Last few days some nice words after 70 yrs, of very troubling ones, and actions, and associations, and alumni, etc., etc., etc. The main way the MB isn't like AQ is the former are not themselves directly engaging in violence (What's the MB doing when Hamas, the MB in Palestine does? Indirectly engaging.) Best approach: do not enable, empower, the MB in the slighest. Now, I don't think Hussain's really changed v. much at all. Too bad. Muslims who really support freedom are needed.

I think Husain here is correct - we have to treat each of these groups separately. Doesn't matter how the Muslim Brotherhood got started. It only matters what it does now - and what we can negotiate with them. But I also read that link on the video and that goes into some great detail about what we can expect from this group. I feel more informed anyway but I do hope, for the Egyptian people, that they're not trading one regime for another.

@oscarnobel48 Already in 1940’s the Moslem Brotherhood, was bombing many movie theatres and other public forums killing also women and children in Egypt and murdered its Prime Minister. Tried to murder Nasser and then there is also Sadat. Today there is its Hamas and other terror offshoots. Bin Laden’s # 2 is a “Brother”. Some may want to believe that a leopard can shampoo off its spots. Churchill said “the past is the lantern that illuminates the entrance to the future”.

Of Course the Muslim Brotherhood is not al-Qaeda. They are different arms of the same beast. They have similar beginnings. Both were started by western intelligence agencies. CIA created al-Qaeda and British Intelligence started the Muslim Brotherhood; the Muslim Brotherhood is much older and much more embedded in the Middle East. They both server western interests, mobsters and trouble makers for hire.

Conspiracy fans could probably claim that the Holy Inquisition was started by the Protestants. If the British intelligence started the Moslem Brotherhood (founded in 1928), they must have been masochistic, since the Brotherhood was anti British and pro Hitler.
