I guess the director want to have many actresses participate on this play. Most Vietnamese opera has few character and that it's not required many actor to join the play.
@tw1nkletoes89 Well, I think it's because the scene before this is extremely intensive. The part where Luu Kim Dinh fight all 4 gates requires a lot of physical performance. I think after that act the actress is too tired to continue the rest of the play. Usually at a live performance Luu Kim Dinh they would have two actress to before the 1st and 2nd acts.

There must've been another girl playing Luu Kim Dinh before Trinh Trinh came out. Most Luu Kim Dinh plays do so for some reason.
