For the record: Half-Life 2 uses a heavily modified Havoc engine for physics. Not rendering. Havoc does not do rendering. GoldSrc, the Half-Life engine, uses QPhysics, from Quake. Its a very basic engine. VERY basic.

Sonic 2006 used Havok, but players are not usually affected by Havoc physics, just their surroundings. I Sonic they really should have made him affected. Might have fixed the game a little.

actually the Havoc Engine isn't the problem itself. games like Half-life 2 use it and the physics works perfectly.

@lindseynick18 The footage is from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). This game used a physics engine called the Havoc Engine (if I'm remembering right) that was supposed to make the game more realistic and add to the gaming experience.

As you can see in the video, the engine did the exact opposite. Physics in the game are COMPLETELY broken, to the point where Sonic can walk up walls, chill out upside down in loops, and even ride a box into space by break dancing on one of the corners.
