i like what youve done with the sm57 because its so hard to get the lower mids with that mic did you eq it a bit after recording im curious as to how you got it to record those lower mids well.
May not be a particularly great choice for chug-style rhythm guitar, but I must say... I'd happily use this amp as part of my metal rig! The higher gain settings have this character to them that could actually be quite useful for very dense chord structures. I'd enjoy hearing this amp in a mix with a very bold Dual Rectifier. I have a feeling that I'd enjoy hearing a quad-tracked tune with each guitar sporting 100% panned Rectifier with 80% panned Cornford!
I don't think that there is not metal amps, but only those - not born with default sound like metal (after tweaking all amps can get metall-ish sound)
@PuppetGovernmentLV but for most metal songs and bands, you need some serious distortion, cause metal is a lot based on palm-muting, and clean palm muting sucks
@givemeajackson This is true, but you can get away with not having serious distortion if you have a good enough mix going with a band. As for the Valve Junior comment, with some hot-pickups, some chinese 12ax7's, and the addition of a master volume and it should rock pretty hard.
@tbirdpunk yes, but without mods or pedals it doesen't work. will get one anyways, best blues amp out there (btw, its the most cute little amp in the world :D)
Sounds good, could do metal, not quite the metal amp but it could work, it would probably be good for Hard Rock or Alternative rock/metal and also some stuff like Underoath.
very refreshing nice to hear you lead,i'm a big fan but (sorry) it kinda of sounded all the same. Here we hear you gooof around into some pretty great stuff Great skills wish you all the best wife baby dog ;o)
I got a masterclass from Guthrie Govan. That guy owns. Although he got cross with me when i asked him about how to get a semi-harmonic wail from a bend. He said that it's technically indescribable and that it's conjured from a deep finity with your instrument or something of the sort.

@NickWeiland i'm not ola, but off cetner/off axis micing helps a lot in terms of low mids. try that.

1:19 Cornford. Because Peavey is too mainstream.
