  • You have a great attitude and thank you very much for this motivating tip.

  • @RussX5Z Thanks brother. Glad to help out.

  • lol what? you can feel 135 on your back? It has to feel like a stick.

  • @cam44123 Ha, ha. Yes brother......A slightly heavy stick.

  • Great videos, recently subscribed a week ago, and almost watched all your videos. You sir, know your stuff, you apply it, and the results speak for themselves. Keep up the great work, and the intensity.

  • @juicedmonkey1111 Welcome brother. Thanks for the support.

  • Excellent! A lot more people should think this way!!

  • @OptimalFitJen Thanks Jen.

  • Nice motivation there Big J!! Keep on doing your thing brother i enjoy your videos alot. And the "lightweight" comes from R. Coleman? ;) Im going to hit my legs right now god bless

  • @Kindje12345 Thanks for the support. Not sure where the "Lightweight" came from. We all say it. Crush your leg workout brother.

  • i go hard regularly, but i do grant myself a light workout sometimes just to keep it up. Say on a day when i didnt go to the gym but i'm home and just want to hit everything to keep me ready for the next gym day

  • @natetheeman Sounds like a great plan.

  • Doesn't matter if ur gonna be sore! 'Hats Crooked' hahaha

  • BigJ honest to god today is leg day and I felt exactly like you did and didnt wanna go work out...watching this just got my motivation up again so thanks! gonna hit legs today...do or die lol

  • @MrPokerJesus Do or die brother....Thanks for the support.

  • Great vid :) Legs especially suck if you dont feel like doin em

  • @lOOFv Thanks brother and agreed.

  • jason thank for the email. i know i could count on you for guidance. i'm going to def. try the rack lifts. once again God bless you, and thank you so much

  • @gtashji I'll always get back to everyone, just a matter of time. Thanks for your patience and let me know how it goes for you.

  • Good info mate!

  • @johnsnips Had you guessing at the title huh Joh?

  • Great video.

  • @HollanderT12345 Thanks brother.

  • Not only that but when you're unmotivated and go, sometimes you will get into it quickly once there. At the very worst, you lift for maintenance and health + you stay on track with your schedule. With that being said, it's better to have the mentality of a savage each and every workout! Haha.

  • @presatito Agreed brother. Thanks for the comment.

  • Great vid Big J. Somedays I run out of motivation, but tell myself if must be worth it in the end. Not many people stick with it, nor especially for as long as you did.

  • @BERGATHLETICS It's def worth it brother!! I tried your real man protein shake today.....Not too bad.

  • That's the reason i subscribe. This man has the right type of attitude. Keep inspiring big J.

  • @youngfred116 Thank you my friend.

  • yeah - I completely agree w/ you - Frankie

  • @SmileitsFrank Thanks for the support Frankie!

  • excellent point :) if im feeling low, i will do volume,if im feeling good ill keep it short and snappy, its never a waste of time....im a male i need a release, my build is small and im a very hard gainer, but i enjoy the training...i think those down points do u a favour because ur joints and ligaments need a little R&R..

  • @NaturalMuscularity Well said my friend.

  • hello big J. love your bench vid. got a question for ya. i having issue with the bottom part of the bench press. from chest to mid extension. now what i'm doing is pyromiding down 40 lbs form my work set(305x3/5), and narrowing my grip, while doing the press form chest to midpoint of extension(while increasing reps 2/3). what is your take on my training method, what would you have me do to for this problem? thnaks for the vids God bless

  • @gtashji If your problem is at the bottom, the best way to get stronger is rack lifts. Put a weight heavier than you are used to lifting on a rack at your sticking point and attempt to move it. It helped me years ago. I would do that training every other week. Warm up properly.

  • Hi BigJ, thanks for this video. We are close to the same age, and I workout at 5 am each morning and there is a lot of morning I think why am I doing.

Thanks for the vids and keep them coming..

  • @jtzr1 Stay focused old friend. Your battle will be won daily with the right attitude.

  • I wanna move to Red Oak just to join his gym.

  • @srairmand Awesome Ronnie. We'd sign you up quick!! HARD CORE members only.

  • Amen! You, Sir, are the wise man of bodybuilding. Everybody can sit in front of the camera and tell you stuff, but when i started to watch your videos i didnt have an doubts because i saw that you have the experience. Keep up the awesome work with you videos!

  • @AntiAtzeProductions Thank you for the support my friend. It's really appreciated.

  • what's up with you recording while driving? careful, don't crash bro! lol

  • @staind132111 Safety first brother. Funny twins parody vid.

  • Great advice! Thank you for the videos.

  • @Fluxion11 My pleasure. Thanks for the support.

  • It only seems fitting to post a link about a study that says lifting lighter weights will also build muscle.

"In short, the authors say, similar muscle mass can be built by using light weights as with heavier ones."

    webmd(DOT)com/fitness-exercise/news/20100813/want-to-build-muscle-light-weights-will-do

  • @motionman0 Thanks for the post.

  • good advice bro!! God bless you man!

  • @powerlifter95 Thank you. Same to you.

  • Why are you recording a video while you're driving? It's dangerous, for you and for the rest of the people, my mom died in a car accident....

    Excuse My Bad English..

  • @Atu7UP Not as dangerous as you would think. Watch my next video and my condolences to you and your family for your loss.

  • Just in time Big J, just yesterday was back day, and after working a 11 hour shift, i simply just didn't feel like even looking at any weight plates, let alone lifting, but i still managed to get the job done. granted not as sore as normal, but i do feel a little something back there, and after this video, just made me feel even better about my back workout, between your channel & Kevin Levorne's TLR, i'm going to get that bodybuilder body yet. great examples of 2 pro's been there & done that..

  • @tonytbn A great honor being mentioned along side Kevin Levrone. He is a phenominal person. Trained with him years ago. Incredibly strong. Keep fighting the good fight. The battles are daily brother. The wars are won with INTENSITY!!

  • Every single workout Ronnie Coleman does is LIGHTWEIGHT! but that doesn't stop him from going to the gym almost everyday :b

  • @Ramul Ha, ha. That's right brother. Light Weight!! How's your new video coming along?

  • Thx man, great video

  • @nevraXmike Your welcome Mike.

  • this is a great video

i mean personally, i love working out legs the most out of all my body parts and really have no problem with this, but im sure the time is coming :p

ill just remember your advice Big J

and i recently just started the motto of intensity rules and let me tell ya, even though i cut my pre workout out and listen to shit music in the gym, it helped me out alot, i just focus and keep that motto in my head and my lifts are going up!!!!

    THANKS BIG J!!!!!

  • @kidbuu101 Yes my wall scaling brother. INTENSITY RULES!!

  • Doesn't matter if you think you're going to be sore hats crooked doesn't matter...

  • @AMPepin1992 Ha, ha. You caught that huh? Freakin' head's crooked so my hat always ends up sideways.

  • Big J I have the opposite problem. I train super hard to the point where it's caught up with me and I can tell I need to lay off big time. Do you think it's better to take the full week off and just recover so I can bring the intensity again the week after or go next week and just do super light stuff?

  • @boby6 I did a video on this a while back. I'll find it and send it to you.

  • INTENSITY RULES!

  • @6reps Yes it does my friend.

  • When I don't feel like doing a workout as soon as I get in the weight room that feeling goes away and the Intensity starts.

  • @decoysupreme AWESOME!!

  • School made me go from training Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 3 days a week to approximate once a week or 3-4 times a month. This happened over a time period of 4 months, and I really do not feel as good as I did before. When I train, I get really relaxed afterwards (sometimes sleepy), therefore I cut down the training for school, so I would do better. However, starting again made me get more energy. I just have to go to bed before 12 PM instead of 1-2 PM so I'll get more sleep and restitution! Thanx BigJ

  • @PilotCube Although I do not rest enough, sleeping is one of the top forms of recovery and growth. Continue your journey my friend. INTENSITY RULES!!

  • this vid really applies to a lot of people, especially since it's LEGS, i think everyone hates training somedays, and has days like that

i only struggle with motivation on legs days, feels like it takes a diff kinda energy from me

  • @FranksLtd Yes, I despise leg day, but love the results of overall body developement and growth. And you are correct. It takes a different mind set to do a sick Squat workout. Thanks for the support.

  • working out with low weights helps you to recover , it is not a waste of time .

  • @VivaMydick Agreed.

  • YES! Great motivational video Big J, thank you!

  • @danielnator You are very welcome Daniel.

  • Great video

  • @TheDJLowco Thank you!!

  • TOTALLY NOT A WASTE OF TIME! : )

  • @Pokemonguy16RS Exactly Josh!!

  • Preach on

  • @CampbellFitness Yes brother. Spreading the INTENSE knowledge like you.

  • Big J . Man you Should change your name to Brother J's Extreme Fitness. because you preach the gospel when it comes to trainng. you know i have to tell you how much you inspire me. there are day that i am hard on myself for not performing as hard as i should(like today). and he you put out this great video, which just lifted my spirits. can't wait for my work out tomorrow.

  • @BigJsExtremeFitness

No, thank you, and keep videos like this coming, it's appreciated! :-)

  • Totally agree with everything

  • @rampagetapout Excellent.

  • its really funny you made this video...i learned this about a week ago...i went to the gym to help someone else and i didnt plan on working out...she said she wanted to see me do something so i warmed up and stayed at 135 and did it for only 2 working sets not even going to failure..i usually do 225..i didnt think i was ganna be sore at all the next day but i was actually a little sore..suprised me

  • @olinblockedme Awesome.

  • my fav channel

  • @DeepHouseification Awesome...Thanks for the support.

  • Yesterday wanted to lift in the morning didn't happen.. wanted to lift in the afternoon didnt happen... so I went in the evening and parked my car in the parking lot and just didn't feel it so I turned around and went home lol. Gonna hit it twice as hard today. Sometimes you just need the extra day of rest.

  • @ninjabic Agreed. Hope you got it in brother.

  • AWESOME VIDEO, Hey I got a weird question. Say if your working out biceps and doing preacher curls and while you are resting in between sets, is it a good idea to contract your biceps for the rest period? I kind of just thought of it, does it do anything? or is it just wasted effort, haha thanks Big J INTENSITY RULES.

  • @shurdawg never thought about that before tbh good question

  • @shurdawg i feel like that could be counterproductive because then you wouldn't be restinf your biceps really. Idk haha

  • @LTMagic21 I know haha thats what im thinking, but i heard somewhere it breaks down extra glycogen in your muscles or something.. Idk its probly BS but just thought it would be a weird question :D

  • @shurdawg that wouldn't be considered rest

  • @shurdawg Not a waste of effort brother but not using much needed recovery time. I would recommend stretching instead to allow blood flow and oxygen to reach the muscles being worked. Oxygen is the first form or recovery the body uses along side ATP and carbs. Great question.

  • Yesss! This was one of the best videos I have heard in a long time. Great speech Big Hench Jay.

  • @JackoWolves Thanks brother. I really appreciate the support.

  • I love this video because of your treaching and your right working out is Not and I repeat NOT a waste of time . working out has help me in more ways to keep myself from going to the nut house. right now what is what keeping from working is this Damn head cold and be glad when its gone because I am ready to hit the weights ..

  • @lilbruce Good deal Bruce. Hope you get better soon.

  • Great speech

  • @MeadeyProductions Thank you very much.

  • I definitely like this video.. Ive been feeling depressed with my results and thought what is the point.. then i thought where i was last year and think if i can come this far than how good will i look in 5 years... its def worth it

  • @Pen1980IM that's crazy i had the same epiphany last week myself! haha

  • @Pen1980IM Awesome. Remember it's a life long committment and you are the only one that can keep the results coming. Keep training with INTENSITY my friend.

  • INTENSITY RULES

  • @bebIessed ALWAYS!!

  • No, because I workout instead of playing video games.

  • @MriBackup A wise choice my friend.

  • It's good to know that every pound of weight I lift is a few life extensions to my life.

    You are my hero Jason.

  • @Bracerjack AWESOME, thanks for the support.

  • I just had a day like that today, just didn't feel like doing my shoulder workout was suppose to do 12 total sets of 10 reps, only did 6, but still happy I at least did something, better than doing nothing and regreting it later.

  • @Excelion333 EXACTLY my point my friend.

  • Very good speech. Wasted time is time spent doing nothing at all.

  • @WatchVenusSpa AGREED. Thanks for the continual support my Canadian friends.
