@ToxicPunkRules probably spend more time charging them than using them, plus the rate of discharge and recharge will likely reduce the life of the rechargable batteries. It's way more worth it to get ultimate lithiums. just ordered 50! :)

I have this camera and in movie mode you can hear over the video the focusing motor, makes a hell of a noise. The photos are OK for a novice camera but don't buy it for doing videos.

@Runningr0se i'm pretty sure the glare is from the glass barrier between the animals and the people. you're going to run into this depending on the zoo's setup, and of course the type of animal.

If it has a quality option, then you can extend the time immensely by shooting normal vga mode. I dont know if this Pentax allows that. But then again, this camera is the best SLR in terms of value

mine can film for about 11 minutes.

@sk8101698 Memory card class matters too. If you get a crappy card the camera's buffer will fill up and it can stop recording after about a minute. So make sure you get something with a high write speed.

I saw in Pentax site, that this camera don't shot in 16:9 photos, just recording in 16:9.

So, talking about photos in this camera.... Can I shot Pictures and watch in my Plasma TV in 16:9 formats? Have some feature for that?

Because I'm thinking if I shot in any resolutions with this camera, when I put to show in my TV 16:9, I will get just 3:2 natural format's from Pentax KX.

no dslr do auto focus while film, only thiree four system can do auto focus, smaller sensor but excellent quality.

While the K-x takes NiMHs, the old NiMHs that have powered your shaver or flashlight for the last two years are not going to work. One should expect to get a new set of Eneloops or Recykles to power the K-x.

and unless i get a response 2 my enquiry soon, i'd say their customer service, too. if u check the canadian pentax site, you'll see a link 2 the K-X. when u click it, it takes u 2 the K-7. the UK site spells "enlargement": enlagement, and enargement (all in the same paragraph!). what, no spell check? my email 2 them 2 weeks ago yielded nothing. i asked YT's pentaxian 1 for dealer info in korea.....zip.

pretty weak, imho.

i'll still be checking out the product, but it makes you think twice....

The K-x runs on plain old AA batteries. I would guess that whether you use regular batts or rechargables is up to you. (Although I'd hate to be wrong...)

@DustinBodenVEVO I just checked again and yep. It's a 55 - 300. I was evaluating a Canon Rebel and the two lens combo had a gap like that between them. When I saw the Pentax pair I couldn't pass them up. If I go whole-hog Pentax I think my next lens might be the Sigma 50 - 500 /w Pentax mount. I'm hoping the K-7 follow-on will do 1920 X 1080/p24/i60/p30. It would give me a third camcorder for wildlife and Indie shoots.

@Tapajara no way!! a 50-500 sigma? that is sweet. how much did it cost you? and 1920x1080p wouls be absolutely astounding for wildlife. i actually just stepped inside to upload my pictures onto my computer. im going to stick with my pentax for now ive been saving now for 2 some odd years for a hasselblad h4d-40 i was origionaly going for the leica s2 but when i felt a hasselblad shooting with michael grecco i couldnt believe the feel and quality of the photos.
