  • I want that squid!!!! I imagine grilling it!!!! Yummmyyy!!!!!

  • grilled squid anyone?

  • PIRATE OF CARIBEAN...MONSTER

  • dead?

  • wow it was found ALIVE in japan and now its dead

    weird.....

  • Squidward are you that,

    bastards !!!

  • I thought it Giant stupid caught

  • ok we caught it ummm now what?

  • damn the japanese kill ever thing big whale giant squids what else they gonna kill

  • and of course the Japanese kill it

  • @jobo2ooth lol south park

  • Cruel. Couldn't they leave it alone after it survived this long? Creeps!

  • I didn't know the Kraken was capable of reproducing?!

  • Japan stop killing everything that is rare god damn it

  • Fukushima.

  • @programaster this is a video that was made way before that fukushima disaster happened

  • I saw squidward! Get him back!Or he'll play the flute!

  • @AmebaMitziPico

    It's a clarinet. HUGE difference.

  • fuckin squid larger than any thing xia

  • damn they found squidward

  • how is no one vomiting? i´d be on my 5th black bag by now....

  • i think it stinks there

  • i dont get how living in water pressure that is less than before would kill them, dosnt make sense since there is less weight acting on their bodies

  • @ReggaeZal Its because the air starts to expand inside them, its only a lil but it expands a lot with so much less pressure, then the air expands to much and explodes. It happens when u bring fish from deep sea level up to fast so their bodies dont have time to adjust the amount of air they have.

  • Exactly. It's like what happens to humans in space. If they're exposed to the surroundings, they 'explode' because there isn't any gravity putting stress on their bodies, keeping their shape intact. In this case, it's the same thing, but the other way around.. o_o

  • @ReggaeZal

It is really similar to a bottle of fizzy cola.

Carbon dioxide is a gas dissolved in the liquid.

If one suddenly reduces the pressure by opening the bottle then the gas comes out of solution as bubbles. When this happens for a human diver it is called the bends.. air bubbles in the blood can cause brain damage or block blood vessels etc.

Coming up from the deep fast can kill very quickly as you can imagine.

The faster the change the more damaging the effect.

  • So, in that case, if i slowly open the bottle of fizzy cola, the gas will not release as fast as it usually would, would the same apply to pressure, slowly applying pressure would let the squid live wouldnt it?

  • @ReggaeZal

I do not know about squid, they spend most of their lives deep in the ocean,

but divers ascend slowly from depth so that the pressure change is controlled, This allows them to clear gas from their blood over time by breathing.

each 10 meters water = 1 bar of pressure = air volume halves.

top 10 meters sees the biggest change.

Divers have to clear air spaces also by breathing out, clearing sinuses etc.

Squid may have air spaces they can't clear. my guess, slowly should work.

    idk

  • @ReggaeZal To explain the biggest change in top 10 meters.

Imagine a bubble which has a volume of 10 cubic centimetres.

1 bar of pressure will reduce it to 5 cubic centimetres,

    a change of 5cc.

2 bar will reduce it to 2.5 cc.

    a change of 2.5cc

    etc

so the change in volume is bigger closer to the surface. there are charts for human decompression times on many diving sites.

(I used to be a sports diver when I was younger, which is where I remember this from)

  • we know so little about these creatures, that it would be difficult to rear them as we wouldnt know how to look after them

  • i wonder if someone caught it jigging

  • gd food

  • i think they dont really stay alive long due to the pressure, thats why they live deep.

kind of the opposite for us, we go down pressure kills us.

they come up the pressure kills them....

  • So why don't they let the squids grow so we can see them at 20m? I'm sure the ocean is big enough for a few of them.

  • @swiggbot: I'm not sure but I think they have found little baby giant squids, but have been unable to rear them. They just die.

There was a man doing research on this but ran out of funding I believe. Check out some more vids on them.

  • They die on their own due to the water pressure.

  • I guess they found Squidward :)

  • They don't know how to keep them alive.

  • Well of course we don't, these things don't exactly crop up every day on the beach do they?

Also squid survive at thousands of feet below seal level, where there is zero light and its very dark and cold. If they are brought near the surface, the water is warmer and their blood can't circulate properly so they suffocate and die.

  • why the fuck did they kill it and then put it in a container? thats fucking evil.

  • yep. those fucking losers.

  • actually, the huge change in pressure (water pressure) from high to low is what kills them

  • Damn, 20 meters for a grown one. I would be scared shitless if I saw one in the water.

  • Have you ever seen Peter Benchley's The Beast movie?

  • i saw a documentary where some researchers, etc.. were in antarctika (i dont remember how to spell it) and they saw a 16,7 meter squid, that is sick!

  • Ya. This is the giant squid, the one that lives near Antarctica is the colossal squid :)

  • 20 fckin meters!!! :|

  • Made me hungry for some deep fried calamari. Mmm.

  • unreal amazing. This is one big squid could you imagine watching a giant squid fight a whale .I remember this documetry where this guy was catching infant giant squid he caught a few wich ended up dyeing because of the shape of tank and pressure rate would have been good if they lived the perfect pet

  • you forgot the "k"

  • LOLL i know right? what an idiot

  • ya mum is the idiot

her cunt looks like the squid thing lmfaoc hahaha

  • i wasnt talking to you fucktard.

  • haha is that all ya got

bring it on lil cum junkie lol

  • Pathetic. I don't feel like arguing with an illiterate wannabe. Sad that a 23 year old goes to random videos and insults people. Get a life.

  • .......

  • rpenri i aggre i think they not only should clown endagered animals but bring back an extint one the saber tooth tiger

  • Yeah then maybe one day, wouldn't it be cool if we could engineer animals that never existed like griffins?

  • Clone

  • holy crap if thats just a baby i donw want to meet and adult squid

  • :21 That must smell wonderfulllll

  • @Macr888 Actually, it smells like, well its diffiecult to say. I used to work for a laboratory, formaldehyde smells like ammonia.. no, alittle sweetness.... no, god theres nothing like it really! I JUST LOVED THE SMELL!

  • @TKgeniusHELLTX Really? Once at school, we disected sharks and the formaldahyde was terrible.. it sneaked into every classroom on that floor.. it was the worst. Haha you liked the smell? Well....whatever floats your boat!

  • @Macr888

Some people like the smell of petroleum. Huh. Odd. But probable.

  • damn google ads blockin the captions.

  • Why don't they just clone the fuckers? Grow some from the DNA they've got from the dead ones so that they can study it and scare little children at aquariums. I'd pay money to see a living giant squid in a big ass tank.

  • Because cloning doesn't work like that. From what I understand, you need to have a female of the same species. Can you remember Dolly the sheep? Besides having massive brain damage, it was still born from out of another sheep.

  • Dolly was made like over ten years ago...there have been advances in cloning and other medical technologies. Dolly wasn't still born...Dolly actually died from a respiratory infection that wasn't related to the cloning process BTW...and they don't need eggs to do it anymore...with stem cell technology, they can turn almost any cell into an egg or whatever.

  • Whoa, chill out Dr. Cloning. I never said the sheep was still born or even that it died at all. I'm only saying from what I remember, I haven't done any extensive research so please forgive my "ignorance". Can I just ask, if cloning is so good an actually works, why haven't we heard anything about it?

  • Maybe I misunderstood your wording, "Besides having massive brain damage, it was still born from out of another sheep"

Anyway...stem cell research is far along enough now to grow human organs in labs using skin cells...squid don't need a "womb" to gestate or whatever like mammals...replace the DNA in a "normal" squid egg with Giant Squid DNA and let it hatch and so forth.

  • Once it hatches, it can eat, grow and whatever like any normal squid...I doubt it needs any special environment other than that required by other normal ocean life...the one that died while being caught died from rapid pressure changes of being pulled up from extremely deep water. Even they aren't immune to the bends as it's known.

  • hahahaha, dr. cloning

  • did they kill it

  • nah, they use to live in about 300-800 metres deep..it died and got stranded..

  • That is one seriously rare pokemon.

  • @TheBoldBroadcast MASTERBALL!

  • @wazupwierdo

    But it's already fainted...

  • @TheBoldBroadcast its not a pokemon its a whale condom.......

  • @TheBoldBroadcast Shut up. Pokemon is horrible. Stop reminding me about it with stupid memes.

  • @Polyfusia SAY WHAT!? GET YO ASS OUTTA HERE!!! GET! GEET!!!!

  • could you think about the smell what's comming of grose...

  • to have necrofiliac sex with it duh!

  • don't you mean bestiality

  • "it was found alive"

THEN WHY THE F**** DO THEY KILL IT?

  • cause we're hungry. and what the fuck would you do with a 3.5 meter squid? call it pooch and keep it as a pet? don't tell me to put it in an aquarium it would eat up everything.

  • Haha amen, nicely said :p

  • It was probly about to die -- likely the reason it was 'found' near an island, it was floating near the shoreline.

  • oh sry ment to make it a good comment not a poor

  • it died.

  • The KRAKEN!!!!

  • haha, it's a lot bigger, if it really is REAL

  • why do the japan's get all the monsters? :( all are found near ther shores

    (soz for bad english)

  • i think tey have to kill instead of letting it suffocate in a transporting box and it probably isnt very safe haing a giant squid in a small box especially when yuu open it :/

  • All the sushi that would be sold with one of these.

  • damn 20 meters! thats fucking long lol

  • fuckers shouldnt kill it

  • Geez, please don't kill it.. It thinks you are ugly too :|

  • that one would have made an awesome sashimi...

  • why you think they killed it ? Squid has one major problem - they can not survive long out of ocean and they rot really fast so they die fast too . aah... go read something about them before whining like babies.

  • yep of course if its different and humans see it we gotta kill it

  • oh a new discovery lets kill it fukers always do that wen they find sumthin new "kill it"

  • wow...and they just HAD to kill it >:O

  • anybody really know what it is that's making all of these rarely seen creatures surface to the coast of Japan? so many records have been broken, and unseen species of shark, fish, and squid recntly. and they're all coming from this coast. O.o i wonder whats going on down there.....

  • I've eaten squid before but that kind would make me puke

  • OHHH NOOEEZ why they always find the biggest fish but then kill it, i only seen 1 giant squid on t.v and it was still alive it was sooo scary its eyes were just staring at the camera O.o

  • great idea, let's find this giant squid and kill it for no reason!

  • Put replys under here so people can see what the person is saying just for a joke like "lets eat the sqid in sushi form!"or "lets kill it and let it free!"

  • Why is it ALWAYS Japan who finds GIGANT creatures? hm..? THEY CAN MOVE TO HOLLYWOOD IF THEY WANT TO BE FAMOUS!

  • does it matter which country finds an animal like that?

What other giant creature did they find?

  • Mothra.

  • no, that's just a story..

  • godzilla

  • *sigh*

    I'm talking about real creatures.

  • in all fairness, it dosent matter where its from, the americans will twist the story so its all about them anyway....

  • Of course, because Americans are all idiots, huh?

  • yep

  • Poor "little" thing!

    Why did they kill it!

  • It was most likely caught in a net accidentally when fishermen were probably deep sea fishing.

Plus, humans have to eat too.

  • "It was found alive"

And there's plenty of other things to eat. This is just cruelty.

  • Well, guess I missed that part of the text, my apologies, non the less, they're clearly not going to eat it, personally huhh.. never mind it's useless

  • BBOOOO HOOO THE FISHY DIED

  • because they are mofos

  • Touché

  • because were humans and thats what we do

    kill

    get over it

  • Hey nice calamari....today's special

  • "Hey we found something new. Let's kill it!" And that's half the human history.

  • That's an exaggeration.

  • I wonder what it eats to reach that big.

  • smaller fish , they grow extremely fast.

  • aldo i believe they can live on small amounts of food for a pretty long time

  • took them long enough to find one of these!

  • sushi anyone?

  • It was found alive

So we killed it and put it in a cooler

    The end.

  • It would have died anyway being so far out from where they normaly live, the difference in water pressure and temperature would have killed it.

  • creepy

  • is it possible for it to eat a person

  • I don't see why it wouldn't be. We're no different than any other living thing.

  • oh noooes! DX they killed the poor lil baby! (well, not little, but u know what i mean)

  • Godzilla of the Seas!

  • did they killed it??

  • Leave it to a racist to completely miss the point of scientific research while trying to turn it into a racial issue. How dumb.

  • 20 fucking meters!

  • thats alot of kalamari

  • The Japs know how to catch everything (inadvertently of course)

  • That squid could turn into 20 dishes of calamari!

  • i bet they are gonna turn it into sushi 0.o

  • Worrying as it is, I've had bigger shits than that.

  • and that's the reason why I don't like to swim in the ocean.... 20 metres, jeez'

  • this is like, the first live giant squid found alive, so they kill it?! >:(

Why not just leave it be?? Hmm?

  • why would they say its a baby, then fully grown? that retarded.

  • the said it was a baby that was 3.5 meters, and they were comparing it to fully grown giant squids that can get up to 20 meters

  • is it still alive?

  • do u see it moving?

  • poor squid.

  • yum :)

  • Isn't that crazy??? Who knows what else lies in the depths of the deep sea?

  • i know i wounder that al the time

  • Lol me too!

  • people that live next to the deep sea creatures lol

  • thats not as big as the squid found in 1900s it way 58ft long

  • this squid is stil a baby.

  • DOCTOR OCTAGONAPUSS! BAAAA~!

  • ahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • you beat me to it. LOL

  • shoop da whoop-nice

  • how long is 20 meters in feet? or how many feet in a meter?

  • anbout 2 and a half so around

    50 ft long

  • dam!!!!!! that's huge, i wouldn't want to be near one if i do ever see one.

  • poor thing

  • they should have let it go.

  • o god thx man right when im eating

  • it was prolly caught in a net and half dead when they found it. Might as well take it up for research, chances are woulda died if they let it go (outside it's deep sea environment).

  • why did they kill it though?

  • they used to be considerd mythical ledgends. so its a big deal to most people

  • fool.

  • giant squids are real we know that's a fact now i wonder what other mythical creatures are real

it'd be cool if gryffins were real
