry about. and preserving their minds are far superior than dealing with anyone's relationship matters, MALE, FEMALE, GAY straight.. Kids learn the world soon enough, it is too bad adults try to rob them of their innocence by making sure they UNDERSTAND everything.. it is not their job to understand,.. their job is to be a kid! I am not anti gay.. I am PRO KID and CHILDHOOD!
Melindaca2 2 years ago
@Melindaca2 I'm prokid and pro childhood too. One of the reasons I didn't have kids was I had no interest in trying to raise them in this poison culture. Gays are not on my list of toxins. I would be much more worried about my kid spending time in front of a boob tube which turns them into thoughtless little consuming machines with violent fantasies than I am in letting them read about two boys or girls that care about each other.I'm more worried about 3 year old girls dressed up like hookers.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
I hold strong to my opinion, kids do not need to know about adult issues, as parents need to protect their minds. I personally find it un-natural, and get a very uncomfy feeling when it is exposed to me in a way that is not of an "individual", and presented to me as a representation of who they are; that of a LABEL "GAY".Kids can form their own opinion when it is age appropriate. If I get a weird feeling, than why expose my kids to it? Besides, they have tea parties to attend.
Melindaca2 2 years ago
Melinda - you might have gay kids. You harm them by not dealing with your homophobia. I am not suggesting you talk to your kids about sex. We agree that sexual information is not appropriate for kids under a certain age. Love and sex are separate topics for gays and for straights. You of course have the right to shelter your kids however you choose. But what if they are gay?
Kids form opinions based on what they are taught. If their parents are bigots, they are likely to be bigots.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
That uncomfy feeling is called homophobia.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
Also - study the science. There is nothing 'unnatural' about it.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
I already know you are pro-butch due to your inability to see through eyes of a child. U lack of understanding on what I am saying, and you intent is strictly to SELL gayness. I am not homophobic. I am just not into selling GAY to children. U have the right to do what you want, and you have the right to be un-natural. This subject was about children. Children is the subject! .That is what gives gays a bad name, not the fact they are gay,the fact they have to sell every1on being gay!

I'm not a 'loving gay person" I'm a pissed off straight woman telling you that you are full of shit.
CityzenJane 2 years ago
"Kids can form their own opinion when it is age appropriate."
So, in your opinion, children aren't actually boys or girls until they're adults? And, who has a mommy and a daddy, verses who has a mommy and a mommy, is purely an adult issue? That kids should be protected from? Even if that means keeping them from going to their friend's house?
I'm sorry, but unless you want to seek out a protectionist community, your kids ARE exposed to reality, however you feel about it.
AutodidacticPhd 2 years ago
I do not need to expose my kids to all the ways of the world, nor did I. it is too bad, people like you think that kids need to know EVERYTHING. They don't. their job is to be a freaking KID, and enjoy their childhood. if you can't understand that, you are a contributing factor of why I tried to protect my kids mind.. often a losing battle... sorry you can't see this as being important.. you teach about gayness, I will teach about flying to the moon! see who has HAPPIER more accepting kids!
Melindaca2 2 years ago
Either you are suggesting that childhood means being ignorant of all gender ideas (an utter impossibility) or you are implying that your particular take on gender roles is the only one that is "right". It is that simple. You are either being a bigot or you want the impossible.
Know what, nevermind. You are obviously too attached to your prejudices to see that this is no more threatening to a happy childhood than a story about a prince who finds a princess.
AutodidacticPhd 2 years ago
Nevermind dude, you don't get it.. lets conform the entire world to tell the kids of the world SANTA does not exist.. because Paul and Paul is a better story for their little imaginations.. OR King and KING, whatever the case may be... that way you will feel better about YOUR gayness.. lets all adapt to YOU and YOUR lifestyle.. ! Much better then a child thinking santa is coming to deliver gifts.. Gay is much more up their alleys!?!?!?!?! God help this world!!!
Melindaca2 2 years ago
AutodidacticPhd 2 years ago
You still haven't shown any reason why allowing children to accept a wider world limits them. How is a little boy's imagination limited when he is NOT told he can't wear a dress? How are little girls' creativity stunted when you don't say they can't play house with two mommies? You have in no way demonstrated a reason why this story robs a child of more innocence than a story like sleeping beauty, where a prince kisses a princess. The only person you're trying to protect is yourself.
AutodidacticPhd 2 years ago
You will not get it... obviously the world does not get it.. people are so into teaching their kids crap they do not need to know until they are older; which essentially steals and robs them from childhood--- their imagination, their creativity, their OWN personality... Should I sit down and read a book about divorce? Death? Marital Separation? or no.. Just about Gay love??? These are "realities" in life.. and I still choose to encourage kids to fly to the moon! But you can teach the gay thing!
Melindaca2 2 years ago
Seriously disappointed that people like you want to teach reality... kids learn it soon enough.. right after they learn santa never existed.. Holy crap.. how you want to rob kids from their imagination, their creativity, their excitement in life, and be a miserable person that sits on youtube defending a kids book about the serious crap in life... I do not get it.. I will never get it... I would not want a parent like this nor would I want to be a parent like that!

williamhbonney55 and GodGunsGutsGlory: you seem to be basing a lot of if not all of your opinions on religious teachings or your beliefs. So this reenforces the fact that children believe or model their thoughts based on what they are taught by their parents. You were most likely raised in a family with christian beliefs. Think if more people started accepting homosexuality. Over the years the hate towards gays would be in the minority of society.
Clintus 2 years ago
If we're talking about acquiring behavior via modeling, there's no "rule" that says that the son imitates the father's behavior, and the daughter imitates the mother's. Indeed, many families see quite the opposite occur. ("What can I say? The girl likes to go hunting with me.") Sex does have something to do with whether behavior is imitated, but kids are more affected by the behavior of their PEERS than of their parents. Sexuality is an even more complicated matter.
proudjester 2 years ago
You are confused! Lol!
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
No, not really! I'm a psych major. Had to learn about all this stuff for Psychology of Learning. Great class, try to take it if you ever get the chance.
proudjester 2 years ago
One reason I would take psychology is to see what makes people tick. Why a minority of people are gay? What I could do to help them leave that lifestyle? Also what is the major causes of divorce and what can be done to prevent it?
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
I could only really offer you my opinion.
The mother's immune system can become very efficient against the fetus.
proudjester 2 years ago
My thinking is that some gay people has messed up hormones.
My wife was concerned about our oldest son because she was still taking the birth control pill for a while when she was first pregnant. Also many gay men were bullied as kids and made to feel not very masculine. Some lesbian females were deeply hurt by possibly a male relative. Maybe she was heavily criticized for liking hunting and other masculine activities.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
We don't find a trend between homosexuality and certain kinds or levels of hormones. Behavior depends on a special combination of genetics, environment, and current circumstance. I can only really tell you what we don't know.
BC while pregnant results in birth defects and sometimes miscarriages. I don't think there's a link. He should be fine.
Like I said, it's a special combination. I'd be surprised if we ever found out in my lifetime.
proudjester 2 years ago
You never know what we will find out. We seem to be gaining knowledge fast these days.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
"help them leave that lifestyle?"
You'd have more luck with them.
proudjester 2 years ago
"what is the major cause of divorce"
There's a strong correlation between getting married younger than 23 and getting divorced later on. There's also a trend of multiple divorces.
"and what can be done to prevent it?"
Making individuals wiser, more intellectual, more conscious, more thorough, etc. Subservience on one side or the other used to be enough. Times change.
proudjester 2 years ago
I'm just happy that some churches are willing to deal with the issues. In the past everyone wanted to just sweep things under the carpet and hope the problems would go away. Religious and Conservative people are never going to except homosexuality.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
Did you know that out of all the people that play Halo 3 that only 2% are female? Also that the Canadian government wants a percentage of women to join the Army and police and yet females typically do not join. Anyone that says that men and women are no that different are insane.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
Homosexuality is a FAILURE on all accounts. And it begins when parents FAIL to teach proper roles in boys and girls when they are very young.
Why do you think they WANT parents and teachers to expose children to FILTH like this book and others like it?
GodGunsGutsGlory 2 years ago
That should say, why do you think the HOMOS (perverts) want children exposed to this filth!
GodGunsGutsGlory 2 years ago
I think you confuse sexuality with gender. What is a "proper" gender role for a boy and a girl?
Why is homosexuality a "failure"? Why is this book "filth"?
You can't have objective answers to these questions.

Clintus 2 years ago
It is not hard to prove that homosexuality is wrong.
One can argue from a biblical point of view or a nature point of view. Either way it is wrong. Gay people cannot procreate no matter what. If God would have made Adam and Steve the world would not have become populated. You and I wouldn't be here if everyone was gay. In nature homosexuality doesn't work.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago

No same sex relationship can duplicate what 1 man + 1 woman is. Yet they want marriage and family just handed over to them. Even if it means ruining the definition of marriage, and creating an even larger demand for babies so CPS can steal even more of them from GOOD man + woman parents. (CPS is a mafia, operating outside the law on tax money plus money coming in from Foster/Adoption).
GodGunsGutsGlory 2 years ago

If the focal point of the argument against homosexuality is problems with procreation, should my marrying an infertile woman be considered wrong?
proudjester 2 years ago
If a man marries a woman and finds out that she is infertile it is still a heterosexual marriage. Also I believe that God allows for some people to be infertile. Maybe those infertile heterosexual couples are supposed to adopt children.During WW2 an infertile heterosexual couple saved the lives of some Jewish children. The woman said that if she had, had her own children she may not have taken the risk.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
Would your affection for your partner lessen if you found out that she was infertile before you married her? How can we know homosexual couples aren't supposed to adopt children? I'd expect many would like to, and many children would love to have a home.
proudjester 2 years ago
If a guy knew she was infertile before hand then it is likely that he didn't want to be a dad. I knew a heterosexual coup[le that didn't want to have children. The couple made good money and just wanted to have lots of toys and sail around the world when they retired. You are trying to play a sympathy card. First of all an infertile heterosexual couple and a gay couple are completely different. No matter what a child needs a mom and a dad.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
No, I'm not trying to play the sympathy card. I'm just questioning whether or not we can establish whether homosexuality is "unnatural" and "wrong" on the basis that there's no procreation. We have no problems with infertile individuals marrying heterosexually. And we have no problems with their using modern medical advances to have children, either ("assisted reproduction").
proudjester 2 years ago
I'm in favor of adoption myself. More than biological or non-biological parents that they can call "mom and dad," a kid needs to feel wanted, and they need a home. I'd have to say being raised in an orphanage or by many foster parents (nothing against foster parents) is likely more damaging than being raised by a homosexual couple.
I understand your position, though. You've likely noticed the decline of modern society emerge as quickly as the the traditional home disappeared.
proudjester 2 years ago
I am a married man and I have two boys. Children need a mom and a dad. I could never take the place of their mother. My wife could never take the place of me. A women cannot teach a boy how to be a man. A man cannot teach a girl how to be a woman.

Exactly.

WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, that's simply not true. A man *can" teach a girl how to be a woman. I grew up in an all-male household with two dads and two brothers, and I'm perfectly fine. I think you have a limited view of what men and women can do. The ability to nurture a child doesn't depend on what's between someone's legs. It depends on what's in their heart. What can a mother do that a father can't do? They're both capable of taking good care of a child.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
You deny that men and women are different? You say that you are perfectly fine? By who's standards?
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, individuals are all different. Maybe you can provide me a specific example of something that only a mother can do? A good father should be just as capable of taking care of a child as a good mother. As for me, yes, I'm perfectly fine. According to anyone who knows me. I'm a nice person who is caring and compassionate. I'm a good citizen. I work hard and pay my taxes. I've never been arrested or in any kind of trouble with the law. What do you think is wrong with me?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
My dad was a good provider. He worked hard. He took my brother and I to hockey games. People have differences and yet people are not all that unique. He tried to teach my brother and I different things. However he didn't hug us or read to us at night. He didn't take care of our emotional needs. You seem to lack the understanding when it comes to the sexes. Men are stronger on average.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, my dads were good providers, too. They also worked hard. And guess, what? They took us to sports games, too. And they *also* did the stereotypical things that moms are expected to do. They hugged us and they read to us at night. There is no reason your father could not have done the same. It was his choice not to be a nurturer; it's not like he was biologically incapable of it. I have a perfectly good understanding of the sexes. I simply don't think people are limited by their sex.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Studies have shown definite differences between males and females. In order to have women in the military or police they had to lower the physical standards. One study showed that women are better at memorization. Women are better at communication. A Harvard study showed that the male voice is more commanding then the female voice. I'm on vacation right now so I will post replies but not to often. Just to let you know.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, I think that's debatable, but what does memorization and/or having a more commanding voice have to do with taking proper care of children? There is no *action* that a mother can do that a father cannot also do. And vice versa. Any parent can read to a child and sing to a child and cuddle a child and dress/bathe/feed a child. Any parent can make a child feel special and loved. If your father was unable to express his love in that way, it does not mean that all men are.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
I was just showing that there are differences between men and women. As far as debatable you only thing you can say is that not every man fits into the mold and not every woman fits into the mold. That is why they say on average. As far as parenting when children are asked who is most important in their lives they will say their parents. When asked who is the most important they will say their mother. If you deny the differences between men and women then you are lying to yourself.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, I'm not denying any differences. I already said that everyone is an individual. Not every woman is cut out to be a good nurturer, just like every man is not cut out to be a good nurturer. To deny that men have the capability of nurturing a child or being the most important person in a young child's life just seems kind of ridiculous to me. Single fathers and gay fathers have been proven to raise children who are just as emotionally healthy as children who have mothers.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
I do not know many men that would be comfortable about talking with their daughter about their period. A mother would speak to her daughter before it happens. How on earth is a woman going to explain to a boy what it means to be a man? More important an example needs to be set. How is a woman going to set an example to her son of what it means to be a man? She can't.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, you may not know this, but every woman's cycle is different. A mother would not necessarily have anything *special* to tell a girl about her period, since every girl gets it at a different age and experiences different symptoms. My parents *did* talk to me about my period. They were very open about it. In fact, after I got it, we went out for ice cream to celebrate. There was no awkwardness or confusion. They were always very clear that I *could* talk to my aunts if I wanted, as well.

More times then not teen boys will run roughshod over their mother. They will not pull the same crap on their dad.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, you seem to have a lot of stereotypes. Women can't discipline their children? I know plenty of families where women are disciplinarians. I know lesbian moms who've raised very respectful teenage boys. Women cry about their children's disappointment? In the first place, not all women cry easily. And in the second, place, there's nothing wrong with crying! Men and boys can cry, too. I can't believe in 2009 that still needs to be said. What's wrong with a man crying?

RAINBOW HEART GIRL:

I'm open minded and don't feel like stereotypes of any kind should limit people.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
I see were you are lacking in your life from what you have told me. Not everything is a stereotype. Have you ever read Men are from mars and women are from venus? Being open minded is wonderful. However it can also be dangerous.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, what was I lacking in my life? I'm curious what you think I was missing. I consider that my childhood was full and happy. My dads did all of the things that a mom traditionally would have done. I wasn't lacking a nurturing environment. Trust me, I had just as many hugs and kisses as any other child. As far as stereotypes go, I just think it's important not to limit people by their gender. There's nothing about a man that makes him incapable of caring for a baby.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
I did the stay at home dad thing for seven years with two boys. No matter what you say a child needs a dad and a mother.A man can take care of a child. My biological mother walked out on my dad when my brother and I were babies. She was a severe alcoholic. My dad chose to raise my brother and I.The lack of having our biological mother in our lives I believe had a profound effect on my brother and I.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
Our biological mother had twins and gave them up for adoption because alcohol was more important to her.Although my dad tried his best he couldn't play the mother role. When it comes to gender there are definite differences. Also there are definite similarities. Only women can have babies. However having a baby doesn't make a woman a mother. I would love to work for Focus on the Family. My brother and I have stayed married despite the fact that my dad went through 9 women in 40 years.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I understand that it must gave been a very difficult situation, and I have no doubt that it had a negative effect on you. Alcoholism and abandonment are very bad for children. In addition, your father did not nurture you, and every child needs to be loved and nurtured. I'm sorry that your father was unable to do that for you. But you have to realize that not all children without mothers are in the same situation.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
My fathers *were* able to provide the loving, nurturing care that babies and toddlers and young children need. We weren't deprived of that. Your father, perhaps because of his socialization, perhaps because of his personality, was not able to nurture you. But that doesn't mean that all fathers, especially gay fathers by choice, cannot and will not. According to studies, it's just the opposite. Gay fathers have been found to be very nurturing of their young children.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Somethings are stereotypes and somethings are not. I would encourage you to read about studies that are done on the differences between men and women. One thing I was told recently is that only 2% of the people that play Halo 3 are female. Some schools are changing the way they teach boy and girls because they realize that boys and girls have different interests and learn in different ways.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, yes, I know there are studies on differences between men and women. I did not deny that generalizations can be made, but there is absolutely no evidence that a person's sex has an effect on their *ability to be an effective parent.* That's the only thing we're talking about here. Not video games. Being male does not mean a parent cannot be caring and nurturing and tender. Being female does not mean a parent cannot be strong and assertive.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
One thing is that children tend to ask were they came from? A child will ask why they do not have a mother or a father? Depending on the situation. A man can b e a good parent. A woman can be a good parent. However for a child to have two dad's or two mothers is unnatural and unhealthy.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
Willia, sure, children ask where they come from. As a matter of fact, I actually had a book called "Where Did I Come From?" when I was little. It's not hard to explain conception to children. If parents need help, there are books available. There are also lots of books for children who were born or adopted into gay families. It's not hard for parents to explain that a child was adopted or conceived through insemination. Plenty of children of straight couples join their families that way, too.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
I'm glad you think that men can be good parents and women can be good parents. So I guess I would question why you think having two moms or two dads is unhealthy? If they can both be good parents, what's the problem? Their kids will have the love and nurturing and discipline that they need. Why would it be unhealthy?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
This is pointless. Your mind is so reprobate that you do not even understand that a child needs a mom and a dad. Not two dad's or two mom's. I shake my head. It is like trying to explain to you that 1 + 1 = 2 and you insist that 1 + 1 = 3.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, that's kind of mean. Haven't I been nice to you? Why would you say my mind is reprobate? I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from. If you say something is unhealthy, then doesn't it make sense to explain *why* it's unhealthy? I know you believe children need a mom and a dad, but you haven't explained why two moms or two dads can't provide the *exact same* love and nurturing and discipline.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
God created man and woman. He created women so that they can get pregnant and have babies. He created men so that we only provide the sperm. He also created men so that we are stronger and will hunt and gather. A baby hears the voice of the mother from inside while he/she is growing inside the womb. The baby loves to lay on top of the mother because he/she can hear the mothers heart beat and smell the mothers milk. It may bother you to be called reprobate but I shouldn't have to explain the obvious.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
A biological mother is like a bear with her cubs. The fact that the baby grew side her for 9 months is a big deal. The fact that she went through labour to have that baby makes her close to the baby. If the biological mother breast fed the baby then there is even more of a relationship between her and that baby. You cannot replace that with two gay pervert men that adopt a child. Also a man cannot raise a girl to be a proper woman. A woman cannot teach a boy how to be a man.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, wow, do you think straight adoptive parents are inferior and worthless, too? I don't know why you're so focused on biology, but I love my adoptive relatives just as much as my biological ones. And I bet 100% of adoptive parents would fight to the death for their kids, same as any other parents. And that has nothing to do with sexual orientation anyway. Plenty of gay people have biological children, not that it should matter how a child joins his/her family.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
The way you talk reveals a great lack of respect."Gay pervert men?" What makes a gay man any different from a straight man? We are all human beings. A gay father is just as capable of loving his child as a straight father. "A man cannot raise a girl to be a proper woman?" Completely untrue. I've already told you that I was raised by two men, and they provided all the love I could have needed. Are you seriously trying to argue that I'm not a proper woman? If so, please explain your reasoning.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Adoptive parents run into problems because when the children grow up they want to know who their mom and dad was and why they were given up for adoption? Many children seek out their biological parents when they grow up. It is still not the same as two perverted, reprobate gays. Is one of the gay "dad's" going to tell the child that he/she came from his arse? Lol! What is the gay, reprobate, pervert going to say to the child when asked why he/she has no mother?
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, wow, it's like you're two different people. What happened to the polite guy I was talking to yesterday? Why are you being so hostile? There's no need for that. Sheesh. I don't hate you, and I hope you don't hate me. In any case, not all adopted children search for their birth parents, and even those that do, absolutely still consider their real parents to be the ones that raised them. Wandting to know your roots is competely different from discarding your adoptive family.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago 2

WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, I'm not the one who's acting like a child. You have failed to provide any evidence that shows two men or two women can't be equally good parents, so it seems you have fallen back on hostility and insults. I think it's sad that you don't seem to recognize gay people are just ordinary human beings. What would you do if one of your loved ones was gay? Would you disown them? What if it was one of your own kids? Would you just cut them out of your life?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago 2
You have a reprobate mind because you think that my wife and I having children naturally is the same as two perverted, reprobate men who adopt and raise children in a fake family.

William, and, again , you think my mind is wicked just because I believe in equality? Why is that?? I just want everyone to be treated fairly. I want everyone to be respected. I think it's terrible that you call people "perverted" and that you say my family is a "fake family." How would you like someone saying that to you? My family is just as real as yours. And it sounds like my childhood was a lot better than yours, since neither of your straight parents were able to meet your needs.

Your mind is wicked and it has nothing to do with equality. Equality is like when a man and a woman can do the say career because they both have the same credentials so they should get paid the same. Two men cannot have a baby. Two women cannot have a baby. It takes a man and a woman to have a baby naturally.
WilliamHBonney55 2 years ago
William, apparently my mind is wicked because I see gay people as equal, valid members of society? Since when did I say two men or two women could each contribute 50% of their genes to a baby? That has nothing to do with parenting. They can still make babies and adopt children. Our families still exist, and we deserve to be treated equally. If anything here is wicked, I think it's the idea that some families are inferior to others. It's wicked to treat certain children as second-class citizens.

My oldest son is 13 years old. He hardly really understands his own anatomy. Let alone understanding female anatomy. So why on earth should anyone want to teach youngsters about homosexuality? @WilliamHBonney55 I think the book teaches about relationships and not sexuality, so I don't see a problem in it.

THE1CALLEDJ 2 years ago
I can see how it could confuse them. But it's not like I have it on my shelf and reading it to them every night. It was a one time deal this video was simply my reaction that the book even existed. thanks for watching.

I was in no way saying you were a bad father for reading this book to your children and I know you didn't take it as such. After watching your video I too thought it was strange that there was a childrens book about this subject.
I just thought that this subject is way over a child's head and much more than they need to be worried about at a young age.
It's like having a children's book on micro and macro economics.
There are somethings best left taught by responsible parents. This is one.
THE1CALLEDJ 2 years ago
Hmm, but children do think about relationships to some extent. Didn't you have crushes in elementary school? I know I did. It wasn't about sex or anything, but there were boys I was "in love with" and we'd hold hands. Innocent stuff like that. Gay children would be likely to experience the same things. In any case, I don't think kids are confused by homosexuality. I grew up with two gay dads, and I never found it confusing. I knew I was straight from a young age. Either way seems normal to me.
