The emotions this song and album as a whole make me feel are indescribable. But the closest I can get is it's like feeling your heart broken into a million pieces over and over again in the best way possible. Chris just pours his heart out and I am eternally grateful because he feels how I feel and then put them into these amazing emotional songs.

@biancagln Perhaps. I hope you're keeping in mind, however, that Superstar is a cover of a Carpenters song and they toned it down mightily for a tribute album. I don't know how songs 'look'. I only know how they sound. This band's sense of song construction, hooks, melody, rhythm etc. are nothing like Sonic Youth originals (which often feature unusual tunings, which this band does not ever employ). And this band is not very good or at all innovative and worthy of the hype they got this year.

I just read up on this band, and the singer was in a cult where they were encouraged to imagine sex with jesus while masturbating, and imagine that they were a woman, so as to avoid homosexuality with the J man. Fucking hilariousness aside, I think this song may be about those type of thoughts, that must have been brainwashed into the poor fellow while in the cult. I'm so smart.
