  • I guess this debate is the very definition of "half knowledge". They scratch some interesting aspects but simply get so many of the basics so terribly wrong that it really hurts. And yes, England is part of the UK which is an EU member state, one of 27.

    Greetings from Europe

  • as an australian living in france for 3 years now, all eu countries are different and unique, with what the eu done is strengthen alll european nations, sounds like you guys are jus mumbling away and saying anything for the sake of it

  • an okay interview but as a european born in sussex, uk i can safely say we've been a part of the eu for a long time although it did go by many differant names before renaming itself the european union in the early 90's, infact i think we were one of the country's that helped found it, at any rate the eu had brought untold peace and prosperity to the european family and the vast majority of the british are proud to be part of it.

  • @jopeon The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland joined the EU in 1972. While Britain was instrumental in post war reordering and negotiating the good operation of the Marshall Plan, the UK was not a founder member. As for that other nonsense about 'bringing untold... prosperity', the reson it's untold is because it doesn't exist. And it is quite clear that the majority of Brits are firmly against continued involvement in the EU on current terms.

  • the EU doesn't make our countries the one, it brings us together and makes us stronger. EU citizenship doesn't replace our old one, it is additional to and does not replace our national identity, it is along side it.

  • Lol this entire discussion was awful, UK isn't in the EU, all the countries are the same now? WTF, yankee idiots, don't talk about what you dont know

  • Ummm, the UK is in the EU guys

  • England is in the EU as the United kingdom, also ireland, wales and scotland speak english and around %40 of european people speak english as second language

  • This is sooooo dumb lol

  • @CallumJ230 Americans are so dumb lol

  • @Re9ap9er9 dont want to generalise but im gonna have to agree with this lol

  • Hahaha…geee. Those guys have no clue what they are actually talking about. Shameful. Do research before debating.

  • i can tell you that i live in the United Kingdom and we have been in the EU since the 1970's plus i always holiday in europe and every country looks VASTLY different and their culture will always be there.

  • STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • stupid bumbling redneck idyuts

  • Most Europeans speak their native language plus another language... Except the ENGLISH, most of them only speak English. The English are also the ones with no EURO currency they use British Pounds. They are in the EU but many of them want to get out...

  • Guy on the far right knows NOTHING about the EU except generalities. The UK is in the EU but not in the Eurozone where the Euro is used (some UK companies accept Euros in payment though) The EU IS ~50 years old and the Council of Europe is a little bit older. I mean all this stuff is on Wikipedia FFS.

  • The EU is diversed...27 Members , 27 different cultures , 27 languages..I'm from Germany and I speak English and understand Dutch very well. Most Europeans speak more than 2 Languages..German is the most spoken Language in Europe. And guys England is a member of the EU. And England is not the only Country who speaks English in Europe..Ireland and Malta also and they are both Members of the EU...

  • Ignorance

  • Guys - England is part of the United Kingdom which is part of the EU.

  • England is the only nation that speaks English, and is outside of the EU?...they should really know somehing about what they're talking about before they start debating it!

  • @0872422 england is in the eu. they just don't use euros

  • Not all EU countries use the euro...

  • This is the most unintelligent debate I've ever heard

  • You don't know anything...

  • shame ...study something first about Eu and then you can talk...
