that was somewhat scandalous. but the producers always made sure that the blankets were tucked in so that you could tell that there were two twin beds, not one big one. but after little ricky was born they made them push the beds apart so that it would "diminish the impact of the suggested sexual history between ricky and lucy." (i got this info from imdb - i love lucy trivia)
