I had some personal issues with Caprica such as replacing the Colonial military with a Tauron Gay mafia which I predicted would be a major ratings killer still it was nevertheless the only show on tv I watched other than Stargate and it was very very deep.

The conclusion of the season did feel rushed, as if the knew it had been cancelled and were trying to tie up the main strands.

SyFy didn't want the show dead! They aired it on their busiest nights. Why would they spend money making a show if they wanted to kill it? Caprica was awesome, but the viewer count fell every episode. It wasn't canceled because SyFy didn't like it, or because it was a bad show, but because not enough people watched it.
And while SyFy may be making some questionable choices, they are still a TV channel and have to make decisions that's best for them. There's not much you can do.
@dnavarre1 They did not advertise the show second session, and if I recall it aired at 10:00 Wednesday night and that is far from their busiest nights. No ratings at all left it at the bottom of the barrel in ratings over cost.
@dnavarre1 There is no difference between this drama & other drama's. An inability to properly market their products & immaturely blame the viewers, actors, or even the drama itself, without taking any responsibility. Old ways of marketing are not working anymore. Compare SyFy with Fox's facebook, website, trailers, marketing campaigns, party's and adding value to the existing actors. When a viewer unwittingly likes a canceled show on SyFy facebook, they are banned, boundary & maturity problems.

Listen to the commentaries on the DVD's. They are fantastic and the final episode gives you an idea of what they were planning. This show was going to take off bigtime in season 2. To bad for us real sci-fans season 2 will never happen!
@Andreas0Elf yeah but you gotta think, watching at lest the first half of the episode 1 of Blood and Chrome might wrap up some more loose ends from Caprica sense it still takes place before BSG yet after Caprica

I began to like it, but it came out a bit too soon after battlestar.
I think allot of us expected it to be similar to It and it wasn't, however It was just as good but in a different way.
It's like the difference between an action thriller, and a spy film.
