moon river has the side stretch that you can flank them on with, this map was the river nile i think dont remember if you had a flanking option i could have pulled my force around and flanked them
Sweet battle, and a great victory, especially with the elephants. Perhaps you should have hold some reserves, when you send your entire force over a bridge, 90% of the men does nothing but get tired. You still won the battle, but if the front was broken, you would have been overrun
why dont you mention the details of the people youre against?
also try to mention what nation everyone is and stuff if its not to much to ask

i think it WAS a good idea for fire arrows cos they have lesser accuracy, but greater damage and larger decrease in morale. considering your men were in a massive horde, accuracy wasnt as important as say if your men were spread out and they have big damage bonus.

we did see the names at the end but i still dont know what faction your opponents were because im not familiar with the RTW symbols for factions. i presume you two were greek city states.
well, we did about 4 battles with different factions to make him familiar with the game, i dident mind if he won or me, but ill spit it out anyway, he won 1 battle and i won 3
good battle sage. you and your ally had some dangerous moments in that battle. but the worst mistake was done by your enemies when they only sent cataphrats and elephants and 2 infantry battaslions. A tip to any readers never divide the army in that type of position. especially a river crossing.
In 2v2s, it's great to be able to talk to your ally through Skype, Vent etc. I'm guessing you did that though.
And a few more things, the armour only counts when they are fired at from the front. So when you get the chance, fire at the back of armoured units.
And here's a pretty big one: Whenever possible, attack with your spearmen in phlanx formation. It'd give you a much better chance of winning a fight, when running them there take them out of phlanx formation though.

Haha, this was fun doing, i fucked up in the beginning on that backup, i was busy aiming my archers on their elephants and checking out what kind of army my 2 opponents had obviously but i sent them in in time to fend off those silver shields, great fun doing and definatly worth doing more
I find armored hoplites to be more effective at this money-level, unupgraded spartans isnt that good.

Your right about the fire arrows...there only hady for seiges and even then its only a good idea if you have alot of them in the first place.

Interesting battle! To take out the elephants you need some archers on fire mode and some on normal to rout the elephants.
