one question, diesel trains go slower than ice 3 electric trains because of weight, right? i mean, could a diesel locomotive go at 200mph?

no, cause Diesel engines are not as strong as Electic engines, electrics can go on more then 30000rpm, dieseln only on maybe 12000!

Diesels have a poor power-to-weight ratio. The faster the train should go, the more measures are to be taken to keep the train stable on the track. Lumbering mass is no paying load, so that brings losses. Better to generate electricity outside the train. High voltage (25000 Volts) reduces the required current and subsequent losses on transportation of the required power that can rise up to 12 million Watts.
