Fuels can be made from hemp oil. As i said - biodiesel is the most obvious use. HOWEVER cultivating it entirely for this is inefficient as other oils like canola can be used for cooking AND for fuel (used oil is made into biodiesel). Recycling is key my friend.
The best source for paper is wood pulp. In terms of sustainability #1 is bamboo. Hemp was a source for paper though. Paper is made of cellulose, hemp holds no advantage over other cellulose sources.

If you look at it from an objectionable viewpoint, it seems ludicrous for this versitile plant to be illegal.

You even fail math. LD50 is 40mg/kg. 4 grams of THC kills a 100kg man. 4 grams of THC are contained in about 36 grams of quality pot. You are right in one though - it is physically impossible to smoke so much.

Besides, you fail biology as usual. Nicotine, contained in the tobacco plant, is an EXTREMELY effective insecticide itself. Cannabis growers use it for pest control. Also most natural insecticides are harmless to humans. And i dont know a single bug species that would affect the tobacco plant, even plants with far lower natural insecticide amounts are completely immune to pests, even some cannabis strains do, cant recall the actual chemical on the fly though.

Even plants with 0.X% of nicotine (or other insecticide) pretty much act as contact kill on insects, some tobacco strains can have as much as 6%. There isnt a bug in the world that can survive it, even a cow cant eat it. And like most other substances of this kind, nicotine is produced by the plant specifically for defense.
Where tobacco gets traces of heavy metals is not some mysterious pesticide but chemical fertilizers, being grown in the same soil continuously the stuff builds up.

Hemp for fuel? Doesnt work, hemp oil can be used for biodiesel cause its not good for anything else. However biodiesel can be (and is) made from other oils (used cooking oils) that have other uses in addition. In short - hemp is not worth it. But again - the US consumes the most hemp oil in the world.

Ofc there are uses, thats why millions of tons of it are produced every year, but its mostly used for industrial purposes. Clothes can be made but are uncomfortable since the hemp fabric is very coarse. People dont wear linen anymore for the same reason.

Fuels can be made from hemp oil. As i said - biodiesel is the most obvious use. HOWEVER cultivating it entirely for this is inefficient as other oils like canola can be used for cooking AND for fuel (used oil is made into biodiesel). Recycling is key my friend.
The best source for paper is wood pulp. In terms of sustainability #1 is bamboo. Hemp was a source for paper though. Paper is made of cellulose, hemp holds no advantage over other cellulose sources.

@Buuub08 Not true my friend. Compared to your average tree: Hemp's growth cycle is roughly 180 days. An average tree cut down to make paper is over 50 years old. Hemp could dramatically cut down deforestation and save millions of acres of rainforests and national parks. 1 acre of hemp can produce more paper than 4 acres of trees its more environmentally safe and cost/space sufficient. If you look at it from an objectionable viewpoint, it seems ludicrous for this versitile plant to be illegal.

@garrett61856 There is a point in what you are saying. However rainforests are not cut down for paper. Forests get replanted in most civilized countries. National parks see no deforestation whatsoever (thats why they are parks). Cutting down stuff like shrubs is necessary to preserve arable land.
Hemp is rather poor in cellulose in terms of total weight. 1 acre doesnt equal 4 in general, is just by the time you get those 4 grown properly the 1 will have produced more (~50 years).

Hemp is not illegal, its grown all over the world for industrial purposes. For example China is the worlds largest Hemp producer - easy, but growing Marijuana gets you a death sentence. The problem in the US is that there is no differentiation between Hemp and Marijuana, you have only yourselves to thank for that.
